Selected Ponty – good to soft on this undulating , galloping and very stiff track

2.15 Not much early pace at all in this and the well handicapped but hard to fancy Simulation Theory could have a soft time up front but has been badly out of sorts in all three runs this season , looking reluctant at times . Perfect Swiss has a terrific record here , 2 wins and 3 places from 7 starts and last time out , which came over C&D on similar ground , he was given a more prominent ride than usual and only failed by a short head , and just a pound higher today . If racing prominently again , could find his more serious rivals left with too much to do .

1/4pt win Perfect Swiss @ 15/2

2.50 A valuable and quality Class 1 , and not a great deal amongst all of these on official ratings . The ex-Irish Raadobarg likes to front run and could have his own way up front . This stiff C&D should suit as will the easier ground . He is closely matched with the useful Poker Face , who is 2 from 2 here , but I’m hoping the tip will be away and gone .

1/4pt win  Raadobarg @ 4/1

5.10 The front running Astropor is holding his form very well and did well last time on ground much softer than he likes , keeping on bravely to be 3rd . This kind of track and ground are ideal and is another one likely to have his own way up front under his regular jockey . He is now a few pounds high in the ratings ,but his rivals aren’t really threatening to land one.

1/2pt win Astropor @ 2/1

Selected Uttoxeter – good ground on this undulating and sharp track with a long galloping straight

2.35 A Different Kind was a facile winner of a small field handicap over C&D last time out , but it wasn’t a deep race and could struggle in doubling up with a 7 pound penalty and on much quicker ground , Pull Again Green is not going well while The Bomber Liston hasn’t won for a while and prefers softer ground . Quid Pro Quo comes here on the back of a win and 2 seconds , the latest being a smart effort over C&D on good ground . If ready to go after a 2 months break , could take some beating ,

1/4pt win  Quid Pro Quo @ 3/1

3.10 Landofsmiles has bounced twice since winning after a lengthy break and hard to expect any better today . Ruthless Article runs this C&D very well and was a close 2nd in the recent Summer Cup over C&D, where he had Fidux 10 lengths back in 3rd , but as this one has a 5 pound pull and also went for home a long wat out , a more reserved ride could reap rewards .

1/4pt win Fidux @ 7/2

4.20 Ron Burgundy won well at around this trip at Worcester last time when switching to front running tactics , but has two other front runners in the field today , so could struggle with a hefty 7 pound penalty . The consistent He’s A Cracker won’t be far away but supporters are jumping ship as he is now 0 from 12 . Joey Steel returned from another break with a close 3rd at Warwick and off the same mark, could nab an overdue win .

1/4pt win Joey Stee; @ 15/2
