Selected Galway – heavy ground on this undulating and stiff track

1.16 Affordable Fury ended last season with two mighty runs , 2nd in both The Albert Bartlett at The Cheltenham Festival on soft ground and 2nd in The Punchestown Festival . Should get his chasing career off to a winning start .

1/2pt double Affordable Fury @ 4/6 Liari 2.19 @ 11/10 – double pays 5/2

1.51 The late playing The Dabbler has a very good record at this track and despite recent form not bei9ng as good as it could have been , he’s hard to ignore in a winnable heat .

1/4pt win The Dabbler @ 9/1

2.26 PREMIUM RACE

4.10 The useful chaser Barnacilla comes here on the back of two very big runs over fences , including a close 2nd here , and switching back to hurdles , which shouldn’t be an inconvenience , off a stone lower mark . Looks a very good bet .

3/4pt  win Barnacilla @ 7/2

Selected Aintree – good to soft on this flat and galloping track

12.50 PREMIUM RACE

1.25  Many of these veterans are still racing at a good level , and this looks wide open , but the nod goes to the progressive Jimmy The Digger , a winner first time back last season and went on run some big races off around this mark , including on soft ground .

1/4pt  win Jimmy The Digger @ 4/1

2.00 A crackerjack of a Grade 2 handicap chase and a handful of these come here in proloific form , but all of Hang In There, Jetoile and Courtland are now racing off very stiff marks . Hitman was 2nd in this last year , beaten narrowly and off around the same mark . Not an easy task , but class should prevail .

1/2pt  win Hitman @ 7/2

2.35 It doesn’t looka deep novice hurdle and I prefer the chance of the ex-French Jagwar, 2nd in a valuable Auteuil novice hurdle in his only run over the dual bumper winner Inthewaterside on this speed track .

1/4pt  win Jagwar @ 5/1

3.10 Last year’ Scottish Grand National hero Kitty’s Light makes his seasonal reappearance over hurdles over a trip far too short , so despite being on a good mark , won’t be troubling the judge today . Crambo certainly knows where the winning line is , but drying ground not in his favour . Santos Blue and Dare To shout both come here with clear claims but the nod goes to the front running Houvari , at home on a speed track and on a competitive opening mark .

1/4pt  win Hourvari @ 7/2

Selected Wincanton – very soft ground on this flat and galloping track

1.44 PREMIUM RACE

2.19 The ex-French Liari has useful flat form , including on soft and has joined a top stable .

4.04 The 7 pound penalty is less of a worry than the switch to deep ground for recent Kempton winner . Gyenyame was consistent if modest on the flat , and he stays all day . He was an all the way winner over C&D on good to soft last season , form that puts him on a workable handicap mark , and we can expect another good run . I’d have been more confident if it wasn’t for so many other prominent racers.

1/4pt  win Gyenyame @ 8/1
