Never Dark 5.00 @ 15/2

Selected Chepstow – probably soft ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

1.35 Certainly worth supporting the classy Aye Right , who usually competes in Graded racing , and despite often running well , he’s more effective in handicap company and is back on a winning mark . Soft ground and this kind of C&D suits well and the stable makes a 630 mile round trip . The prominent racing tip goes well fresh .

1/4pt  wi Aye Right @ 4/1

4.33 This has a very winnable look to it and the late playing Zambezi Fix has plenty going for him . He’s a C&D winner off around this mark , likes soft ground , and when last seen was in very good form , but form after a break is patchy , so just a dabble .

1/4pt  ew Zambezi Fix @ 10/1

5.08 The ground could be an issue for most of these but not chase newcomer My Girl Katie , who ended last season with a close 4th over C&D over hurdles in the mud . This winning pointer should improve for being put over fences but is another whose form after a break is patchy .

1/4pt  ew  My Girl Katie @ 8/1

1.50 PREMIUM RACE

2.25 The progressive Gushing Gold did well last time to be 2nd in a Listed race in the Donny mud and is just preferred over another mudlark in Chic Colombine .

1/4pt  win Gushing Gold @ 5/1

3.00 Both audience and Matilda Picotte like to cut out the running , so a true run race is for sure Matilda Picotte will like the ground and the C&D , but has a bit to find on form and the tip , a C&D winner sees it out very well in the mud. The useful Chindit could struggle at the trip and ground .

1/2pt  win Audience @ 9/4

4.10 An open Group 1 for juvenile fillies but See The Fire brings good form to the table , one of the best in the field , and is proven at the trip and on the ground .

1/4pt  win See The Fire @ 6/1

5.55 A very open Group 3 but Persist brings a good level of the form to the table and is proven at the trip and ground , so could well get the better of some higher rated rivals .

Selected York – probably soft ground on this flat and galloping track

2.05 Bona Fortuna, a £185,000 yearling did well enough when 3rd on his recent debut in the Ayr mud to be a strong contender .

1/4pt  win Bona Fortuna @ 10/3

2.40 An open stayers’ handicap but the front running Dreams a Dozen relishes the mud which can render him competitive off a 6 pound higher mark .

1/4pt  ew Dreams A Dozen @ 10/1

3.15 PREMIUM RACE

3.50 The front running mud loving Autumn Festival has been rekindled by the application of cheekpieces and could surprise , still below his top winning mark .

1/2pt  ew Autumn Festival @ 16/1

4.25 The consistent Curious Kate impressed when coming off the pace for a 3 lengths victory in the Haydock mud , and the 4 pound hit could have been much worse .

1/4p win Curious Kate @ 3/1

5.00 Never Dark did it very well last time in the Haydock mud , making all . The close 2nd has won  since and the 3 lengths 3rd has also run a big race since . Likely to have competition for the lead , but still preferred .

1/4pt  ew Never Dark @ 15/2

Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta. The track is stiff and galloping

5.27 The combination of the drop in the ratings and longer trip resulted in Great Colachi getting back on the scoresheet, and off just a 2 pound higher mark , decent chance of the double in a winnable looking race .

1/4pt  win Great Colachi @ 9/2

6.00 Fools rush In has run some big races of late but this hold up type still finds it tough getting his nose in front. He’s been close up the last twice and with a further ease in the ratings and the stiff finish likely to help , could be his night .

1/4pt  win Fools Rush In @ 6/1

7.30 Doesn’t look a particularly competitive nursery and the prolific and reliable Tropical Air did well to be a close 4th on polytrack last time, and off a pound lower and back to a more suitable C&D , will be hard to beat .

1/2pt  win Tropical Air @ 2/1

8.00 The late playing He’s My angel responded well to the gradual dip in the ratings with a close 2nd over C&D last time and should get the strong pace he craves .

1/4pt win He’s My Angel @ 9/4
