3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Bbob Alula 1.00 @ 3/1
Enfranchise 3.20 @ 10/3
El Borracho 7.48 @ 7/2
Selected Chepstow – good ground on this undulating , galloping and quite stiff track
1.00The clear form horse is the late playing Bbob Alula , a close 2nd at Brighton last time out off this mark and is also proven over C&d under this jockey .
1/2pt win Bbob Alula @ 3/1
1.35 The drop in the ratings , the longer trip and easier ground all give Eye Of The water a chance to show his paces at long odds .
1/4pt ew Eye Of the water @ 18/1
2.40 The late playing Port Noir was a close 3rd over C&d recently and looks way overpriced in a race which will suit him as there’s so much early pace .
1/4pt ew Port Noir @ 25/1
3.10 Shesadabber ran very well over C&D last time out when trying to make all and stuck on very well . She had Fossos behind that day and no reason why that wont be repeated .
1/4pt win Shesadabber @ 10/3
Selected Sandown – probably good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
1.10 Not a deep juvenile sprint and despite having a penalty to carry, Michaela’s Boy has the best of the draw, has the best form, is proven over C&D and the ground and a useful 5 pound claimer reduces his penalty .
1/2pt win Michaela’s Boy @ 13/8
2.50 PREMIUM RACE
3.20 Enfranchise showed chunks of determination last time when narrowly beaten at Redcar , when she was badly baulked a few times . She may have a bit too much in the finish for the back to form Jewel In My Crown .
1/2pt win Enfranchise @ 10/3
3.55 Ar El bee was noted doing all of his best work late on here last time and the longer trip likely to help this lightly raced sort .
1/4pt win Ar El Bee @ 11/2
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
Selected York – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.00 PREMIUM RACE
2.30 A Valuable seller and the clear form horse is the front running Explicit , who runs in famous colours for a top stable and very likely to appreciate this extra furlong both on pedigree and on how he’s been finishing his races .
1/2pt win Explicit @ 15/8
3.00 Ey Up it’s Maggie deserves far more success than she has , a massively consistent prominent racing filly and it could be her day today . The extra furlong is no issue but her regular rider is a 5 pound claimer , who is replaced by Kevin Stott , so that could have a bearing , but the chief opposition in Al Simmo , Candescence and Makarova all have stiff penalties .
1/4pt win Ey Up It’s Maggie @ 9/2
4.05 PREMIUM RACE
4.40 After a cracking debut in a Class 2 sprint at Beverley when a running on 3rd , Your spirit is understandably a warm order and should oblige for fav backers , but this is a very different C&D .
Selected Newton Abbot – good ground on this flat and sharp track
5.05 In a weak novice hurdle , odds on players should collect with Ultimate Fame .
6.16 Going handicapping on a fair mark , the late playing Cool Stone is up against a trip of mares now all on stiff marks .
1/4pt win Cool stone @ 2/1
6.51 A cracking Class 2 Chase and pretty easy to read with Prince Escalus , who is a much better horse going right handed, so could be in trouble early on with the consistent Mercian Prince also sure to blast out as will another consistent type in Pisgah Pike , so those up front will be disadvantaged , leaving it nicely set up for the late players . Sebastopol holds his form very well and has clear claims but the nod goes to the strong staying Leapaway , just 3 pounds higher for a smart Warwick win last time and is a dual trac winner . The useful Hunter Across The line cannot be ruled out going handicapping on a fair mark but it could be happening all too quickly for Kauto The king , better served by a longer trip .
1/4pt win Leapaway @ 4/1
7.26 The front running Imperial Joe sluiced in here last time out , but it was over a much longer trip and a much lower mark and with other front runners in the field , could struggle tonight . Romanor is highly consistent and landed a double last Summer , and has now worked his way down to below his last winning mark . He showed a lot more in his 2nd race back from his break last time and this late player will have an ideal strong pace to aim at .
1/2pt win Romanor @ 8/1
8.01 Looks good for the in form Skatman with the switch to fences an unlikely issue and is another who’s likely to reward short priced fav backers. Lokata Warrior is presently struggling and this longer trip unlikely to help .
Newton Abbot placepot
I’ve been through the Goodwood card thoroughly , and with soft ground an unknown for so many runners and also the track being a law to itself , well happy to skip the meeting
Selected Aintree- good ground on this flat and galloping track
A disappointing turnout , a total of 30 runners spread out among the 7 races
A Special hello to a good friend of mine Peter , and to his party . Rumours have it thar he’s only here for the beer , those rumours may have plenty of substance .
5.28 Neither Cremant nor Mulberry Hill have been seeing their races out well and this offers a good opportunity for the ex-pointer Kerosine Light , who is 2 from 2 over hurdles , is on a very fair mark and has been doing well winning over the minimum trip , considering he’s an out and out stayer and this longer trip very much in his benefit , and he’s won both of his races on speed tracks.
3/4pt win Kerosene Light @ 5/2
6.03 The ex – French Free Chakarte impressed winning on debut a Hexham . This is a very different type of track and she carries a penalty , but both All In Peder and Mucuna were very modest on the flat while Fast Style has switched stables and is a probable non stayer . Free Chakarte is 4/11, I’d be happy to watch .
6.38 Mortlach is 2 from 2 over fences and against modest opposition , the hat-trick looks on for this front runner , despite the 8 pound penalty .
1/2pt win Mortlach @ 4/5
7.13 Another prolific sort in Go On Chez , who bids to go 5 from 5 over fences and the way this late player has been winning , hard seeing the 7 pound hit stopping him .
1/2pt win Go On Chez @ evens
7.48 El Borracho had a busy and very successful time of it last season , putting together a series of 3 wins , 3 seconds and 2 thirds in 8 runs ! He was entitled to need his first start back and usual service was resumed with an easy all the way win at Uttoxeter . He’s 7 pounds higher , but very likely to get his own way up front and the opposition all have a bit to do. Recent winner Hurricane Ali has a very stiff 7 pound penalty and looking at his profile , that puts him on too high a mark . Koi Doiville will be finding things happening too quickly around this C&D off this mark while Scots Poet is on a stiff opening mark and Krypton Gold is a very stiff 9 pounds higher for an off the pace win at Ascot , so unlikely to figure around this speed track . The tip has won off higher marks than this and by the way Peter , another incentive to back my tip. El Borracho is Spanish for The Drunk !!
3/4pt win El Borracho @ 3/1
8.23 The front running Sir Tivo has plenty in his favour , he’s likely to have the lea to himself , bounces off quick ground and at his best on speed tracks. He holds his form remarkably well and lost little in defeat when a close 3rd at Warwick last time off a higher mark and grade in a race where there was plenty of competition for the lead. Armattiekan needs further as does Fearless and the ex-French Texard has chunks to prove on quick ground .
3/4pt win Sir tivo @ 6/4
8.53 As both Isthebaropen ( Another apt one for Peter ! ) and Taragrace have stamina issues , the coast should be clear for recent Cartmel winner Liffeydale Dreamer , which puts him on a very stiff mark but should get away with it given her usual prominent ride .
1/2pt win Liffeydale Dreamer @ evens
