I have just the one piece of advice at Cheltenham , on a very tricky card , and it’s for Members only .
Selected Newmarket – good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
1.50 After a quiet debut at Ponty in the mud, Almarada Prince landed his next 3 starts , carrying a penalty and a double penalty in the process , quite a feat . This prominent racer has a win at Hamilton on good ground on his CV , so this stiff C&D shouldn’t be an issue , and looks to be on a lofty yet manageable mark . The early pace comes from the high drawn runners , so fine in 10 , and if he was with a more fashionable stable would be much lower odds .Paul Mulrennan rides the track very well.
1/2pt ew Almarada Prince @ 20/1
3.00 The evergreen Commanche Falls was a close 2nd in this last year and considering his rating puts him at the top of the class in this Group 3 sprint , looks a good bet at the odds . Is nicely drawn amongst the early pacers .
1/2pt win Commanche Falls @ 7/1
3.35 On the ground and over this C&D , a chance is taken on one of the longshots in Sons And Lovers , successful in his debut last season at this track and extra furlong looks a bonus .
1/4pt win Sons And Lovers @ 16/1
5.20 The late playing C&D winner Catch The Paddy runs very well when fresh and despite a career high mark , this has a winnable look to it .
1/4pt win Catch The Paddy @ 8/1
1.57 The in form pair of Hostelry and Do I Dream will both handle the deep ground , but both have stiff looking nudges up the ratings . Poet’s Dawn was a close 2nd in his reappearance last year which came over C&D in the mud off a 2 pound higher mark and looks a very lively longshot .
1/22pt ew Poet’s Dawn @ 16/1
3.42 Karmalogy started his belated career turning over a 1/10 shot in a 2 horse race and subsequent efforts show that to be no fluke . He ended the season with a 2 lengths 4th in a Newmarket soft ground handicap and stays on the same mark and this course winner gives the impression the extra yardage will suit.
1/2pt win Karmology @ 6/1
4.17 PREMIUM RACE
4.52 This has a winnable look to it and the consistent Summit was a good 2 lengths 5th at York off a 2 pound higher mark in the mud at the end of last season , form which gives her high hopes in a modest heat .
1/4pt win Summit @ 3/1
Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack
5.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.00 Plenty of in form types here , but all penalised and the likes of Kitty Foyle, Greek Giant and Lawman’s Blis better on tapeta. Fox Flame is fine over this type of C&D snd remains on a workable mark .
1/4pt win Fox Flame @ 4/1
8.30 The front running Shallow has done little wrong in a light career and is 2 from 2 over C&D , but the 7 pound hit looks stiff , despite her likely to have her own way up front . The reliable late playing Mart can swoop late .
1/2pt win Mart @ 9/4
