Selected Yarmouth – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.00The in form stable of Hughie Morrison has a terrific record here in 3yo handicaps,4 from 8 , and runs the lightly raced Op It , who led them a merry old dance in his handicap debut at Nottingham on easy ground , and only weakened in the last half furlong . He’s a bit lower in the ratings and with few others likely to get involved early , could well add to the Morrison stable’s enviable record .
½ pt win Op It @ 6/1
2.00 The maidens here tend to be of good quality and there are plenty of big stables represented in this and also lots of famous colours on view . Baltic Bird ran a cracker at Haydock last time , with Gosden’s other runner Highland frolic a length back in 3rd , but as the very able 5 pound claimer Ben De La Sayette is aboard today , the allowance looks crucial to the outcome .
½ pt win Baltic Bird @ 9/2
2.30 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 Dandy Maestro has taken off big style of late since being switched to turf , winning 3 of his last 4. The only defeat due to a poor ride , but the 16 pound hit for his last win, looks massively excessive . In a modest heat , good chance for Enough Already to get back on the scoresheet .
¼ pt win Enough Already @ 3/1
4.05 It was a weak event when Harbonara Star got back on the scoresheet over C&D , with Chloellie, Catch My breath and Daany not far behind , and on today’s ratings , the tip is preferred . Bronze River ran well over C&D a few starts back , but losses are racking up, but he’s not on his own on that score here . Anglo Saxson finally responded to huge generosity from the handicapper , as his only other win came here off a 20 pound higher mark , but does have stamina doubts .
¼ pt ew Chloellie @ 9/1

Selected Haydock – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.10 Dogged has had plenty of chances, including at this longer trip than usual . Both Cathayvenis and Balqaa bring solid recent form to the table , but the tip is the more likely to appreciate the longer trip .
¼ pt win Balqaa @ 8/1
1.40 A weak maiden and odds against for the clear form horse , racing in famous colours for a top stable , Chichen Itza should have no difficulty breaking his duck .
½ pt win Chichen Itza @ 11/10
2.40 Lethal Nymph is 2 from 2 and looks likely to go 3 from 3 on what looks a generous mark in his first handicap .
½ pt win Lethal Nymph @ 8/11
3.10 Celsius was well backed to win on his recent comeback spin , but tends to run his best races nowadays first time back , and then it tends to go downhill . He’s 3 from 3 over C&D so has plenty going for him on that score and is also still on a good mark , but I’m trying hard to get him beat and the prolific Street Life is a C&d winner , is still on a workable mark and comeback spin was pretty good .

Selected Ripon- good ground on this undulating and sharp track
1.20 You don’t see many unraced juveniles from the top stable of The Gosdens racing here , so worth a dabble at fair odds .
¼ pt win Foretell @ 7/2
1.50 In an uncompetitive race the short priced fav is the clear form horse Smart Connection , but he’s far more of an all weather horse and best turf runs have come on soft ground . Distinction is massively consistent but despite a 2 pound nudge and up 2 furlongs , a deserved win possible .
1/ 4pt win Distinction @ 11/4
2.20 The front running Shake A Leg is only 2 pounds higher for beating a good field at Donny and could take a bit of catching in what looks a winnable heat .
½ pt win Shake A Leg @ 9/2

3.20 Woodlands Charm did little wrong when 2nd over C&D in a big field last time out and could take some catching from the front .
¼ pt win Woodlands Charm @ 11/4
4.25 Brkenhead put the disappointment of losing his win over C&D in The stewards Room with a clear win at Catterick and with no penalty , this is a severe penalty kick , and 1/2 about right .

Selected Carlisle – good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
4.40 The purple silks of The amo syndicate have an embarrassment of useful juveniles and their runner in this is Double O , 2nd on his debut in what looked a decent maiden at Donny , and looks a very solid fav .
½ pt win Double O @ 7/4
5.15 Rookie trainer James Horton has been banging in the winners pleasingly and for a young trainer , has on his side James and Jess Dance , huge supporters of horse racing and price is never an issue . He runs Sol Cayo , who was a modest purchase at around £30,000 but ran well enough last time at wetherby to land this with the stiffer test likely to suit .
¼ pt win Sol Cayo @ 4/1
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
7.00 Discretion has a good mark in his first handicap and showed a likeable attitude last time but dropping in trip , could find the consistent Fiorina too pacy late on , with the rest of the field hard to fancy , but at 5/4 I can pass.

7.35 The very wonderful Detective will certainly have a race named after him here soon as in 9 runs here he has 4 wins and 5 places . He’s up a testing 5 pounds for a soft ground win here last time and steps up considerably in trip , so on paper has a few negatives to overcome , but is still an odds on shot. I think he’d do well to win .

8.10 Jamil has been holding his form well this season and did well last time out over C&D when 2nd over C&D on ground soft enough and gets the nod in the Lucky Last .

Selected Sandown – good ground on this stiff and galloping track
5.40 A chance can be given to quite a few but I’m with Eikonix , a close 3rd behind The whipmaster at Lingfield , but is proven on turf and on a stiff circuit , which his conqueror can’t boast . Not well drawn and Davie Probert doesn’t ride many winners here , , but still appeals most .
¼ pt win Elkonix @ 7/1
6.15 Trainer Michael O’Callaghan crosses The Irish Sea with another speedy juvenile in Crispy Cat and this Amo Racing runner was a close 2nd in a Listed race at The Curragh and from the plot draw, looks good for odds on players .
½ pt win Crispy Cat @ 8/11
6.50 A valuable Class 1 for stayers and with not much pace around, the in form front running thunderous could get an easy lead , but is unproven at this trip . There was nothing between Enemy and Quickthorn when 2nd and 3rd in an Ascot Group 3 at this trip, but the late playing tip was unlucky In the run , a few times , and gets the nod .
¼ pt win Enemy @ 9/4
7.25 The valuable Group 2 Brigadier Gerard stakes , named in honour of the wonderful Champion of 50 years ago, who only ever lost 1 race and combined speed , stamina and determination to the highest level . This field has some useful types but the very wonderful Addeybb was not at his best last year and ended on a very low note . He’s now an 8yo , and as he needs his first run back , in this hot race, gets the red pen . Lord Glitters keeps his form remarkably well for a 9yo and this galloping grey landed a Group 2 in Meydan a few races ago but this C&D won’t be ideal for this late player . Mostahdef is 6 from 7 , his only defeat coming at Royal Ascot last year , when badly hampered and was eased . He’s a straight forward no nonsense and classy individual and is 3 from 3 here . Likely to go 4 . A special mention for Bay Bridge , who is massively progressive and won his last 4 , but would do very well to extend his sequence tonight .
¾ pt win Mostahdef @ 11/10
8.35 A wide open finale and a chance can be given to many but I’m with the consistent Stellar Queen, unlucky a few times last time out at Nottingham in a competitive handicap shaping as if this stiffer test would suit .
