3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Geocentric 2.15 @ 118
Beauty Inspire 3.45 @ 8/1
Igraine 2.00 @ 7/4
Selected Naas- good ground on this undulating , galloping and stiff track
2.15 The one to beat at the ratings is last year’s winner Logo Hunter , but that win came on soft ground and soon afterwards was off the track due to injury and failed to shine in his comeback spin . This looks good for the consistent and very enthusiastic Geocentric , likely to make all and the C&D and ground both in his favour .
¾ pt win Geocentric @ 11/8
3.15 Bopedro won first time out last season and really came into his own in the latter part of last year and this late player finished with a cracking close 3rd in a Leopardstown handicap and backed that up with a solid close 6th in a Listed event at Cork . He has a clear decision over the danger Lust and there should be enough early pace around to suit his racing style .
½ pt win Bopedro @ 5/2
3.45 NewYork City has put last year’s disappointments behind him and comes here on a hat-trick , beating a good field at Navan , but like so many in this field, going up to 6 furlongs , on this stiff track , could make them vulnerable . Beauty Inspire was 2 from 2 last year , both wins at The Curragh , and never broke sweat in either , both wins at this trip , looking very professional . Colin Keane has opted for Straight Answer , but he is a retainer for the owners , so had no option . Nice odds for a mini shock .
½ pt win Beauty Inspire @ 8/1
No Naas placepot
I’ve been through the Stratford card with my usual focus, but I’m not having any plays as the races are uncompetitive resulting in short priced favs who are the likely winners , but certainly not bombproof
Selected Killarney – good ground on this flat and sharp track
2.00 The clear form horse is the luckless Igraine , who was rated 80 on the flat and his jumps rating of 113 compares well with that . He’s a front runner , and this track should be ideal as is the drying ground .
½ pt win Igraine @ 7/4
2.30 The odds on fav is recent Naas 2nd Marvel De Cerisy , but that was raced on deep ground and this track is very far removed from Naas . Moulane West comes here on the back of a good run when 3rd of 24 at Fairyhouse on similar ground and looks a nice ew play .
¼ pt ew Moulane West @ 8/1
3.00 Understandable that the lightly raced and already useful Santa Rossa is a short priced fav in a race where most are outclassed , but I can afford to pass at 6/5.
3.30 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Ripon – good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
3.10 Hats of to the ultra consistent Haunted Dream , 3 wins and 2 seconds in his last 5 , the latest being a close 2nd at Newmarket off this mark , but over this sharp C&d I give the nod to the front running Rollajam , who led them a merry old dance at Redcar last time at this trip and mark , before giving best late on to be a close 3rd . Needs to be caught .
¼ pt win Rollajam @ 7/1
3.40 Track specialist Benadlid came back to form , with no warning at Donny last time , responding to the big ease in the ratings and off the same mark, looks poise to strike .
¼ pt win Benadlid @ 2/1
4.10 Youngster Sandbeck looked all out to prevail last time out and the 6 pound hit could catch him out , but the 2nd horse has run well since and the pair finished clear . Mid winter should win more than she does , but is a victim of her consistency and the handicapper is loathe to give her a squeak , but this is a bit easier than usual and gets the nod .
¼ pt win Mid Winter @ 3/1
5.10 The lightly raced Miss Britain ran a corker in her recent first handicap , this coming at Thirsk , finishing a close 3rd of 19 , when badly drawn , but under a prominent ride kept plugging away . this is more quantity than quality .
½ pt win Miss Britain @ 5/2
Selected Longchamp – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
2.15 PREMIUM RACE
2.55 PREMIUM RACE
4.05 On her day , Suesa is a very smart sprinter , as she showed winning the Group 1 sprint at Glorious Goodwood , but either side of that , her runs were poor , and her comeback spin was a shocking flop . English raider Clarendon House is developing into a consistent and smart sprinter and worth a dabble to upset a vulnerable looking home team
1/4pts win Clarendon House @ 4/1
