3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Edge Of Darkness 3.05 @ 4/1
Rock Of England 3.48 @ 11/4
Breege 4.10 @ 11/4
Selected Ascot probably good ground on this stiff and galloping track
1.35 PREMIUM RACE
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
3.20 PREMIUM RACE
4.30 PREMIUM RACE
No Ascot placepot picks
No advice for The Curragh
Selected Newmarket – good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
3.05 The prominent racing Edge of Darkness comes here on a hat-trick after wins at this trip at Thirsk. This isn’t a deep race and could well be up to landing the hat-trick with a 4 pound hit .
1/2pt win Edge Of Darkness @ 4/1
4.15 Plenty of early pace around which won’t help the prominent racing top handicapper Lethal Levi going up in trip. Thunder Ball has come on leaps and bounds of late and comes here on the back of an excellent 4th of 29 at Royal Ascot when disputing and keeping on very well .
1/4pt win Thunder Ball @ 5/1
No Newmarket placepot picks
Selected Redcar – good ground on this flat and galloping track , but rain is forecast
2.03 A clear opportunity for the reliable Vixey , who brings the best form into a modest maiden .
1/2pt win Vixey @ 7/4
3.48 After a good win at Hamilton , Rock of England has held his form well since running 2nd both times off around this mark . This isn’t a deep contest but his wide draw is a worry .
1/2pt win Rock Of England @ 10/3
4.24 The front running Mrs Bagerran has been running very well in handicaps and the drop in grade into a Classified should see her making all , despite the wide draw.
1/2pt win Mrs Baggeran @ 5/2
5.02 Not a deep race at all and a fine chance for the luckless front running Ribkana to finally break her duck after a good series of efforts in better races .
1/2pt win Ribkana @11/4
5.35 The usually reliable Spantik ran no kind of race recently at Catterick , but a quick reappearance suggests he’s in better trim today .
1/4pt win Spantik @ 3/1
Selected Haydock – good ground on this flat and galloping track , but rain is forecast
2.25 A wide open Class 3 big field handicap and my short list is very long but Dawn On Liberation has been given a sound chance by the handicapper and will find this company less demanding . Nice longshot .
1/4pt ew Dawn Of Liberation @ 22/1
3.00 Al Aasy bounced back from a poor comeback spin with a comprehensive victory at Newbury and has sound claims of another win but won’t have things his own way with the progressive Midnight Belle dangerous and I give the nod to the prolific and progressive King Of Conquest and the top stable has an excellent record with first time cheekpieces .
1/2pt win King Of Conquest @ 10/3
3.35 Hard to rule any of these out in a tight small field handicap but Arkenstaar holds his form pretty well off his new mark and can outrun his odds.
1/4pt win Arkenstaar @ 7/1
4.10 A good quality Class 1 mile and at the ratings the one to beat is the luckless Breege who comes here on the back of 2 big runs , 2nd of 29 at Royal ascot and 2nd in a Goodwood Group 3 next time . She’s also the one to beat at the ratings .
1/2pt win Breege @ 11/4
4.45 A very open handicap but as Senesi can be relied upon to run her race , is worth support .
1/4pt win Senesi @ 4/1
No Haydock placepot picks
Selected Lingfield – good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
5.15 As both Zabbie and C&D specialist are both now on marks that’s proved beyond them in the past , the in form Flying Spirit , 2 close seconds of late is preferred, but a few concerns , usual headgear missing , down in trip and wide draw .
1/4pt win Flying Spirit @ 10/3
6.45 Looks very much a match between the useful hurdler Wonderwall , who’s been going well on the flat up against the Gosden trained Humanity , a £300,000 yearling , but only run came on the all weather and been off the track for 9 months . They’re both short odds and I can afford to watch .
No Bet ‘
7.15 Plenty of in form types but understandable that the very consistent Denis Anthony is a warm order at 5/4 as this prominent racer did well last time off this mark at Epsom , so this C&D should be no problem , but a bit short in the odds for me .
Selected Ayr- probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track – rain is forecast
6.37 There was very little between the hat-trick seeking Ayr Poet and Golden Valour over C&D last time and despite the latter enjoying a very healthy weight pull, hasn’t won in over 3 years . They also crossed swords a few races earlier when Arch Moon was 2 lengths behind Ayr Poet , and is 12 pounds better off , with Golden Valour again , where he is usually, close up .
1/4pt win Arch Moon @ 11/2
