He can finish Above these in the 3.15

Today’s Multi

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

New Pursuit 4.30 @ 5/2

The Whipmaster 2.50 @ 10/3

Above It All 3.15 @ 5/1

Selected Ffos Las – good ground on this flat and galloping track

1.32 With both Starfighter and Gert Lush now on stiff enough marks , the nod goes to the consistent Rita Rana , just a pound higher than her winning mark . Late player who should have a good pace to aim at .

1/4pt win Rita Rana @ 9/2

3.15 There’ll be no hanging around here with the in form trio  Hiromichi , Helluvaboy and Connie’s Rose all sure to blast out , and the latter will still run her race , but is now on a stiff mark and is a Chepstow specialist . The strong pace will help the late playing Above It all, never far away , back on a winning mark and Saffie Osborne’s 3 pound claim also of course helps .

1/2pt  win Above It All 5/1

3.50 A big field for this Stayer’s Handicap and I’m with course specialist Singing The Blues , who’s won his last two races here , but the 3 pound hit won’t help , but this prominent racer , again won’t be far away .

1/2pt   ew  Singing The Blues @ 13/2

5.30 It’s a golden chance for the luckless So Smart to break his duck after 16 tries, 2nd in 7 of those races , but 6/5 not attractive odds for a long standing maiden .

Selected The Curragh – probably good to soft on this undulating , stiff  and galloping  track

1.25 A couple of these bring good experience to the table, in both their solitary outings, but the nod goes to recent Cork soft ground 2nd Dark Side , who didn’t come cheap and races in famous colours , and did very well to obtain 2nd after a very sluggish start and preferred over Espionage , a good 2nd on debut at Galway , but doing all of his best work late on , so could be done for toe by the tip.

1/2pt win Dark Side @ 4/1

1.55 I’m sticking with experience again as Starry Heavens , consistent in all 3 runs and very much gives the impression this stiff C&D could see outstaying these .

1/4pt  win Starry Heavens @ 4/1

3.05 English raider Art Power sluiced home in this last year , and if anything softer ground , even more in his favour . but it needs to be noted that this has been his only win in his last 13 races , pretty disappointing for a 112 rated sprinter . Just two runs this season , a good effort from the front over  a trip too far , and last time almost fell at the start when fancied for The group 1 Sprint Cup. He is the one to beat but at long odds ,I prefer  a play on the very reliable filly Ano Syra , 2 wins and a place in 3 tries here  and not that far away from the fav  on the ratings .

1/4pt  ew  Ano Syra @ 14/1

3.40 The fav Caroline Street brings the best form to the table, but bit worried about her record of two good runs and one bad one . She was behind Maybe Just Maybe is a Group 3 , which certainly gives this one an ew chance and also hard to ignore the chance of Clever And Cool , a running on 4th in a warm looking valuable Listed Race , giving the impression this stiffer test will suit .

1/4pt  ew  each . Maybe Just Maybe @ 9/1 , Clever  and Cool @ 9/1  . Small rev fc ??

Selected Epsom – good ground on this undulating, sharp and tricky track

1.40 Hunkpapa has proved he handles a sharp , tricky track with a close 3rd at Catterick , and the winner ran well yesterday under a penalty , form which gives him an ew chance in a tricky opener .

1/4pt  ew  Hunkpapa @ 8/1

2.50 Three of these front run , including recent course winner Bad Company , but the drop in trip and quicker ground won’t help and neither will the penalty . Not an ideal situation for any of the front runners and this is likely to go to a late player , and it could well be a return to The Winners’ Circle for the prolific The Whipmaster , who notched a 4 timer , in pretty rapid time , and as he was entitled to do better last time , he returns after a well earned 2 months break . This is arguably his best trip , and has run well here before .

1/2pt  win The Whipmaster @ 10/3

3.25 The Apprentices Derby , and with Dundry more potent on a softer surface and Ravens Ark over a longer trip, this looks a 3 horse war between recent C&d winner and hat-trick seeking  Saratoga Gold , and his 5 pound penalty is swallowed up by an able 5 pound claimer , the consistent ,if luckless Tartan Chief , proven at the trip and track , and the 2 pound nudge keeps him competitive , but the jockey is struggling of late . and another hat-trick seeker in Eloso , who’s up in the ratings and grade , but won well over C&D last time and has one of the stronger jockeys in the field aboard in Harry Burns, who rode him to victory last time . Bit concerned about the first time blinkers , as the stable has struggled using these aids effectively in the past, so just a dabble.

1/4pt  ew Eloso @ 6/1

4.30 The lightly raced New Pursuit is crucially 2 from 2 here and comes here on the back of a narrow defeat in a competitive Windsor handicap last time , when switched to hold up tactics . Stays on the same mark and today is partnered by a top 3 pound claimer , and with 3 front runners in the field, will have an ideal strong pace to travel behind.

1/2pt win New Pursuit @ 5/2

Nothing to recommend at Yarmouth . To be plainly honest , just far too much guesswork , which is not the way to go, and also plenty of ifs, buts and maybes in all of the races
