3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Iconique 1.30 @ 9/2
Petite Rhapsody 2.10 @ 9/2
Hamaki 4.00 @ 5/1
Selected Haydock – soft ground on this flat and galloping track
1.30 The front running Storm Chaser was absolutely gifted an apprentices handicap last time under an enterprising ride , and caught the other riders cold and came home by a facile 28 lengths ! He has no penalty and likely to try and make all again , but a few of these like to race handily and the fav could be vulnerable down in trip and on soft ground . Iconique is rarely far away, two good places this season and an unlucky run when badly drawn at Chester . she also likes to get busy early and is proven at the trip and going . My only concern is that the usual hood is missing , but her win came without the blinds .
1/2pt win Inconique @ 9/2
2.00 Go Beyond’s best run came over C&D in the mud off around this mark when held for a late charge . Not disgraced at all last time and this looks winnable.
1/4pt ew Go Beyond @ 9/1
2.30 PREMIUM RACE
3.00 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 A very open handicap with plenty of runners dropped to good marks and now encountering their favourite ground . Aristoblus lost little in defeat last time out over C&D in the mud off this mark and a similar effort could be good enough .
1/4pt win Aristoblus @ 9/2
4.00 A good looking Class 3 handicap for 3yos and all are running well and in with a chance. Hamaki was well backed on his comeback spin at Sandown and today’s longer trip and softer ground can see him improve upon that good 3rd .
1/2pt win Hamaki @ 5/1
Selected Perth – good ground on this flat and sharp track
1.40 Hard seeing odds on fav Noble Birth failing .
2.10 The bang in form Petite Rhapsody runs this track very well and despite being closely matched with both Go Bob Go and Glen Ava on C&D form., comes out with a slight edge at the ratings and he also has a cracking attitude in the finish .
1/2pt win Petite Rhapsody @ 9/2
3.10 The handicapper has done recent C&D novice hurdler winner Copperwell no favours and despite being a bit in and out of late , Punxsutawney Pete is weighted to strike .
1/4pt win Punxsutawney Pete @ 3/1
3.40 Another badly handicapped Gordon Elliott runner in Getaway Goldie and worth risking Get Out Of The Gate around his favourite C&D and has dropped to his last winning mark.
1/2pt win Get Out Of The Gate @ 11/2
4.10 Worth a dabble on the well handicapped Get With It in a winnable heat .
1/4pt win Get With It @ 4/1
4.40 Understandable that Iron Heart is a warm order for this having run well in both tries at this trip off this mark , but this hold up type is hard to win with . Preference is for the well handicapped Topkapi Star .
1/4pt win Topkapi Star @ 5/1
Selected Yarmouth – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.50 An apprentice handicap and some of these are very inexperienced . The front running Engrave is down to a good mark and in this kind of race up front is usually the place to be .
1/4pt win Engrave @ 11/1
2.20 Not a deep race and after a good run on the all weather at this trip and mark, and previously ran well here , but found the trip too far , decent chance for Mighty Mind . Young Winston has some race winning form In the book, but form is In and out for no reason .
1/4pt win Mighty Mind @ 3/1
2.50 Lord Uhtred is most interesting as his value soared from an already lofty £200,000 to £520,000 !! from yearling to 2yo , so they are clearly expecting great things , but it may not be today as Charlie Hills has a poor record here and is 0 from 6 with 2yos . I’m with the Godolphin newcomer , they have a smart record here .
1/4pt win Princeville @ 11/4
3.20 Western Writer just gets the nod over Conservative at the ratings , but is 5/4.
3.50 PREMIUM RACE
4.20 It’s easy putting a line through Must Be Royale’s last run as it was on soft ground and previously had run two most solid races to hit the frame , one over C&D .
1/4pt win Must Be royale @ 5/1
Selected Newbury – good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.20 Trusty Rusty simply bolted in last time in a rare run on turf ,but the 12 pound hit very much looks a stopper . Navy Drums and Taaqat have showed well enough to be a factor while Secret Handsheikh is starting to respond to the massive decline in the ratings. Pull The lever ran a good race here last time out in a competitive handicap over 6 furlongs and does shape as the drop in trip would suit .
1/2pt win Pull The lever @ 8/1
6.28 The eagerly awaited debut of the £550,000 as a foal , Chaldean and as Andy Balding has a great record with his 2yos here , certainly worth a play .
1/2pt win Chaldean @ 5/1
7.03 Flamenca Fan won well at Windsor in a maiden dropping to this trip for the first time and on quick ground , and despite the placed horses doing little for the form has to be considered . The handicapper looks to have a grip of Makarova now but Lil Guff ran well enough off this mark at Royal Ascot to give her a good shout too . In a tight race to call, Crazy luck has been knocking at the door and could open .
1/4pt win Crazy Luck @ 9/4
7.38 Hard to call between Daquiri and Admiralty House .
8.06 The short priced fav is the prolific Wonder starelzaam who has no penalty for his smart win last time , but the drop in trip could test . All of Star of Valour, Pledge of Honour and Hotspur Harry have been going well at the trip, ground and mark , but the latter is missing his usual Cheekpieces , so that can’t be seen as a positive . Millions Memories is a bit in and out but ran very well last time and has hit the frame in both runs here . Lovely longshot .
1/4pt ew Millions Memories @16/1
Selected Epsom – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky circuit.
6.36 Newcomer Benacre will have to run to s good level to get the better of Woodcote 2nd Self Praise, who ran well at this trip last time .
1/2pt win Self Praise @ 4/5
7.11 Bowman was a shock winner here on Derby Day , beating a big field from the front , but the 6 pound hit will surely test as will the drop in trip . Papa Cocktial and Pocket the Profit could also find things happening a bit quickly so chancing Dubai Hope a decent 5th on polytrack last time but having a first ever run on turf but the others have plenty to prove too and worth chancing this consistent sort .
1/4pt win Dubai Hope @ 11/2
7.45 Larado failed by only a nose last time out and stays on the same mark and drops in class. He is a course winner and if able to take them along , like last time , could take some catching .
1/2pt win Larado @ 7/2
8.15 This will take little winning and despite a stiff 4 pound hit , racing on ground quick enough and never having raced on a track like this before , Sagateur can land the hat-trick .
1/4pt win Sagateur @ 4/1
8.50 It took Boy George 30 tries before breaking his deserved duck , after so many close calls. He’s switched to turf of late with great success and also switched to front running and comes here on the back of a neck 2nd at Brighton at this trip and ground . He’s a nasty 2 pounds higher and may not have it his own way up front tonight , but this reliable sort hard to ignore . Night Eagle was well supported when winning on polytrack and is up 5 pounds , which takes him out of his comfort zone , especially going up in trip .The consistent prominent racing Myriad is well drawn and likely to be bang there again .
1/4pt win Boy George @ 7/2
