Migration to move away in the 4.40

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

Migration 4.40 @ 8/1

Mr Yeats 2.20 @ 11/4

Guy 3.37 @ 10/3

Selected Newton Abbot – good ground on this flat and sharp track

2.20 The admirably consistent Mr Yeats has taken his form to a new level since tacking much longer distances and after landing a double over C&D , he lost little in defeat when a good2nd at Uttoxeter off this mark , and the opposition not awesome.

1/2pt win Mr Yeats @ 11/4

3.30 Maroochi has more on her plate after dead heating over C&D with a 5 pound penalty , and also up in grade , but should still give her supporters a good run in a race with few strong contenders . Sabrina finished last season strongly with two fine runs , the last a cracking 3rd in a valuable mares handicap, but  as she started the season slowly , prefer to just watch today . Watergrange Jack hasn’t had many chances handicapping , but his last two runs were really good, running the prolific Soul Icon close and then spreadeagling a field at Chepstow , making all . Could be ahead of the game despite the 10 pound hit .

1/2pt  win Watergrange Jack @ 7/1

Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this mostly flat and sharp track

3.37 The admirably consistent Guy just can’t nail one , but he was second in this race last season and as his rivals have no good record running fresh . Could be a well deserved win .

1/2pt win Guy @ 10/3

4.14 The Class dropper Baby Ben is an interesting outsider as she showed in her final run of last season that she has an engine as she moved smoothly through the field , then opened up what looked like a race winning gap , but the jockey did a bit too much too soon , and she fell into an enormous hole after jumping the last . She drops 5 pounds and in grade and this former pointer likely to be a stronger proposition over fences and races for a top and prolific stable .

1/2pt  ew  Baby Ben @ 14/1

Selected Ascot – good to soft on this stiff  and galloping track

1.25 Trueshan has won this , The Champion Stayers , for the last two seasons and has the ground in his favour , but recent form has ben below par and there are plenty of alternatives in this. I’m with the progressive and consistent Coltrane , who has every chance at the ratings of running another big race , ground fine and is a course winner .

1/4pt  ew Coltrane @ 8/1

2.00 A crackerjack of a Champion Sprint and the short list is very long . Not a great deal of early pace and most of it is among the low numbers. Brad The Brief is 2 from 2 this season , since joining Hugo Palmer and his form entitles him to be bang there and is at his best on soft ground and put in a career best run at The Curragh last time , another stiff track. He looks like he’s been kept for a try at this having his first race for 5 months . Well drawn prominent racer .

1/4pt  ew  Brad The Brief @ 14/1

3.20 The ones likely to fight this out at the ratings are the 3yos Modern Games and Inspiral , but hard getting away from the very tough , prominent racing 4 timer seeking Jadoomi , who looks at least 3rd best and a very good ew play .

1/2pt  ew Jadoomi @ 8/1

4.00 Today is the Swan Song of the incredible Baaeed , the highest rated horse in the world and never been that hard pressed in his record of 10 wins from 10 tries . Number 11 looks a formality . Thanks for the terrific spectacles fella.  He is 1/5.

4,40 It’s very fair to say that Migration remains very much unexposed as the last time we saw him , almost did the impossible , coming from way back at Newbury , to be narrowly defeated by a useful Godolphin youngster , who had held his form very well since and is now rated 6 pounds higher on 111  making the tip’s mark of 109 looking well manageable . He’s a late player and there isn’t s great deal of early pace in this big field finale , and what there is , on the opposite side , but still hard to ignore , with ground and stiff track in his favour

1/2pt  ew Migration @ 8/1

Selected Catterick – soft ground on this undulating and sharp track

2.10 Thewaytothestars’ form is up with the best of these and as she’s run well at this trip and ground , could surprise .

1/4pt win Thewaytothestars @ 8/1

4.25 The well handicapped Cubana Havana is in good form and the way he’s been finishing off his races, this longer trip will suit . Proven on soft ground .

1/2pt win Cubana Havana @ 11/2

No Catterick placepot

Selected Stratford  – good ground on this flat and sharp track

1.40 After a wide margin win at Uttoxeter , youngster Gavin wad hit with a stonking 11 pound penalty , but backed that up with a 2 lengths 2nd off that mark . Has shaped encouragingly of late and 2 pound drop in a winnable heat of course helps .

1/2pt win Gavin @ 7/1

2.49 The bang in form Lucky Lover Boy , 3 wins and a 2nd in his last 4 , is only 4 pounds higher, which offers another good opportunity in a race far more about quantity than quality , Sufi only landed a selling handicap last time, but it was a better quality than the “ label “ and likely to run his race again and preferred over LLB , at this longer trip .

1/2pt ew Sufi @ 7/1

No Stratford placepot

Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta

4.50 Very few indeed come into this with high hopes in this low grade handicap which offers recent Southwell winner , Masqool a fine chance of the double , despite a 3 pound hit .

1/2pt win Masqool @ 6/5

6.00 With Serenity and  Income sure to bomb out , and neither having obvious credentials to land this ,the in form late playing pair of Cherish and Soi Dao are likely to fight this out . Both are nudging up the ratings , but holding their form well and both proven at trip and surface. Hard to split .

1/4pt  rev fc Cherish – Soi Dao

6.30 As expected, Monsieur Fantaisie put in a much improved effort last time in his first start for the top stable of Archie Watson . Up 2 pounds and new to the surface, but the stable does very well here and has found himself in a relatively soft race .

1/2pt win Monsieur Fantaisie @ 9/4

7.00 With plenty of early pace on in this modest sprint , a good opportunity for the in form Glamorous Breeze , a close 4th here last time off this mark and the drop in trip unlikely to faze him .

1/4pt  ew  Glamorous Breeze @ 8/1

7.30 Many question marks against plenty of these , one being against the lightly raced fav Sonniere Power , an easy winner of an uncompetitive Lingfield handicap , and 10 pounds higher, so plenty to prove . Old Port is 3 from 3 here and despite recent runs not being as good as they could have been is preferred to course specialist Desert Emperor , another who was entitled to do better of late .

1/4pt  win Old Port @ 9/2
