Selected Newbury – good ground on this flat and galloping track
2.40 Morghan impressed on debut winning here but could be vulnerable dropping a furlong and carrying the dreaded penalty . Whitebeam ran to a good level on debut over C&D and is preferred .
¼ pt win Whitebeam @ 7/2
3.15 Zabeir is another to impress on debut over C&D and is preferred to Falling Shadow, who has stronger form , but returns from a 5 months break and thus far has only raced on the all weather .
¼ pt win Zabeir @ 2/1

Selected Newmarket- good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
1.10 This looks a match between a couple of reliable and progressive 3yos in North Lincoln , a good 2nd over C&D last time and Truly Acclaimed , second twice and a 3rd in 3 runs this season and is proven at the trip and on a stiff track . Both are on workable marks but as crack 7 pound apprentice Harry Davies rides the tip, the allowance could be the deciding factor.
¼ pt win Truly Acclaimed @ 7/2
1.40 The longer trip wont help either Smeaton’s Light nor Castana Dia , who fought out the finish at Leicester last time but this looks good for the ultra consistent and resolute Dashing Dick, who made all for a smart win over C&D last time and the 2 pound hit looks well manageable in this contest .
½ pt win Dashing Dick @ 9/4
2.50 Soapy Stevens looks another In a ,long line of tough, useful and resolute middle distance runners from the Johnston stable and has been holding his form well off his new mark . Summer’s Knight was one of last season’s massive improvers , not unusual coming from the Sir Mark Prescott stable , with 5 wins from 8 tries , culminating with a cracking win winning at Haydock and despite resuming duties off a 9 pound higher mark , looks a young stayer with a future . Going Gone was very tough in the finish when winning at Epsom last time but up in trip on a stiffer track , makes this a big ask . Soapy for me with fitness assured and trip ,track and ground in his favour .
¼ pt win Soapy Stevens @ 4/1
4.35 This looks a match but the ever reliable Brazen Beau ran his race off his new mark last time and is preferred to As If By Chance , who has a hefty penalty and unproven on a stiff track , while the tip is.
½ pt win Brazen Beau @ 5/4

Selected York – good ground on this flat and galloping track – speed track
1.50 16 2yos and 13of them won last time out and 7 of these are unbeaten . The fav is the choice of the Amo syndicate , whose have had a cluster of juvenile winners and Miami Girl, took a bit of time to get going , but once getting organised , pulled clear for a wide margin win at Newmarket , so how will she cope on this very different track . Many of these were all the way winners , and as that style of horse is unlikely to be able to come off the pace , unlikely we’ll see something making all to victory . There are 6 front runners , all drawn between 7 and 16 , so those drawn low could find it tough getting into the contest , and the fav is drawn 4 . I’m with one who came smoothly off the pace winning on a speed track and on quick ground in Carmela , who was very professional and drawn 13 looks the place to be .
½ pt win Carmela @ 7/1
2,25 This looks a bit of a soft race for a Listed event and if Rolling The dice was trained by a more fashionable stable , she’d be much shorter odds as she ended the season with a 3rd in the May hill , behind the unbeaten Inspiral and the 2nd horse Prosperous Voyage , was 2nd In the 1000 Guineas ! The trainer has a very poor win record but she did win last year and Ben Curtis a positive booking . Nice longshot .
¼ p t ew Rolling The dice @ 25/1
3.00 This has a winnable look to it with the useful handicapper Rogue Bear going up In trip 2 furlongs and recent smart Kempton winner Bellochi, not so smart on turf . The front running and very determined Cockalorum started the season very well sand held his form very well but a combination of a hectic programme , racing frequently on deep ground and hen having to race off a very stiff mark all took its toll , but the handicapper’s cut some slack , he’s effective over C&D and the ground and worth chancing to being back to his best .
¼ pt ew Cockalorum @ 9/1
3.35 There was once a time when Stradivarius was invincible , by far the best stayer around , but has only won 6 of his last 14 races and his new rating of 118 looks about right . This trip is very much a minimum for him nowadays and I’m with recent Newbury winner Max Vega to spring a shock . The ground looked quick enough and the trip sharp enough when reappearing , but won impressively . He has always threatened to be a good horse and may finally have come of age .
¼ pt ew Max Vega @ 8/1

Selected Aintree -good ground on this flat and galloping track, speed track
5.50 The smooth travelling late playing Dublin Four could well be up the hefty 7 pound hit for a smart win at Chepstow , but he has the ground in his favour and a switch to a speed track no issue. The consistent Corran Cross beat a couple of reliable yardsticks at Haydock last time and despite a 4 pound penalty not out of this and handles good ground well . Another with clear claims is recent Perth 2nd Gaelik Coast but the ground and this kind of C&D represent ideal conditions for Barton Knoll , who remains in good form off this workable mark .
¼ pt ew Barton Knoll @ 7/1
7.00 The ultra reliable Paddy’s Motorbike ran another cracker last time out , that run coming over C&D at The National Meeting on similar ground . He was front rank throughout but kept on willingly plugging away , and in the end was a honourable 5th of 21 . He’s likely to be one of many up front tonight , but can keep it going all the way and a slight ease in the ratings can’t do any harm .

Selected Hamilton – soft ground on this undulating, stiff and galloping track
7.20 A good quality Class 3 handicap and the capable veteran Sir Chauvelain bids to go 4 from 4 here and win this for the 3rd time , but has a rare run back on turf and soft ground no help . The ex-French Get Shorty has impressed with his attitude and after a determined win in the Thirsk mud backed that up with a good 2nd at Ripon over 2 miles , off around this mark and this C&D in the mud may well suit.
¼ pt win Get Shirty @ 6/1
