The consistent Simply Red is preferred after her close 2nd at Bangor last time off around this mark . I’d be a lot more confident if it wasn’t for Donald McCain’s poor record here .

Brianna Rose has yet to miss the frame here in 4 tries , but she’s nudged up the ratings and drying ground not perfect . The lightly raced Fenney Brook remains on a workable mark .

Jack of All Shapes was a surprise winner at Uttoxeter last time and despite the big field, nothing has come out to run well since , and he goes up half a mile. Ben Lilly was an 87 rated stayer on the flat and fair to expect better since going up in trip . He was a close 2nd last time off around this mark and today’s extra yardage very much in his favour .

1.45 The bang in form Bavardages was a close 2nd over C&d last time out and off just a pound higher is the one to beat in this race for amateur lady jockeys and will be well handled by the vastly experienced Serena Brotherton . Billy Roberts has run some good races and comes here in form but ridden by a very inexperienced jockey . Both Saulire Star and Myboymax come here on the back of wins and are very consistent types but both high in the ratings and the drop in trip a likely issue for both .

3.15 A very weak low grade handicap and the stand out form horse is the Hughie Morrison trained Wagga Wagga , who does very well making the 350 mile round trip here . He ran very well in his first handicap at Salisbury on quick ground to be 2nd at this trip and fast ground , so this C&D should be fine . Up 3 pounds , but still hard seeing what can stop him .

3.45 All of these come here in top form but the front running Carnival Zain lost little in defeat over C&D last time going down narrowly on the quick ground . 2 pounds higher today and usual hood missing , but still gets the nod . Visibility , who rarely runs a poor one , was a shock 20/1 winner here last time in a hot handicap over a longer trip and a bit to do today with a 5 pound penalty .Grifter is up in the ratings and grade but the consistent Cosmos Raj is likely to run his race and is due a change of luck .

Up 7 pounds but still well handicapped on old form so much respected. Slight preference is for the consistent if luckless C&D specialist Round The Island , who’s gone close the last twice . Dream Together is a bit in and out but this C&D winner is on a workable mark if on a going day but Stalingrad , placed in all 4 runs for this stable , but brings a record of 0 from 17 to the table.
