3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Copper and Five 2.55 @ 7/2
Rum Going On 4.10 @ 2/1
Stunning Beauty 8.10 @ 7/2
Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this mostly flat and sharp track .
2.10 Give Me a Cloud won well on his hurdles debut at Stratford at around this trip and ground , and despite carrying the dreaded penalty , the opposition isn’t strong , but is only even money , so one for your multis .
2.45 When the money is down for an unexposed runner from the Laura Morgan stable, they often collect , making Fishing For Lies the selection .
1/4pt win Fishing For lies @ 2/1
3.20 The front running and hat-trick seeking Costly Diamond is only up 4 pounds for a good win last time but concerns regarding this track , as in 13 tries going right handed , hasn’t even hit the frame ! but I suppose connections feel it’s worth a try in this trial for the valuable Summer Chase coming up soon , just to see if his improvement has also spread to a right handed track. This is a deep contest and the fav is the David Pipe ex-French Defi D’Oudaires , who is certainly on a good mark examining his French form , and has run well on good ground , so hard to rule out . Pink eyed Pedro has become too in and out for my liking while the ground and the mark makes it tough for Corran Cross. The prolific Fire Away is only a pound higher for a narrow yet determined success at Cartmel and at nice odds is preferred . Statuario comes here on the back of two good runs and trainer Peter Bowen is 4 from 4 in this race !
1/4pt win Fire Away @ 9/1
Market Rasen placepot
Selected Redcar – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.55 This is likely to develop into a battle between the in form pair of Darkness , a close 3rd at Haydock and not disgraced since in hot big field handicaps, but C&D winner Copper And five is just a pound higher than his last win and shaped up very well at Thirsk when a good close 4th of 15.1
1/4p win Copper And five @ 7/2
3.30 On official ratings nothing between Juan Les Pins, form a bit in and out of late , True Blue Moon , who would prefer softer ground and also goes up in trip, and Hajjam and Eldelbar who fought out the finish in a similar contest over C&D last time out and as the tip , has a small weight pull , gets the nod .
1/4pt win Eldelbar @ 11/4
4.10 The admirably consistent Rum Going On was a close 2nd of 16 over C&D last time and the pound hit will have an effect , but opposition not strong , so a deserved win likely . Time To Rumble won well last time in the Carlisle mud and off a 4 pound higher mark , likely to find things happening too quickly today on a speed track and quick ground .
1/2pt win Rum Going On @ 2/1
5.21 The in form So Smart ran well last time on ground soft enough and off the same mark back on his preferred fast turf , is the one to beat in The Lucky Last .
1/4pt win So Smart @ 2/1
Selected Royal Ascot – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track .
2.30 Despite the big field, just the one front runner in Ibiza Love , who ran to a decent level when winning at Donny over a bit further , so her stamina will certainly help . If she can pinch a length or two , could take some reeling in .
1/4pt ew Ibiza Love @ 40/1
3.05 PREMIUM RACE
3.40 PREMIUM RACE
4.20 The 1000 Guineas Cachet lost nothing at all going for the double in The French equivalent when narrowly beaten by Mangoustine on easy ground . Her rival has the best of the draw, but has a first ever run on quick turf so considering her ability and proven on a quick surface , the tip is taken to upset the unbeaten sequence of Inspiral, 4 from 4 last year , but off the card a worrying 8 months .
1/4pt win Cachet @ 6/1
5.00 PREMIUM RACE
5.35 Changingoftheguard brings the best form to the table but is the least exposed and none of his rivals can be ruled out .
6.10 PREMIUM RACE
Small and uncompetitive fields and I’m just having a few plays
Selected Ayr- good to soft on this flat and galloping track
5.12 Time Quest ran a belter on debut splitting a couple of decent types which gives him the edge over the likely fav Asean Legend , whose recent comeback spin could have been better .
1/4pt win Time Quest @ 9/4
5.47 With the ease in the ground coming to her rescue , the consistent Iris dancer can overcome a 3 pound hit at the expense of the well handicapped but still very hard to win with Dandy’s Gold .
1/4pt win Iris Dancer @ 9/4
8.05 C&D winner Otto Oyl has no penalty for a determined win at Yarmouth and on ground he handles , gets the nod over hat-trick chasing Cosa Sara, a bit to prove at the ratings and ground , and was way behind the tip over C&D when the ground was riding easy .
1/2pt win Otto Oyl @ 11/8
Selected Newmarket – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
5.16 The longer trip and quicker ground are concerns for recent winner Legende d’Art , and the 3 pound hit no help of course . In an uncompetitive race, Bakersboy looks the safe option as he’s been holding his form well of late off around this mark.
1/4pt win Bakersboy @ 2/1
7.04 Very hard ruling anything out as they all come here in good form . You’d do well to find the winner .
7.39 Practically the opposite here with nothing coming here in convincing form .
8.10 Stunning Beauty runs this course very well , is just a pound higher for her last win and bounces off quick ground and this prominent racer could have her own way up front with the drop in trip very likely to suit . The fav is Nizaaka who has quite a bit to prove , up 3 pounds for running a close 2nd on easy ground and this her very first try on fast turf .
1/2pt win Stunning Beauty @ 7/2
No Newmarket placepot
Selected Goodwood – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
6.00 After an unlucky run last time, Nathaniel Greene is the likely winner , but I can pass at 6/4.
6.35 Red Flyer has certainly been finding the winning line of late and considering it took him 8 tries to win shed his maiden tag , is now 4 from 15 and was a clear winner at Newmarket last time , beating a couple of reliable yardsticks. Way of Life ran really well in his 6 timer bid, but still came up a neck short , and has a 4 pound penalty to overcome , but still respected.
1/4pt win Red Flyer @ 11/2
8.15 The short priced fav is recent Epsom winner New pursuit , so should be fine around this tricky track . The 4 pound hit looks manageable but won’t have the services this time of the very able 7 pound claimer , but the opposition isn’t convincing .
