3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Oriental Art 3.20 @ 11/4
Itacare 4.13@ 3/1
Castana Dia 5.45 @ 11/4
Selected Brighton – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and very tricky track
1.00As Both T Maxie and Wiley post are both now on stiff marks following wins over C&D, preference is for another C&D winner in Haveoneyerself , a back to form 2nd last time at Yarmouth and is partnered by 7 pound claimer Taylor Fisher , who has an unenviable record of 0 from 38 ! but has gone very close a few times of late and it’s a case of when he’ll ride a winner and not if . The tip is a late player and there should be a good enough pace to sit off .
1/4pt win Haveoneyerself @ 3/1
1.35 True Horizon is clearly the form horse and has an advantage of at least 24 pounds over the others but this ex-Irish returns from a 9 months absence , drops in trip . and has never raced on ground this quick , so would you want to be on at 1/2 ?
2.10 Looks a match between Rock Girl a close 2nd in a nursery last time off this mark and trip ,but on her favoured all weather surface . Grace Angel has easily the best turf form and is preferred .
1/4pt win Grace Angel @ 13/8
2.45 The front running track specialist Junoesque has struggled the last twice since the handicapper got very serious and in a weak heat , looks good for the reliable Sisterandbrother, but is new to the track and the good stable has little luck here
1/4pt win Sisterandbrother @ 11/8
3.20 Yet another Sir Mark Prescott 3yo is the fav in Eagle’s Way , who like all of his 3yos , finally go up to a more appropriate trip , but bare form not great and first try on quick ground. World without Love is consistent but the drop in trip wont help and preference is for the consistent if luckless Oriental Art , who could deservedly finally break his duck with good form at around the trip and ground .
1/2pt win Oriental Art @ 11/4
3.55 Pimlico was very much a shock all the way winner at Windsor last time but would do well overcoming a 5 pound hit , but not out of it . The Covex Kid started the season on a very low mark and duly landed a hat-trick but was held off a lower mark last time but a talented 3 pound claimer takes the reins . Poetic Force got the better of Darval over C&D a few starts back but on 3 pounds better terms, I smell revenge .
1/4pt win Darval @ 4/1
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Catterick – good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
1.45 Dream Point won this off a 2 pound higher mark last season but was in good form at the time, not like now , coming here on the back of 2 poor runs, The usually consistent Saulire Star was tailed off at Ponty last time, finishing an exhausted horsey and would rather just watch him today despite this being most winnable . Jamih has run some of his best races here and has one of the best jockeys in the race in a contest for amateur riders, but his only win came 4 years ago !
2.20 The drop in trip won’t be an issue for the form horse Glorious Angel but does carry the dreaded penalty and there are a couple of possible newcomers in the field. Lola’s Moment has the form to be a contender but flopped badly last time.
2.55 The front running C&D specialist Langholm is now on too high a mark while both Manigordo and Abduction are trying their supporters’ patience, still failing to get their noses in front . Gometra Ginty runs this C&D well and remains on a workable mark and a nice ew play .
1/4pt ew Gometra Ginty @ 11/1
3.30 A severe toss of the coin between Fast and Loose and Grantley Hall .
4.05 Despite a 3 pound hit the nod goes to recent winner Abate , who still comes out the best at the weights in a field where most have something to prove .
1/4pt win Abate @ 9/4
4.37 A rotten maiden which can be safely left alone .
No Catterick placepot
Selected Uttoxeter – good ground on this mostly sharp and undulating track with a long galloping straight .
1.55 The consistent Tarseem’s mark has been yo yoing of late but a close 4th over C&D recently off a higher mark is race winning form .
1/4pt win Tarseem @ 2/1
2.28 The clear form horse is Betty’s Banjo, but does shoulder a penalty and takes a big drop in trip ??
3.03 A weak maiden and the short priced fav is recent bumper winner Fenna’s Loss .
3.38 The clear form horse is the back to form Judge Earle , but is 0 from 6 at this trip, but has won over further .
1/2pt win Judge Earle @ 5/6
4.13 The 4 timer seeking You Name Him has a stiff penalty and has never won in this grade despite frequent attempts. Itacare is a reliable young stayer , who has been close up the last twice and this looks easier .
1/2pt win Itacare @ 3/1
4.43 Kauto The King responded excellently to the big drop in the ratings, the drop in trip and switching to front running and off just a 4 pound higher mark, the 4 timer beckons against beatable rivals .
1/2pt win Kauto The King @ 6/4
5.13 With a strong pace assured, this will suit the late playing Guidedbyscience, who is on a stiff enough mark but waiting tactics were overcooked last time and still ran well to be 3rd over C&D.
1/4pt win Guidedbyscience @ 9/2
Selected Yarmouth – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.45 The short priced fav is handicap newcomer Kodiac Sign , who is on a very fair mark and runs for high profile owners , The Derby winner !, and runs for the Stoute stable . He may get a soft lead up front but I prefer the chance of the improved Castana Dia a good close 5th off her new mark last time and in 5 runs here has 2 wins and 3 places . She is unexposed at this trip and the young apprentice rides here very well .
1/2pt win Castana Dia @ 11/4
6.15 The fav is the Godolphin runner Princeville , a good 2nd here on debut but didn’t look to be crying out for a drop in trip . Al Dassim has arguably the better form at this trip but has left Clive Cox , but joined an up and coming stable , but has been off the track 2 months ??
6.50 Star of St Louis landed a fast ground handicap over C&D last time out , beating a useful yardstick but at the weights , could have to work hard to justify short odds , and the rest are much of a mediocre muchness .
7.50 Only 3 go and a chance can be given to all. The Fav is recent Kempton winner Spangled Mac , and has no penalty but a bit to prove on quick turf . Noya comes here on the back of big run at Newbury in a bunched finish and the winner has won since under a penalty . May well get the run of the race and star 5 pound claiming apprentice Harry Davies is now in the saddle.
1/2pt win Noya @ 2/1
8.20 PREMIUM RACE
8.50 Love Trophy Power is on a fair mark in her handicap debut but the drop in trip makes ex-Irish Meganseighteen the pick after she was well backed when a good 3rd at this trip on debut .
1/4pt win Meganseighteen @ 2/1
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
6.00 The ex-Irish I Doubt That was a huge market mover backed in from very long odds into 11/4 for a stable very much struggling for winners. He drops in trip and is up for 5 pounds , so the double could be out of reach. The in form Gilbert is hard to rule out , on a fair mark and trip fine while Think Trigger is looking capable of a win off this mark and was an unlucky 3rd over C&D last time . Happy to watch .
6.30 River of Stars brings comfortably the best form to the table but is new to polytrack and 3 of her rivals have already run well for good stables and open to any amount of improvement . Wouldn’t advise ploughing in on the fav at short odds .
7.00 The free going Liberation Day has the best of the draw , has a useful 3 pound claimer aboard , has run well on this surface before and brings better form to the table then chief rival Beau Roc .
1/2pt win Liberation Day @ 5/4
7.30 PREMIUM RACE
8.00 PREMIUM RACE
8.30 Despite frequent nudges up the ratings , Porfin held his form pretty well and no issue with this C&D and has run well after a break before .
1/4pt win Porfin @ 4/1
