3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Chichester 2.25 @ 7/2
Haseef 5.15 @ 5/1
Wild Crusade 7.50 @ 11/4
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
11.25 I’ve been with the consistent if luckless Gidwa a few times of late and this late player is certainly shaping like a winner about to happen . He’s at his best on polytrack and if anything the step back up in trip will be of benefit . Very nicely drawn and with a strong pace assured , can come off the pace for another win . The admirably consistent Dors Toyboy , 3 wins and 3 seconds in his last 7 ! landed a modest handicap over C&D last time , but showed his customary grit in the finish to win going away , but the 5 pound hit and wide draw suggests this won’t be his day. Min Till has won 2 of his last 3 but the latest was on tapeta and in lower grade , so a bit to prove up 4 pounds switching to polytrack .
1/2pt win Gidwa @ 9/2
11.55 A tricky nursery as many of these go up in trip and quite a few try handicapping for the first time . Canadian Fire tends to run his race and was doing all of his best work late on at Chelmsford City . Down 2 pounds and longer trip should suit .
1/4pt ew Canadian Fire @ 10/1
12.25 Heather Main is an excellent trainer with an excellent record switching her horses to handicaps. She runs Flying Spirit , who is feasibly handicapped on his runs in maidens . Drops sharply in grade and connections had to fork out extra to keep hold of him as his value went up sharply from foal to yearling , often a good sign .
1/4pt win Flying Spirit @ 5/2
12.55 It’s understandable that recent Newmarket 4th Mexicali Rose is the short priced fav , as both the longer trip and switch to synthetics will suit on pedigree , but 6/4 short enough in a field with plenty of runner from top stables .
1.25 Another above average maiden and plenty to consider but at the odds hard to ignore the Sir Michael Stoute newcomer Wodhooh , who runs in famous colours, and related to some smart all weather winners .
1/4pt ew Wodhooh @ 20/1
1.55 Meishar had a fine time of things in Ireland last year , winning on this surface at Dundalk 4 times , the last win coming off a slightly higher mark than today . He struggled a bit off a testing mark for his new stable but has of late responded well to racing off a more competitive mark . He did well to be 3rd at Chelmsford City from a bad draw and this prominent racer sees the trip out really well . The fav is Mobashr , who returns from a 5 months absence for a new stable who does very well with new intakes . and despite a big drop in the ratings , hasn’t impressed for a while and would rather just watch him for now. The admirably consistent Mitronsonfire will give it his usual god go, but the wide draw will probably be too much to overcome .
1/4pt win Meishar @ 5/1
2.25 The step up in trip , the return to polytrack and the drop in the ratings were all very much in the favour of Chichester , who came off the pace very well at Chelmsford City last time , winning cleverly , and the 2 pound hit certainly keeps him competitive .
1/2pt win Chichester @ 7/2
2.55 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Ludlow good to soft on this flat and sharp track
1.15 Not a deep race and the clear form horse is the luckless Supervisor, who returns after another lengthy break, but goes well fresh and no issues with ground ,trip or mark .
1/4pt win Supervisor @ 15/8
2.15 One True King can be relied upon to run an honest race and despite being a few pounds high in the ratings and tackling a longer distance , has more going for him than the others .
1/4pt win One true King @ 8/1
3.15 The consistent Lady Glitters has been nudged up 2 pounds but this C&D winner has the ground in her favour , and main rivals prefer a better surface.
1/2pt win Lady Glitters @ 5/2
3.45 Nicky Henderson has a terrific record in bumpers here and both the wind op and tongue tie are positives for the top stable.
1/2pt win Brave Jen @ 9/2
No Ludlow placepot
Selected Haydock – soft ground on this flat and galloping track
1.05 Lady Bowes put in a series of very good runs last season , including over C&D off around this mark . Drying ground not ideal but still a nice ew play with doubts surrounding the market leaders .
1/4pt ew Lady Bowes @ 9/1
2.37 Nemean Lion is a very healthy rated 94 on the flat , but hadn’t been running to that level but looked really good when winning on hurdles debut and taken to overcome the penalty .
1/4pt win Nemean Lion @ 11/4
3.07 A case can be made for most of these but the very wonderful Chambard did nothing but improve last year and this consistent sort culminated the season with a long odds win at the Cheltenham Festival . Up 7 pounds , but he himself is on the up and more of a worry is drying ground.
1/4pt win Chambard @ 4/1
3.37 The ex- French Djelo sluiced in at Exeter on debut and the 7 pound hit looks manageable but does have a couple of serious rivals in the prolific Jungle Jack and the hat- trick seeking Ginger Mail , 1 from 1 in handicaps and won cleverly last time . Looks overpriced .
1/4pt win Ginger Mail @ 7/1
Selected Dundalk – all weather – polytrack
2.00 This stinks of a turn up and a couple of Gavin Cromwell maidens both ran respectably here last time , both indicating this shorter trip would suit . Both poorly drawn but worth dabbles at long odds .
1/4pt ew each Quick Blessing @ 50/1 Zentopia @ 28/1 Why not , a small rev fc
2.30 Linus Larrabee came from way back to land the bets over C&D last time . The 3 pound hit looks manageable and up against rivals with poor win records .
1/4pt win Linus Larrabee @ 11/4
3.00 Lion Ring comes here on the back of a narrow defeat over C&D. Just up a pound and can land this lesser contest .
1/2pt win Lion Ring @ 4/1
4.00 The well drawn front runner No Speed Limit will appreciate the extra furlong and can overcome a recent 2 pound nudge .
1/4pt win No Speed Limit @ 3/1
5.30 Turf Range signed off last season landing a track hat-trick and was penalised harshly for those wins . He showed up well over C&D last time and the 2 pound drop can only help .
1/4pt win Turf Range @ 13/2
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
4.15 PREMIUM RACE
4.45 A very ordinary nursery and most of these are going up in trip , but the way they’ve been finishing their races , looks a move of desperation . The very consistent Corinthian Kid went close off a slightly lower mark at Wolver and is proven on this surface. Nicely drawn and a nice ew play .
1/4pt ew Corinthian Kid @ 9/1
5.15 Haseef has naturally improved since the handicapper has showed a bit of heart and comes here on the back of a running on 4th over C&D , when caught out wide . Eased again in the weights, much better drawn and can run this modest field down late on .
1/2pt win Haseef @ 5/1
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
6.50 The clear form horse is Prince Of Zenda, 3rd in both runs and proven on the surface . Not that well drawn and mixed messages regarding stamina for this extra furlong , but very fairly priced up.
1/4pt win Prince Of zenda @7/2
7.20 PREMIUM RACE
7.50 A valuable Class 1 event with any number of in form horses . Goeman has won his last two in some style and despite needing to find more to succeed tonight , not out of this as neither is Bellochio after a very smart win in a handicap here , Godolphin are twin handed , the fav is the enigmatic Siskany . No doubting his ability but has been turned over a few times of late at short odds and this speedy C&d could well catch him out. Preference is for the Boys In Blue other runner , the progressive and willing Wild Crusade , a cracking 2nd over C&D last time when given a prominent ride and had a number of useful types trailing .
3/4pt win Wild Crusade @ 11/4
8.20 The admirably consistent Pons Aelius has a clear chance , again , and was narrowly beaten over C&D a few starts ago off around this mark, but 5/4 is very short . The very wonderful mare Sashenka just doesn’t know how to run a bad race , be it on turf,, synthetics or over hurdles , Now on a searching mark but again will run her race and has a good record on this surface .
1/4pt ew Sashenka @ 13/2
