He’ll ” Laf” at them again in the 3.20

3 £1 doubles & £2 treble

The Imposter 4.15 @ 9/2

Alafdhal 3.20 @ 2/1

Enraged 6.30 @ 5/2

Selected Southwell – all weather – tapeta

1.35 Very hard to knock Brave Emperor who returns from a 2 months break on a 4 timer . His latest win came at Wolver in his first handicap and won so well that the 7 pound hit could well be within range for this unexposed type . The extra furlong shouldn’t be an issue .

1/4pt win Brave Emperor @ 5/2

2.10 A good quality Class 2 handicap with three of the field looking to double up for last time wins , and of these Tiger Crusade is the most likely to go in again as his latest win was over C&D and pretty comfortable , but the 3 pound hit will test . Lord Of The Lodge is certainly on a good mark and this front runner has a far better race make up than last time when there were a number of prominent racers battling for domination . Could be hard to catch .

1/4pt ew  Lord Of The Lodge @ 11/1

3.20 Alafdhal has seriously taken off of late. He was looking no more than a low grade handicapper and won off a mark of just 50 in November , but since then he’s won 4 out of 5 , and his last few wins have been very comfortable , and they came in competitive heats and won easily off a mark of 72 at Wolver last time , as usual , stalking the pace , then putting the race to bed . The 5 pound hit looks well within range .

3/4pt win Alafdhal @ 2/1

Selected Wetherby – soft ground on this flat and galloping track

12.50 The in form fav Good Work has stamina doubts while Return Fire’s last run suggests that the handicapper is now in charge . Bring The Action won this last year and has held his form pretty well off his new mark . Ground could be a bit too soft , but still the one to beat .

1/4pt win Bring The Action @ 3/1

2.00 The 4 timer seeking Blue Shark is effectively 12 pounds higher than his last win, which was a close call , and would do very well to go in again . Samatian is admirably consistent but has been cruelly shoved up 5 pounds for a close 2nd on the Warwick mud at around this trip .Euchan Falls put in a much improved run last time when switched to front running at Ayr in the mud , finishing a close 2nd of 17, with a long way back to the 3rd . Up 3 pounds but still very much a player .

1/4pt ew Euchan Falls @ 10/1

3.40 The ground is the issue for the hat-trick seeking Stanley Stanley as she returns from an 18 months absence for a new stable and goes chasing for the first time. The in form Lincoln Lyn is another who may well find the ground against her. Midnight Mary just doesn’t know how to run a bad race 4 wins and 4 places in her last 8 ! and did well on her first run for a new stable with a close 2nd in the Plumpton mud . The trip is on the short side for her and goes chasing for the first time , but still likely to run her race .

1/4pt win Midnight Mary @ 7/2

4.15 The front running The Imposter has put together a terrific sequence of 3 wins and a 2nd and despite a further 3 pound nudge , the return to this trip and to softer ground can see another win  in a winnable heat .

3/4pt win The Imposter @ 9/2

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping

4.00 The lightly raced Skye Breeze comes here on a hat-trick, his latest win coming over C&D , which wasn’t the greatest race ever and the placed horses have done little for the form and he’s also up 3 pounds . He may well not hold the recent winning hurdler Legendary Day , a close 2nd at Kempton in a competitive heat and worth risking switching to tapeta .

1/4pt win Legendary Day @ 5/2

5.00 As all of Comedian Leader , Attrazione and Trabajo detecho are now on stiff marks for recent wins , worth chancing the well handicapped Twilight Jazz , denied by a nose last time out , albeit in a classified , but overall form gives him a squeak .

1/4pt win Twilight Jazz @ 5/2

6.00 When Atrafan hits form , there’s usually no stopping him and this 5 times C&D winner is the obvious choice , but at odds on , probably play in multis .

6.30 There’s been plenty of money around for 4 times C&D winner Blackcurrent , returning from a 3 months break , but his form before his break was below par . Engaged returned from a break to run a cracker over C&D , going down  narrowly and looks likely to go one better . Rose Bandit was close up in that race but is partnered by a jockey having few rides .

1/2pt win Engaged @ 5/2

7.00 Plenty of in form types in this , but despite a 3 pound hit for a C&D win last time , Elzaal remains unexposed at this trip , and this determined type can bag his hat-trick .

1/4pt win Elzaal @ 10/3

7.30 As there is a stack of early pace in this decent Class 4, it should favour the strong finishing Adeb , a winner over C&D returning from a lengthy absence and was caught out last time at the more benign track at Southwell .

1/4pt win Adeb @ 9/4
