A light bulb moment, it has to be Edison Kent .4.55

Today’s Multi

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

Edison Kent 4.55 @ 5/2

Boom The Groom 5.15 @ 11/2

Flavius Titus 7.00 @ 10/3

Selected Leicester – probably good ground on this stiff and galloping track

1.37 The prominent racing Marie’s Secret is rarely far away ,including a close 4th over C&D in higher grade .

1/4pt  win Marie’s Secret

2.12 The late playing Anonymous Guest was a close 3rd over C&D recently , and off 4 pounds lower , is likely to get involved late on .

1/4pt  ew Anonymous Guest @ 9/1

3.22 PREMIUM RACE

4.57 A very open handicap sprint but the late playing Four Adday remains on a winning mark , hasn’t been far away of late and has decent form over C&D .

1/4pt ew Four Adday @ 14/1

4.32 Box To Box is a talented and determined prominent racer and could be up to defying the 3 pound hit in this open event .

1/4pt win Box To Box @ 11/2

5.07 It’s hard getting excited about the prospects of most of these . Marsh Benham landed a double earlier in the season and recent efforts quite encouraging .

¼pt  ew Marsh Benham @ 8/1

5.40 An open finale but we can expect another good run by the consistent Media Guest , who was a good 2nd over C&D off this mark recently .

1/4pt  ew  Media Guest @ 9/1

Selected Brighton – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky track

1.45 A modest nursery and it could be the consistent Birkie Girl’s day , as crucially she’s run well here before .

1/4pt  win Birkie Girl @ 9/2

2.55 The quick ground won’t help the back to form Broad Appeal , and at the ratings , dual C&D winner Cloudy Rose gets the nod over another proven over C&D in Control .

1/4pt  win Cloudy Rose @ 10/3

4.40 PREMIUM RACE

5.15 The veteran Boom The Groom is nothing like the top sprint handicapper he was 7 years ago, winning off marks in excess of 100 , but is still enjoying his racing at a reduced level and this front runner is a C&D winner . He comes here in fine form and is taken to make every post a wining post . The fav is recent C&d winner Cuban Grey , but that win came on soft ground and off a five pound lower mark .

1/2pt win Boom The Groom @ 11/2

4.55  Edison Kent comes here on the back of two good seconds at this trip, Nudged up the ratings but a useful 7 pound claimer takes over .

1/2pt  win Edison Kent @ 5/2

5.30 Top flat trainer runs Topkapi , who runs in the colours of Epsom Derby winner from the early 70’s in Mill Reef . With sean Bowen aboard has to be worth a dabble .

Selected Southwell – all weather – tapeta

4.15 The big drop in the ratings has understandably seen improved runs from Meng Tian of late and comes here on the back of a solid 3rd of 12 over C&D last time in higher grade . Down again the ratings and this won’t take much winning .

1/4pt  win Meng Tian @ 7/2

4.50 & 5.25

Both races has some incredibly well bred and expensive newcomers racing in famous colours . These are very much above average maidens , especially for this track and are must watch races . Likely to be plenty of winners coming from these contests.

No Bets

6.30 Club Manager was an easy winner at this trip in the Nottingham mud , but the 6 pound hit will surely test and is 0 places from 2 runs on tapeta. Papa Rico finished strongly to land a lesser event here last time over a bit shorter but still has claims in an uncompetitive heat . The nod goes to the consistent down in ratings and grade Wannabe Grand , who handles this surface well .

1/4pt  win Wannabe Grand @ 4/1

7.00 Well gone are the days when Fluvius Titus was winning handicaps for the top stable of Roger Varian in the mid 90’s , but he is certainly enjoying his racing and brings strong form to this event . A good 2nd over C&D has been followed by two good placed efforts on turf. Not a big ask.

1/2pt win Fluvius Titus @ 10/3

7.30 After landing a classified at Redcar at this trip, doing very well to win at the terms , Barolo has run creditably off her new mark and was beaten just over a length at Newcastle last time , and this more benign track will suit .

1/4pt  ew  Barolo @ 16/1

8.30 Blue Hawaii is rated 108 over hurdles , which is around 75 on the flat , and may well to be worth a play in a winnable looking finale . He went close over C&D earlier in the season and backed that up with a win in the Nottingham mud . This is only his 3rd race on the flat at middle distance or further and despite returning from a 4 months break , does have a good record running fresh .

1/4pt  ew Blue Hawaii @ 12/1
