Selected Goodwood- good ground on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
1.35 Lawful Command has won 3 of his last 4 , the latest coming over C&D , and course form is always a factor here . He led all the way and was very tough in the finish but is a nasty 3 pound higher today , not so well drawn and others in the field also like to dominate . Wodeton was back in 2nd that day , and is up 2 pounds , but Harry Davies takes the ride , claiming 7 , so has to be the pick .
¼ pt win Wodeton @ 4/1

3.20 A Class 1 and most of these have plenty of improvement in them. So hard o be sure but also hard to ignore the chance of the well bred front running Natural World . He was a good win at Newbury on debut , and the 2nd horse has won well since and last time out made a right fist of it in The Lingfield Derby Trial , again setting out to make all, but just run down by a pair who feature prominently in The Derby betting and from the best of the draw, I’m with him to make every post a winning post .
½ pt win Natural World @ 9/4

Selected Bath – good ground on this undulating , sharp and stiff track
1.10 The reliable Andre Amar comes to hand early and runs this trac very well , but the draw could have been chunks kinder . The luckless Babe Alicious has run well in both of her starts for Mike Appleby , especially last time out at Wolver , when front rank throughout and willingly went for home , but was picked up late on, only going down by 2 lengths . The drop in trip is certainly in her favour and she has form on similar C&Ds. Very well drawn for a front runner and this could be her day . A close and very dear friend of mine is one of the owners and she would be absolutely thrilled with The Babe doing the biz.
¼ pt ew Babe Alicious @ 8/1

2.55 Cuban Breeze has done very well since joining David Evans , never far away , and this C&D should be ideal as he was running on very well off this mark at Windsor over the minimum .
½ pt win Cuban Breeze @ 11/4
4.40 Mrembo comes here on the back of a determined win over C&D , but it wasn’t the greatest of races and the 6 pound hit looks most excessive . Delahoussie was closeup in 3rd and should certainly reverse placings but preference is for Rochebruie , a close 3rd over C&d off this mark in what looked a far deeper race and the front two have run very well since . The fav is the admirable Captain Kane , 3 wins and 2 places in 5 runs this season , all in handicaps and all on the all weather and surely the 6 pound hit and the switch to turf and drop in trip is all too much for him to cope with .
½ pt win Rochebruie @ 7/2

Selected Haydock – good ground on this flat and galloping track
4.45 Rich King did little wrong on his recent comeback spin with a close 2nd at Redcar , so this C&D should suit fine . Just a pound higher and the 3rd and 4th have both won since .
¼ pt win Rich King @ 9/2
Selected Worcester – good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.15 Captain Cobajay is back to his last winning mark , eventually , and ran a cracker over C&D on his preferred good ground at the end of last season , a close 2nd to the useful yardstick Sarasota Star , off an 8 pound higher mark and plenty of encouragement from his latest effort , 2nd run back from his break , when going well but hit the wall over a longer trip .
¼ pt win Captain Cobajay @ 4/1
5.45 Duc De Bourbon is 2 from 2 here and was highly impressive wining in his first chase last time, but will this come too soon , as his runs are usually well spaced out . The well handicapped Kauto The King , is a much more straightforward type and very able too.
¼ pt win Kauto The King @ 5/2
7.30 Godiva’s Bay will have to stat now to have any chance but the other three has clear claims , but the win of Malina Jamila is very modest form while Doncesar De Pretot rarely sees the track nowadays and hasn’t impressed at all in his last two runs. The former pointer Striking Out did well winning on his hurdles debut , over a trip well short enough , and this longer trip very much in his favour .
½ p t win Striking Out @ 5/2

Selected Catterick – good ground on this undulating and sharp track
5.20 Birkenhead took advantage of a drop in the ratings to grind out a win at Ripon , but lost it rightly in The Stewards Room . He stays on the same mark , but the draw could have been kinder and this is a different kind of track . Country Charm is on a long losing run , but coms here on the back of a close 3rd over C&D , just behind the useful yardstick Golden Gal . That brings his record here to a win and 2 places from just 4 tries and shouldn’t be far away again .
¼ pt ew Country Charm @ 8/1
5.53 As usual, Karl Burke has his 2yos well forward and he runs newcomer Exquisitely , whose value significantly zoomed from £26,000 to £150,000 from yearling to 2yo , which is often a sign of one giving all the right signals . The stable is 3 from 5 with 2yos here , and also has some fancy entries .
½ pt win Exquisitely @ 9/4
7.03 Dual C&D winner Militia is a real speedball , the ideal type for this track and while his runs this season aren’t great on paper , he showed his customary early dash at Chester last time , but did too much too early and fell into an enormous hold late on . Could be hard to catch , back on a winning mark .
¼ pt win Militia @ 3/1
7.38 Not a race for the Kids’ Dinner Money , A classified for out of form types and despite the capable veteran Twin Appeal having at least a 5 pound buffer over anything else , his return after a year off could have been much more encouraging and can only be watched . Divine Connection was a smart all the way winner at Ponty last time over further , off just a mark of just 51 , so on unfavourable terms and with this C&D likely to be too speedy , not for me. Giglis Beach has been in good form on the all weather , but can only be watched back on turf. It’s been 2 years since Dandy’s Gold last struck and that came off a good mark of 81 , and despite plenty of help from the handicapper , remains winless since , but his recent close 4th in a competitive Thirsk handicap off a mark of 63 , would see him bang in the picture , despite an awkward draw .
¼ pt win Dandy’s Gold @ 9/2
