Selected Uttoxeter – good to soft on this undulating , sharp track with a long galloping straight .
4.15 Rose Sea Has is a very bold front runner , who remains on a manageable mark , handles soft ground well and has a good record in Class 4 , 3 wins and 8 places in 14 tries . Can make his experience tell against dangers having their first try over fences .
1/4pt win Rose Sea Has @ 11/2
Selected Kelso – good to soft on this undulating , sharp track with a long galloping straight .
2.00 No shortage of early pace which will certainly be of assistance to the reliable Scots Poet , who held his form well after a smart win at Musselburgh and ran well in this race last year off around this mark and similar length of absence . Stable going well .
1/4pt win Scots Poet @ 5/1
2.30 After landing two bumpers very well , Esprit Du Potier ran a blinder in the Bumper at the Grand National meeting beaten just 4 lengths to be 6th of 20 . Looks a good one for big hitters .
1/2pt win Esprit Du Potier @ 10/11
3.00 Lucinda Russell has her team in fine fettle and saddles the short priced fav in Inis Oirr , who like two others in this small field, brings good hurdles form to the table but first try over fences, but very much gives the impression that this will be an insufficient test of stamina . The front running Brandy Mcqueen improved markedly throughout last season winning 4 times , and rarely far away , and ran a cracker at the Cheltenham Festival to be beaten just 5 lengths when 7th of 23, but as his stable is very quiet , the call goes to the consistent Swallows Song , successful on debut in a bumper and held his form well throughout the season . Stable going well .
1/2pt win Swallow’s Song @ 3/1
3.30 The race of the day , an ultra competitive Class 2 chase in which last year’s 1-2 , come back for a bit more , and in that race , the front running Gold Des Bois just got the better of the classy chaser Malystic , but on today’s softer ground , the placings could be reversed . Tommy’s Oscar is well worth his lofty rating of 150 and is a clear danger but the in form course specialist , Cedar Hill , 5 wins and 4 places from 12 tries here , would do very well to go in again under a stiff penalty .
1/2pt win Malystic @ 10/3
4.30 Lucinda Russell is 3 handed in this and stable jockey has plumped for the front running mud loving Camp Belan , who goes well fresh and is a C&D winner in the mud .
1/2pt win Camp Belan @ 3/1
The Pardubice , the eastern European equivalent of the Aintree Grand National , raced in Czechia . It’s certainly worth a try on last year’s winner Mr Spex, who was 3rd in the race the previous year when just a 7yo and Patrick Mullins has travelled across from Ireland .
1pt win Mr Spex @ 9/2
