Today’s Multi – 50p ew Trixie & 50p ew treble
Pledge Of Honour 2.05 @ 28/1
Spirit Dancer 3.00 @ 15/2
No Nay Nicky 4.45 @ 6/1
Selected Newbury – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.30 Most of these have a point to prove switching from the all weather , which offers a decent opportunity for the reliable Rival , who handled good ground well when winning at this trip at Ffos Las last season off around this mark and in a race for apprentices , and the majority of these are most certainly struggling for success , the tip is partnered b y the most successful rider In the field .
1/4pt win Rival @ 5/1
2.05 Many of the form horses have it to prove off enhanced marks and racing on much quicker ground . Pledge Of Honour was much improved last season , putting together a sequence of 4 wins and 2 places in 6 starts and this late player was far from disgraced in his final run when beaten just 2 lengths off his present mark , form which gives him every right to be on the premises today . He can go well fresh and his stable are in top form .
1/2pt ew Pledge Of Honour @ 28/1
5.26 The luckless Bunker Boy comes here on the back of 4 seconds and a 3rd and only failed by a head last time . Cruelly he’s been bunged up 3 pounds , but this is certainly more about quantity than quality .
1/4pt win Bunker Boy @ 3/1
Selected Newmarket – good ground on this undulating, stiff and galloping track
4.35 PREMIUM RACE
5.05 PREMIUM RACE
No Newmarket placepot
Selected York – good ton firm on this flat and galloping track ,speed track .
3.00 As the vast majority of the field would be happier on softer ground , lower marks or on the all weather , worth trying useful handicapper Spirit Dancer . He ended a short season with 3 massive runs all over C&D on fast turf , an unlucky 4th in the very valuable John Smith Handicap , then landing a win and ending his season with a good 2nd , off this mark . He may need the run but in a winnable heat , can’t be missed at the odds .
1/2pt ew Spirit Dancer @ 15/2
3.35 PREMIUM RACE
4.45 One of many races today where it’s more about quantity than quality . No Nay Nicki ran some very solid races last season , including first time out and when a close 2nd over C&D off this mark .
1/2pt win No Nay Nicki @ 6/1
5.15 A massive field for this sprint handicap and no shortage of early pace either . A case can be made for many in this open finale but certainly worth trying the lightly raced and hat-trick seeking Rhythm N Hooves , who is on a good mark on his handicap debut judged on his runaway win on the Newcastle tapeta last time . If he handles quick turf on a quick track remains to be seen but hard to ignore at long odds for his chance .
1/4pt win Rhythm N Hooves @ 11/1
No York placepot
Selected Aintree, good ground on this flat and galloping track – speed track
5.55 There is an absolute stack of early pace with at least 6 of the 9 liking to dominate from flagfall , which certainly won’t help those up front but will be of great advantage to those ridden more patiently . The capable veteran Barton Knoll was a nose 2nd in this last year off an 8 pound higher mark . There was more encouragement from him last time and the race could well drop his way .
1/4pt ew Barton Knoll @ 9/1
7.05 Another race where a strong gallop is likely which will help the capable Boombawn who ran very well at Cheltenham last time when upped to this trip . He smoothly travelled off the pace , moved well into a challenging position , but found the stiff track against him late on . This track is very much in his favour . Late and fast .
1/4pt win Boombawn @ 7/2
7.40 The prolific Kinondo Kwetu won his first 5 over fences , taking his winning mark from an Ok 107 to a very decent 132 . He returned from a break with a poor effort in a Grade 2 event but this C&D winner put that behind him with a magnificent 3rd of 15 , again over C&D at the Grand National meeting . He should be too good for these and the only concern is the weak form of the stable .
1/2pt win Kinindo Kwetu @ 5/2
Selected Hamilton – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
9.00 The well handicapped C&D winner Chinese Spirit was unlucky last time as this late player was short of racing room at a vital moment . The ground is in his favour and looks a nice ew play in a winnable heat .
1/4pt ew Chinese Spirit @ 9/1
