Novakai 2.25 @ 6/1
Candleford 5.20 @7/2
San Andreas 6.45 @ 9/1
Selected Newmarket – good to firm on this undulating, stiff and galloping track
1.50 PREMIUM RACE
2.25 Both Sea time and Sweet Memories are hat-trick seeking in short careers and both run for big stables and wear famous colours . They could both improve past their present level but I’m sticking with the strong staying Novakai , a facile winner here at this trip two starts back and will again be eating up the ground late on .
1/2pt win Novakai @ 6/1
3.00 A valuable Group 2 for juvenile fillies , and the fav is Shuwari , who is 2 from 2 for his rookie trainer , and brings very good looking form to the table . At the odds , I prefer a play on the hat-trick seeking Zenjabeela , who has won her last two in style . She goes up markedly in grade but is with a top stable , wears famous colours and she has a Group 1 entry .
1/4pt win Zenjabeela @ 12/1
3,35 PREMIUM RACE
4.10 All of Accumulate , Al Sharab Storm and Zain Blue bring good form to the table and the C&D should suit all three , but the tip did show plenty of promise .
1/4pt win Accumulate @ 2/1
5.20 At his best , the prominent racing New London would take some beating , but both runs this season below par. What is in his favour is that he’s likely to have his own way up front but I’m with the bang in form and strong staying Candleford to see this out the best .
1/2pt win Candleford @ 7/2
5.55 Turntable has won this race for the last two years, but hasn’t run well at all this season , and despite a big drop in the ratings , can only be watched. All of Real Gain , Sudden Ambush and Bodorgan have clear claims but the well handicapped In these Shoes gets the call .
1/4pt ew In These Shoes @ 12/1

Selected Haydock – very soft ground on this flat and galloping track
2.00 There’s been money for Fascinating Lips of late , but has failed to deliver , but a further ease in the ratings , in the ground and also with the likely strong pace suiting this late player .
1/4pt win Fascinating Lips @ 13/8
2.35 Both Dramatic Effect and Marie Ellen bring decent form to the table , and both proven on easy ground but I’m with the £200,000 newcomer in Stop The Cavalry , whose sire is an influence in the mud.
1/4pt win Stop The Cavalry @ 7/4
3.10 Patience is wearing thin for supporters of the luckless Fusterlandia , 4 seconds and a 3rd in 6 runs . The form is good , and handles the ground but the first time visor a negative for the stable . Avoriaz put in a good run last time on easy ground and is preferred .
1/4pt win Avoriaz @ 5/2
4.20 PREMIUM RACE
4.50 Billy No Mates is a dual C&D winner and handles the mud . He’s on a fair mark but the nod goes to the bang in form late playing mud loving Zillion .
1/4pt win Zillion @ 9/2
5.25 The ground has come right for the very much mud loving Harswell Duke , back downto his last winning mark.
1/4pt win Harswell Duke @ 5/1

Selected Worcester – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
2.15 Mofasa , a useful hurdler for The Scudamore team , has now joined the top stable of Paul Nicholls , and you would expect improvement from both the stable switch and the switch to fences , but he did end the season under a cloud and I prefer the prominent racing and prolific Broadway Boy , racing for a very much in form stable.
1/4pt win Broadway Boy @ 6/4
2.50 This looks good for the in form Mutual Respect, but I can swerve at evens .
4.00 PREMIUM RACE
4.30 Another shortie who’ll be hard to beat is the consistent Ma Belle Noir , with trip and ground no issue .
1/4pt double Mutual Respect – Ma Belle Noire , both at evens
5.05 The reliable Getaway Tom continues to get nudged up the ratings , for not winning , and soft ground not in his favour . Walkinthewoods has the ground in his favour , but returns from a 4 months break , is up 6 pounds and also drops in trip . Emanate goes for the C&D hat-trick and can achieve it off a 5 pound higher mark .
1/4pt win Emanate @ 7/2

Selected Dundalk , all weather – polytrack
6.15 Darkdeserthighway runs this C&D well off around this mark and did well on his recent comeback spin at Punchestown to be a 2 lengths 3rd of 14. This late player can land a modest heat .
1/4pt win Darkdeserthighway @ 11/4
6.45 A valuable Listed Race and the most interesting contender is the British trained runner Sea The Casper , but he’s hard to fancy on recent runs . The highest rated is Piz Badile , who drops from Group company , but could find it happening all too quickly around this sharp circuit . San Andreas is very much a course regular, 5 wins and 8 places from 18 tries and did little wrong last time over C&D when a close 3rd in a handicap off a mark of 102, a really good effort . The likely strong pace will surely help this late player .
1/2pt ew San Andreas @ 9/1
7.15 The course winner Sleive Binnian won very nicely at this trip two starts back at The Curragh , beating 18 others , then next time lost his race in the stalls . Up just 3 pounds and a nice ew play .
1/4pt ew Sleive Binnian @ 9/1
7.45 Celtic Revival always runs well here and is just 2 pounds higher than his most recent C&D win , and has held his form very well since. Late player and the apprentice aboard knows him well.
1/4pt win Celtic Revival @ 3/1
Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping
4.55 The dual course winner Silver Nightfall produced a career best run at Kempton first time at this trip and last time ran very well for a long way with a slipped saddle . This late player is preferred .
1/4pt win Silver Nightfall @ 7/2
6.00 The drop in trip and penalty makes it hard for Sun Power to nail a course double. Roshambo is rarely far away off around this mark and this could be this C&D winner’s night in an uncompetitive heat .
1/4pt ew Rashambo @ 15/2
7.00 The front running Malinheadsearovers has done really well the last twice , including over C&D and can gain reward in this lesser race .
1/2pt win Malinheadsearovers @ 3/1
8.00 Plenty of last time winners , including here , but Cusack is 0 places from 5 tries in Class while Eldrickjones has a penalty and an extra furlong to travel . Chances can be given to all of : Bushfire , who may get the run of the race from the front , Irish Flame, Dreamrocker , Tuscan and Lady Wormsley , but in an open race I’m happy to play a longshot in Showmedemoney , just 2 pounds higher for his gritty Carlisle win last time , and is a C&D winner .
1/4pt ew Showmedemoney @ 18/1
8.30 John Kirkup is not getting any younger and hasn’t won for a while , but this late player is rarely far away and can pounce late off a likely strong pace .
1/4pt win John Kirkup @ 11/2
