Oliver’s Army to come out on top

Today’s Multi

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

Oliver’s Army 2.10 @ 11/1

Antagonise 2.50 @ 10/3

Luxy Lou 5.00 @ 11/4

Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack

1.00A very open 3yo handicap and I’m happy to play the recent Chelmsford City 50/1 winner Kanahura , as that was her first handicap , has gone up just 2 pounds , an able 7 pound claimer rides today and despite there being uncertainty regarding this longer trip on pedigree, nice odds to find out . She was given a prominent ride last time , and never looked like stopping .

¼ pt  win Kanahura @ 9/1

1.30 True Accolade is the odds on fav and comes here on the back of a smart win at Windsor , but I won’t be plying in at odds on as he carries a penalty , upped in trip, and the pedigree for staying could be more encouraging , and flattened out on debut at Kempton over a trip shorter than today . Kasai River picked  up encouragingly here on debut and with that experience under his belt and an extra 2 furlongs to negociate , could shock .

¼ pt   ew  Kasai River @ 25/1

4.05 A very weak finale and the form horse is clearly the long standing maiden Wings Of A dove , 0 from 17 , but will never get a better chance , but the nod goes to recent C&d close 5th Perfect Symphony  , who at least has showed he knows how to win .

¼ pt  win Perfect Symphony @ 9/2

Selected Redcar – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

2.10 Oliver’s Army ran well in his last two runs , both on fast turf on flat and galloping tracks, giving the impression that a longer trip would be very much in his favour and the pedigree backs that up . Plenty of unknown quantities in this but not keen on the Fav in Pub Crawl, who comes here on the back of two good 2nds but quicker ground today and longer trip unlikely to help as the furthest his siblings were effective at was 2 furlongs shorter than today .

½ pt   ew  Oliver’s Army @ 11/1

Selected Musselburgh – good ground on this flat and galloping track , speed track

2.50 This has the look of a match between the two form horses in Antagonise and Carter Cowboy , but the latter remains a maiden while the tip certainly knows how to win and returns after 2 months, his usual time of absence , and has the best of the draw .

½ pt  win Antagonize @ 10/3

3.25 Atiyah did very well to nail a competitive sprint at Chelmsford City last time as on paper she was one of many likely to undo their chance battling for early dominance , but they just didn’t see which way she went , coming home for a clear win . She’s actually 2 pounds lower switching to turf , and had some good form on grass last season , but off a lower mark , but she has looked an improved filly of late and this isn’t deep as the in form Thin Blue Line is likely to find the ground too quick .

½ pt  win Atiyah @ 5/2

4.00 This looks another match between a couple of prolific , tough and reliable types in recent Beverley winner Can Can girl , who I was with that day , and it wasn’t much of a race so could find it tough holding the prolific Colinton , 5 wins in his last 7 and is 4 from 4 at this trip . He beat a couple of in form types at Catterick last time pretty comfortably and likely to cope with the 5 pound hit .

½ pt  win Colinton @ 2/1

Selected Punchestown – good to soft on this undulating and galloping track

3.40 Another massive maximum field Punchestown handicap and many with a clear chance , but similarly to the bookies, I’m giving more of a chance to the lighter raced , thus unexposed and open to improvement and all of Ideal Pal, Hide and Seek Luke short and only sky have to be strongly considered but I give the nod to the English raider in Gin Coco , who’s only had 3 runs , all for different trainers , but has his 2nd run for Harry Fry , and looked really good last time and the trainer has a good record here .

¼ pt  win Gin Coco @ 5/1

4.15 The ultra consistent and very willing late playing Grange  walk is one of the most improved handicappers  around , as his first win was at the small track of Sligo off a mark of just 114, and races today off a mark of 141 , with every chance of coping with this lofty rating but in a race devoid of early pace, I’m with the lightly raced young mare Magic Daze , who looks likely to get her own way up front and goes handicapping on a very fair mark, and significant that the top trainer has aimed her in Graded company , and was a close 3rd in one of them .

¼ pt  win Magic Daze @ 6/1

4.50 A one off race , as runners race over the Grand National trip of 4 and a quarter miles on this Cross Country chase and plenty of these have good experience in this kind of race . British raider is Potters Corner , trained by the King of the Stayers Christian Williams , and his charge has good experience at Cheltenham in this sphere, but this is a very different type of track. The fav is track specialist Shady operator , trained by the master of Cross Country races in Enda Bolger , but does go up significantly in trip so I’m with last year’s shock winner in Singing Banjo to double up and showed it was no fluke with a good effort at Cheltenham .

¼ pt  ew  Singing Banjo @ 7/1

5.25 If Klassical Game is on his best behaviour , he’ll take some beating , but 6/4far too short for such a quirky character . Britain is represented by the once top dog in Stayers Hurdles in Paisley Park, but has never quite reached his peak of 2 years ago, but comes here on the back of a strong finishing 3rd in The Stayers Hurdle with Klassical dream a few lengths behind . This C&D may not be ideal and he’ll need a strong pace to bring out his stamina , and as a few of these like to front run , could loom up late and outstay them.

¼ pt  win Paisley Park @ 13/2

Selected Chepstow – good to firm on this undulating , galloping and quite stiff track

5.00 Luxy lou has gone close a few times to break her duck , including last time out when a close 3rd at Bath on quick ground , and has run well here before . It’d hard fancying any of her opponents on current form and on quick turf .

½ pt  win Luxy lou @ 11/4

6.45 The short priced fav is recent Bath winner Symbol Of hope , but it wasn’t a deep race and could struggle to double up with the hefty 5 pound hit . Equally Fast is very consistent , comes here on the back of a close 2nd at Lingfield, when held up and acts well both on quick turf and this C&d. Lovely ew play .

½ pt   ew Equally Fast @ 13/2

7.53 This looks quite a warm maiden with a number of top stables having runners earing famous colours but at the odds certainly worth a dabble on the 135 rated hurdler Ajero , a strong and determined front runner at home on quick ground and his rating equates to a lofty 94 on the flat . Doubt if he’s at that level without any obstacles in the way , but wont be the first hurdler to become a useful flat horse .

¼ pt   ew  Ajero @ 12/1

Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack

4.40 In a modest staying event , C&d winner Estrela Star comes here on the back of a good 2nd at Lingfield off this reduced mark and disappointing if this late player can’t get back in the winners’ circle .

½ pt  win Estrela Star @ 3/1

5.45 The consistent Soyonique was in the right place at the right time when landing an apprentice handicap at Lingfield last time , and has no penalty , but in previous races , this mark was looking tough enough . Sir Gregory is far more potent going right handed , Legende Art needs another furlong while Capla Spirit is far better on tapeta . The lightly raced Munificent narrowly failed to double up at Lingfield against a very much in form runner and off around the same mark , up to a trip which should suit , could go one better , despite the worst of the draw , but can be played late , so all is not lost at juicy odds .

¼ ptn  ew Munificent @ 12/1
