3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Midnight Moss 1.45 @ 7/2
Dream Harder 2.30 @ 7/4
Military Two Step 7.30 @ 7/1
No advice for Fairyhouse
Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping
1.30 The 5 pound hit for a recent win probably rules out Naomi’s Charm , who was a length behind Look Back Smiling over C&D recently and as the late playing tip is only a pound higher , worth a dabble at inflated odds . Both Blueflagflyinghigh and Gincident deserve utmost respect.
1/4pt win Look Back Smiling @ 7/1
2.30 After landing a hat-trick and in pretty comfortable style , Dream Harbour next ran in a competitive Lingfield handicap off this new mark and despite encountering traffic problems , was only just over a length behind at the line . Previously this late player was an easy winner over C&D and useful 3 pound claimer Ben Robinson has ridden him to victory before .The prolific Zealot is now looking high in the ratings and this longer trip a further issue.
3/4pt win Dream Harbour @ 7/4
3.00 The luckless Star Shield put in a cracking series of runs over C&D, unlucky a few times not to prevail and returned recently after a short break to run well at Southwell finishing 4th . Looks massively overpriced for his chance .
1/4pt ew Star Shield @ 16/1
3.30 This looks a match between a couple of track regulars in the back to form Bobby Joe Leg and the luckless Novak, who is likely to try and make all and could well have the run of the race from the front . He has a rare run in Class 6 , in which he is 2 wins and a place in 4 tries ! He is though on a long losing run and preference is for the tip , who showed at Southwell that wins off around this mark are not out of the question , and is terrier like in the finish .
1/4pt win Bobby Joe Leg @ 5/1
No Newcastle placepot
Selected Catterick – soft ground on this undulating and sharp track
1.45 The drop in trip won’t help marathon horse Sam’s Adventure while Trixster is far happier on a sounder surface . This leaves us with two, recent Ayr winner , the prolific Hitman Fred, 4 wins in his last 6 ! and he kept on very well last time to beat a couple of useful yardsticks . Softer ground today is not ideal and in this race for conditional jockeys, has a 10 pound claimer aboard , who is struggling of late . The nod goes to the luckless Midnight Moss , runner up in his last three, and was done a nose last time , with a long way back to anything else . He’s up a cruel 4 pounds, the same as his chief rival , but is preferred as the very able jockey has ridden him well before .
1/2pt win Midnight Moss @ 7/2
2.15 Despite both carrying penalties , this looks to rest between the prolific and progressive pair of Howlingmadmurdock and Supreme Gift , but the latter’s form is some way superior and despite the double penalty is ridden by a very useful 7 pound claimer .
1/2pt win Supreme Gift @ 15/8
2.45 He was looking hard to win with , but that’s all in the past , and Bolsover Bill goes for the 4 timer , two of those wins coming over C&D in the mud , but would do very well to extend his sequence with a 10 pound hit . Roccowithlove won well here last time in the mud , but over a much longer trip . The dual C&d winner Relkadam stepped up on some poor efforts this season with a close 3rd last time , behind a couple of reliable yardsticks . If , and it’s bit of an if , he’s in that kind of form today , could collect .
1/4pt ew Relkadam @ 9/1
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.45 This looks very much a match but Gift Maker’s form is superior to Conqueredallofeurope , and is only a pound higher for his recent smart win over C&D in the mud .
1/2pt win Gift Maker @ 5/6
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
4.55 A very weak classified and the clear form horse is the lightly raced Fadi, two good runs in handicaps of late and brings the best form to the table . He goes up markedly in trip but does give the impression he’ll stay well enough to beat very modest opposition .
5.30 Harry Magnus is clearly the form horse and on breeding the extra furlong won’t be an issue .
1/4pt double Fadi @ 6/4 Harry Magnus @ 4/6 ( pays over 3/1)
6.00 The vast majority of these come into this in poor form , the exception being the hat-trick seeking Bawadder , but both wins came in classified events , and now on an 8 pound higher mark than his last handicap run , when he was only 3rd . He’s Our Star got back on the scoresheet last time but up in trip, the ratings and worst of the draw . Move on .
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.00 The down in trip , up in grade and in form Crocodile Roll is likely to struggle but you can make a good case for everything else .
7.30 On her day Military Twostep is a useful staying mare , which she proved last time with a fine win at Chelmsford City , and just 2 pounds higher tonight . She has been inconsistent of late but is still the pick at juicy odds. First Emperor was a shock winner at this trip at Lingfield and has both as rise in grade and a 5 pound hit to contend with while Royaume Uni is 1 from 1 on synthetics which was a clear win at this trip at Lingfield off around this mark , but did finish a very tired horse in his last race which was over hurdles .
1/2pt win Military Twostep @ 7/1
