Maybe another Brighton win in the 4.50

Today’s multi – yesterday 2 winners and a non runner

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

Fleurir 5.05 @ 7/2

Big Time Maybe 4.50 @ 7/1

Garden Oasis 7.00 @ 9/2

Selected Brighton – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky track

3.50 The luckless Deed Pole certainly deserves a win and ran another good race here last time on quick ground . He’s been shoved up a cruel 2 pounds for that narrow defeat , but opposition not formidable and does shape as this longer trip would suit .

1/4pt win Deed Pole @ 5/2

4.20 The short priced fav is the lightly raced Panning For Gold who responded very well to the switch to fast turf with an easy win at Yarmouth , giving them all a start and a beating, and could well be up to the 6 pound hit . Deep Spirit has become very well handicapped and this late player had no racing room whatsoever here last time , when travelling well . Worth a dabble .

1/4pt  ew Deep Spirit @ 11/1

4.50 All of these have a severe problem getting their noses in front , except for the revitalised Big Time Maybe , 2 recent wins and a close 3rd , with two of those runs coming here on quick ground . He’s only two pounds higher for his last win and if switching back to front running tactics, could be hard to pass. Josie Gordon rides him well.

1/2pt  win Big Time Maybe @ 7/1

Selected Southwell – all weather – tapeta

2.00 PREMIUM RACE

2.30 The dual C&D winner Prince Abu holds his form well and has dropped back to his last winning mark and is preferred to recent Kempton winner Mount Olympus , whose form on tapeta leaves him on a searching mark .

1/4pt win  Prince Abu @ 5/1

4.00 King Of York has become very well handicapped and does have some good form over C&D off higher marks . An overdue win could be on for this late player .

1/4pt win King Of York @13/2

4.35 It’s very hard to knock the consistent Kodebreaker , only out of the frame twice in his last 10 runs , and his last two wins have come here . He comes here on the back of two big runs on turf when placed and his last run here was over C&D , when a length 2nd off a pound lower mark . Up in grade , but it’s not a hot Class 5 . The danger is the lightly raced Barney’s Angel , a recent running on 3rd here over a furlong less .

1/4pt  ew Kodebreaker @ 8/1  1/4pt win  Barney’s Angel @ 9/1 . 1/4pt rev fc

5.05 This represents a tough task for the form horse in Slainte Mhath , up a stiff 5 pounds , up in trip , which hasn’t helped in the past , and a rotten record on tapeta . Fleurir has run well in all 3 starts , is on a fair mark now going handicapping and runs for a top stable . The drop in trip is not ideal , but is also proven on the surface .

1/2pt win Fleurir @ 7/2

5.35 The triple C&D winner Down To The Kid has struggled back on turf of late but prior to that won well over C&D off just a 2 pound lower mark , beating Greystoke , who went on to win very well next time and had another very useful yardstick in Forge Valley Lad back in 3rd . Bit Harsh ran pretty well to be 3rd last time at Chelmsford City, but is now on a stiff mark while the front running Arcadian Friend hasn’t fired the last twice . Typical Woman did well last time to be 3rd of 18 at Newbury , but is unproven on the surface.

1/4pt  ew Down To The Kid @ 10/1

Nothing of interest at Salisbury

Selected Ayr- good to firm on this flat and galloping track .

5.20 Indivar is certainly interesting as this £75,000 yearling , went for £250,000 as a 2yo . A bit short in the market .

No Bet

5.50 Viva Voce certainly has two ways of running and was on his best behaviour last time when giving them a start and a beating , for a narrow win . Up just a pound , and knows how to win better than the other worthy market leaders .

1/4pt win Viva Voce @ 7/2

6.25 Baez hasn’t been with the Jim Goldie stable for long , but in this time has run two big races here , both around this trip and this late player can make it third time lucky. Streetscape certainly has stamina to prove .

1/2pt win  Baez @ 7/4

7.00 The front running Garden Oasis has responded well to the big drop in the ratings and last time out did very well to secure the lead from the worst of the draw at Ponty , and only went down a length . He’s a C&D winner , likely to have his own way up front and bounces off fast ground . Hortador is very well handicapped on old form , but only 1 win in 3 years and quickening ground no help .

1/2pt win Garden Oasis @ 9/2

7.35 PREMIUM RACE

8.45 Ahamoment showed much improved form last time out at Musselburgh when switching to front running tactics , and as he’s the likely leader , could double up with the 4 pound hit . Still well handicapped on old form .

1/4pt win Ahamoment @ 7/2

Selected Wetherby- good to firm on this mostly flat and galloping track .

5.40 Not a deep race and it should be the day the consistent and strong staying Tarbat Ness loses his maiden tag .

1/2pt win  Tarbat Ness @ 7/4

6.45 Hard to oppose Fakhra , 2nd in a deep looking maiden on debut , but is way odds on .

7.20 Another uncompetitive race and the odds on fav is recent easy Nottingham fast ground winner in War Chant , and the switch to front running tactics was all that was needed. Up 6 pounds but looks ahead of the game , especially in this modest heat . The admirably consistent Annalee Lass is kept to soft ground or the all weather , so conditions clearly a concern . War Chant is another odds on shot.

No Bet

7.55 Beltane ran well on his debut for Mike Appleby but over this less demanding track, could be short of toe late on and the consistent Star Shield will again run his race and is preferred .
