She’ll finish like a Rat(oute) out of a drainpipe in the 2.15

Ratoute Yutty 2.15 @ 7/1

Selected Worcester – good ground on this flat and galloping track

3.03 The lightly raced Ballygoe was bang in contention  here last time out in his first handicap , until finding the 3 mile trip too far and the drop in trip likely to see him in a far better light in a race where few have a serious chance.

Selected Chester – soft ground on this flat and sharp track

Low numbers in the draw and prominent racers hold an edge

1.30 You always have to have a close look to any front runner here drawn in stall 1 and Militia is a C&D winner  and a dual winner on soft ground . He’s a little bit high in the weights, but his comeback spin was better than his finishing position suggests and if he secures an early lead , could take some pegging back .

½ pt  win Militia @ 11/2

2.05 PREMIUM RACE

2.40 The Dee Stakes and question marks against quite a few of these . Cresta, Dubai Poet  and Harrow are very unlikely stayers while Mr McCann has never raced on ground this soft before . Aidan O’Brien had a fine day here yesterday and runs the lightly raced Star Of India , a respectable 5th of 6 in a Newmarket Group 3 last time , but another with a question mark regarding trip . Sonny Liston was a surprise but impressive winner on his debut and then had 9 months off the track , and ran to his level in a Listed race at Newmarket . His sire is an influence for soft ground and is related to a stack of middle distance useful winners , rated from 109- 116 ! He’s the outsider , but has to be worth a nice play .

½ pt  win Sonny Liston @ 9/1

3.10 The Group 3 Ormonde Stakes , and mostly useful types and plenty proven on the ground . The short priced fav is the very useful mare Albaflora , who comes to hand early and also has a clear edge at the ratings but she is a late player , not ideal at all for this track. Thunderous has been in and out of late , but he’s no slouch , is nicely drawn and handles soft ground well and this prominent racer has the form in  the book to run a big race .

Selected Huntingdon – good ground on this flat and galloping track

1.40 The youngsters in Saligo Bay and Rhebus Road are both on marks at least a stone above the quality of their form , so hard to fancy them , despite Saligo Bay being an odds on fav , and a Let Me Be showed zilch when pulled up in his comeback spin , the pair to concentrate upon are Daniel Deronda and Tecnological , but looking at what they’re bringing into the race , neither of these ae bombproof, but the latter did land a 3 runner handicap off a 4 pound lower mark at Exeter , which brought his stamina into play . This more benign track is not ideal , but a positive ride could see the others in  trouble  .

¼ pt  win Technological @ 9/2

2.15 Ratoute Yutty has been dropping like a stone in the ratings, with not a great deal of encouragement , but was gambled on when winning over C&d two starts back, beating a reliable yardstick in Lily Glitters and backed that up with just an OK run at Southwell , but that track doesn’t suit every racehorse . The way she won , she could well make light of the 5 pound higher mark as there are at least 4 front runners to give this late player an ideal race make up . Lovely ew play , at least .

Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack

5.00 Very few have a  shout In this but the drop in trip and wide draw wont help track regular Irish Times . The prominent racing Deevious Beau can be relied upon to run  his race , but has is first ever run on polytrack after 24 visits to the racetrack, which has to be a negative and is also partnered by a very inexperienced rider in this race for amateur jockeys. The inform Kath’s Tomboy has responded vey well to the drop in the ratings coming here on the back of 2 seconds and is proven at the trip and surface and has the best amateur around in Simon Walker in the saddle . He doesn’t win many but this is a clear opportunity .

½ pt  win Kath’s Toyboy @ 5/2

6.00 Inclement Weather was a good winner at Kempton last time , first go at this trip . Nicely drawn and 3 pound hit keeps her competitive . Last Date is a 3 time course winner and has run well over C&D the last twice , off this mark . he’s badly drawn , and there are others in the field who like to get busy early but if managing to get front rank, sees this out well and worth a dabble .

¼ pt   ew  Last Date @ 9/1

6.30 The short priced fav is recent impressive Ayr winner Espresso, but fair to say he had the run of the race that day , and despite his opening mark looking generous , this is a very competitive heat .

No Bet

7.00 The recent winners Hey o Let’s Go and Wings of Dove both like to get busy early but both are now on testing marks , as too is another recent winner in Sir Gregory , who is likely ro struggle down trip . Another in form early pacer is Bernard Spierpoint, but he struggled off this new mark when last seen 3 months ago and is far more potent on tapeta . With so many vulnerable prominent racers , a decent chance can be given to veteran Your Cool , 4 times a C&D winner , well drawn and not beaten far in a better race over C&d last time . The strong pace will suit this late player but the young jockey is seriously struggling for winners . Still worth a try .
