Budarri 1.55 @ 10/3

Heltenham 12.35 @ 15/8

Selected Sedgefield – soft ground on this undulating and sharp track

12.25 Quite an open start to proceedings but neither Burnage Boy nor Zara’s Universe are doing enough to be considered , despite plenty of help from the handicapper . The other four all merit consideration but looking at how the race will be run, there is no front runner or even prominent racer in the field , in fact the four leading players are all hold up types , so it’s very possible if one of the riders went off positively , could pinch the contest , but as horses have to be ridden to their strengths , an early bid for home could well ruin the horse’s chance . Lord Caprio won this last year off a slightly lower mark and was a close 3rd over C&D last time in the mud and appeals at the odds .

1/4pt win Lord Caprio @ 8/1

12.55 Only 3 appear to count here but To Be Sure hasn’t convinced of late . Fiston Du Mou was a clear winner over C&D last time out in the mud , but the 9 pound hit puts him umcomfortably high in the weights . The consistent Onestepatatime was narrowly beaten over C&D in the mud over hurdles a few runs back and was going very well in his recent comeback race at Hexham, first time over fences , until taking a late fall. He should have a future over fences being an ex pointer and can start the ball rolling today .

1/2pt win Onestepatatime @ 9/4

1.55 This again looks a 3 horse war but as Zuckerburg couldn’t win an argument , this should develop into a battle between the two last time out winners in Sabbathical and Budarri , but the former has never won off anywhere near this mark but Budarri has been competitive off similar marks in the past and gets the nod .

1/2pt win  Budarri @ 10/3

Selected Southwell – soft ground on this flat and sharp track

12.35 A stiff penalty will be hard for Sublime Heights to overcome in his double bid while triple C&D winner Do It For Thy Sen resumes duties after a 6 months break with the ground against him . The consistent Heltenham ran respectably in his recent chase debut when probably needing the run , and is preferred racing for his top  stable .

1/2pt win Heltenham @ 15/8

1.05 There’s been money for the well handicapped and capable Abington Park , but runs on soft ground have been poor . This looks a match between the unexposed pair of Colemanstown Lad and the consistent C&D winner Matchmaking , whose consistency is attracting the attention of the handicapper and also soft ground not ideal . The tip is rarely far away, ran well in his recent chase debut at Uttoxeter , handles soft ground and gives the impression this longer trip will suit .

1/2pt win Colemanstown Lad @ 9/4

3.05 Four of the five come here in fine form while the other , Ewood Park is hard to rule out completely as he runs in famous colours for a top stable and this lightly raced sort is on a fair handicap mark , but I’d prefer just to watch this one . Supreme Yeats was all out to succeed over C&D last time In lower grade and the 5 pound hit and softer ground could see him struggle today . Our Bill’s Aunt is likely to put the pace to the race and made all winning well and determinedly at Chepstow on easy ground in her first handicap , and the 5 pound hit keeps her competitive . The consistent Sister Michael is another prominent racer , who was beaten narrowly last time and the cruel 4 pound hit makes a win today tough , but not out of it . The lightly raced Blenkinsop won well at Ludlow last time , coming from way off the pace , and the distance back to the 3rd horse suggests good form. Up just 4 pounds and soft ground no issue . Clear claims but the tip could take some reeling in around here .

1/4pt win Our Bill’s Aunt @ 6/1
