First again in the 1.30

Today’s Multi

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

First Revolution 1.30 @ 3/1

English Spirit 5.10 @ 6/4

Rhubarb 3.20 @ 7/2

Selected Sedgefield – good ground on this undulating and sharp track

1.30 First Revolution won as he liked over C&D last time on similar ground , giving them a start and a beating , obviously the wind op has done its job. He’s only 3 pounds higher  and the pair filling the places are very useful yardsticks indeed . He is preferred to the hat-trick seeking Goshuatri , 6 pounds higher for  his last win , and the 2nd horse did nothing for the form next time . Both wins came right handed on flat tracks , so a bit to prove around this specialist left hand circuit .

½ pt  win First Revolution @ 3/1

Selected Chepstow – good to firm on this undulating , galloping and quite stiff track

2.20 PREMIUM RACE

3.20 Rhubarb hasn’t had many chances at the minimum trip on fast turf and sluiced in over C&D last time , beating one who has won before and after the race . A strong pace is likely which will suit the tip who is likely to be chasing those front rank and stays very well , and in a modest heat , nice odds to overcome the nasty 5 pound hit .

½ pt  win Rhubarb @ 7/2

3.50 Russian Rumour did little wrong when 2nd to Thibault ,who since has sluiced  home in a tidy event over hurdles . Doesn’t have much to beat .

¼ pt  win Russian Rumour @ 2/1

Selected Beverley – good ground on this stiff and galloping track

3.40 The consistent Hardy ran well here last time off this mark and should be fine over this slightly longer trip . Elixsoft has no penalty for an easy win on Saturday . I was with him that day ,and it was a very poor race , and this much deeper .

¼ pt   ew  Hardy @ 15/2

4.10 PREMIUM RACE

Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack

5.10 In an uncompetitive opener , a golden opportunity for the luckless English spirit , 2nd over C&D to Courtside last time out , and the winner sluiced in yesterday under a penalty . Nicely drawn for s prominent racer , SDS rides and just a pound higher for the unlucky nose defeat .

½ pt  win English Spirit @ 6/4

6.15 Many of these are rarely far away , but wins hard to come by . The consistent Papas Girl has run well on tapeta and turf of late , so worth risking on polytrack .

¼ pt   ew  Papas Girl @ 9/1

7.15 Libbratta is a long standing maiden , but has gone close a couple of times off higher marks than today . Not beaten far last time when finishing alongside Largo Bay , who’s much shorter in the betting and a useful 3 pound claimer rides the tip .

¼ pt   ew Libbratta @ 16/1

8.15 The well drawn and consistent Meadram was only beaten two necks over C&d last time and off just a pound higher , is entitled to be competitive , and this isn’t deep.

¼ pt  win Meadram @ 11/4

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta – the track is stiff and galloping

5.30 The lightly raced Murau landed a novice event in style over C&D when last seen 2 months ago , and that win puts him on a generous looking mark in his handicap debut , but the bookies agree and is short odds to prevail . There are others with a chance but the consistent Colinton would do well to gain a 3rd C&D win  off this very testing mark . The ex-French Scheggi made a right fist of it on his Uk debut at Southwell , failing  narrowly and off the same mark , is preferred at the odds.

¼ pt   ew  Scheggi @ 8/1

6.00 PREMIUM RACE

6.30 A wide open handicap and hard to rule anything entirely out . Dragons Will Rise has a terrific record here , 4 wins and 2 places from 6 tries and Rab Havlin is 5 wins and 2 places aboard , so despite a career high mark , likely to be involved again but the nod goes to another track star in Athmad , who has slipped to a mark just below his last success over C&D .

¼ pt   ew Athmad @ 7/1

7.00 The bookies make this a match and probably right with Godolphin’s State event , a good 5th at Newmarket on debut up against Adjourn , another who ran well at Newmarket when last seen 7 months ago , but of the pair , the latter has far more of an all weather pedigree and interesting that his value rocketed from £20,000 up to £135,000 from yearling to 2yo , so could be one to keep on the right side this season . I’m happy to watch with interest .

7.30 Muveran ended last season with a gutsy win over C&D keeping a useful one in Taj aloja at bay , and is only 2 pounds higher tonight . His comeback run on turf could have been better , but this isn’t deep .

¼ pt win Muveran @ 11/4
