Abington Park a most solid fav 4.45

Today’s Multi

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

Abington Park 4.45 @ 13/8

Lethal Nymph 4.20 @ 3/1

Gulliver’s Travels 8.30 Dundalk @ 7/4

Heavy rain is expected for all 3 day racing tracks from around 3.00 . I have taken this into consideration .

Selected Fontwell – good ground on this  sharp track

4.00 PREMIUM RACE

4.35 Not a deep race and Beat The heat did very well last time  with a good 3rd , racing with a 9 pound penalty , proving he’s up to this mark . Longer trip and softer ground no tangible issues .

1/4pt  ew  Beat The Heat @ 9/1

No Fontwell placepot

Selected Hexham – good ground on this undulating , galloping and very stiff track

3.00 PREMIUM RACE

3.35 With soft ground likely , the only one with form on a deep surface , and with form at the trip off around this mark is the capable Coolbane Boy .

1/4pt win Coolbane Boy @ 9/2

4.10 Looks a match and recent all the way winner Saint arvans is only 3 pounds higher and can handle easy ground and preferred to Minella Plus, likely to need a longer trip .

1/2pt  win Saint Arvans @ 6/4

4.45 Abington Park runs this C&D very well and impressed in just his 2nd chase when a good 2nd , again  over C&D . Softer ground unlikely to be an issue .

3/4pt win Abington Park @ 13/8

Selected Ascot – good ground on this stiff  and galloping track

2.00 PREMIUM RACE

2.35 The rains should come to enhance the chance of the tough and prolific Aggagio, just 3 higher , and opponents none too convincing of late .

1/2pt win Aggagio @ 7/4

4.20 Lethal Nymph comes here on the back of a smart win over C&D on easy ground , and decent possibilities of the double with just a 3 pound hit .

1/2pt  win Lethal Nymph @ 3/1

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping

4.40 The last time winners Twilight Secret and Finery both have stiff penalties and the longer trip / shorter trip respectively , won’t help either . Starshiba is rarely far away  , but he’s renowned for that , just the 1 career win but 7 seconds , and a number of those close calls . He’s dropped to a good mark and was a good 2nd last time . This is his best trip, but untried on tapeta , but a career record of a win and 2 places from just 5 tries on polytrack raises hopes .

1/2pt win Starshiba @ 5/2

5.15 The luckless Fortuitous Star returns after a 2 months break and would rather just watch first try on synthetics , and was beaten fair and square by Stormy Pearl at this trip at Hamilton, so this stiff track should suit both , but has a 4 pound pull , but as an able 5 pound claimer is aboard his old rival, placings should be confirmed . Stormy Pearl likes to have her own way up front , and likely to have that tonight . She backed up her win with two more solid efforts on tracks too benign , and last time was caught out by the shorter trip. She too tries synthetics for the first time , but worth a try in a winnable heat .

1/4pt win Stormy Pearl @ 5/1

5.45 Wasdale only landed  a seller last time but it was at Wolver at this trip, so respected proven on the surface . Preference is for the Jim Goldie juvenile in  B Associates , good runs in both handicaps, and all weather blood in the pedigree. He’s a late player and worth a dabble despite being off the track for 2 months .

1/4pt win B Associates @ 7/2

8.15 A cracking finale and with so much early pace this could be set up beautifully for the late playing recent C&D winner Rory, despite up in the ratings and grade  .

1/4pt win Rory @ 3/1

Selected Dundalk – all weather – polytrack

4.50 Three useful sprinters in the opener but Logo Hunter hasn’t been firing on all cylinders for a while now and around this speedy track , would need an extra furlong . The highway Rat is likely to have his own way up front , when landing a Group 3 over C&D last season a, and had the late playing Harry’s Bar 4 lengths behind , and on the same terms , looks good for the repeat .

1/2pt win The Highway Rat @ 6/4

5.25 Congo River was an easy winner over C&D last time , and didn’t need to run anywhere near his best to account for inferior rivals, but it proves he handles the surface well , which could give him the edge in this valuable Juvenile Listed race .

1/4pt win Congo River @ 11/2

6.00 I Know I Can comes here on the 3 very respectable runs , all at this trip , giving him a far better chance than his odds suggest .

1/4pt  ew I Know I Can @ 66/1

7.00 Looks very much a match but front running Cairo impressed in both runs at The Curragh , and related to a host of good sorts . Has all weather blood in  the pedigree  and preferred to Spirit Genie , another useful juvenile , related to useful winners , but nothing on the all weather .

1/2pt win Cairo @ 6/4

8.30 The bookies are making this a 2 horse war , but I’m reducing that to one in Gulliver’s Travels Only had 4 starts and comes here on a hat-trick , and last time was a clear winner over C&D , and on a good mark judged on that performance , when front rank throughout and ran strongly to the line . He is preferred to the lightly raced Amoretentia, ,but an unlikely stayer on pedigree .

3/4pt win Gulliver’s Travels @ 7/4
