Angel to sprout wings in the 5.40

Today’s Fortune for a fiver

50p ew Trixie & 50p ew treble

Queen Of Romford 1.30 @ 8/1

Muatadel 2.45 @ 14/1

Grace Angel 5.40 @ 9/2

Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack

1.00Reelceltic is certainly more consistent than most of these and this C&D winner remains on a workable mark . The fav is Go Fox, having his first start for a new stable after winning a modest claimer at Catterick . Proven at the trip , but has been shoved up to a sticky mark .

1/4pt  win Reelceltic @ 5/2

1.30 All of Crosstitch , Mal Alward and Queen of Romford bring a similar level of form to the table , but the former does have a first try on polytrack  . The tip ran well at Chelmsford City last time and from a good draw, looks a nice ew play .

1/4pt   ew  Queen Of Romford @ 8/1

2.00 Mashan will have to look lively down in trip to obtain his preferred spot at the head of the pack , but remains on a stiff mark and could be chasing shadows against some specialists at this trip . The poorly drawn Bailey’s Accolade is also down in trip and unlikely to be able to get involved . Sir Rodneyredblood took his form to a new level in the Winter , winning off a much improved mark of 78 , and despite backing that up with a 2nd off an even higher mark running frequently on a testing mark took its toll and a rot set in . He’s only recently resumed duties and showed a bit more last time off his reducing mark and off a mark of just 68 , and from the best of the draw , worth chancing at long odds .

1/4pt win Sir Rodneyredblood @ 12/1

3.00 PREMIUM RACE

3.30 A cracking quality Class 3 handicap and the two favs are pretty much unknown quantities as Big Meeting recently returned from a long break to win a maiden at Chelmsford City , from a bad draw, allowing to start at long odds . He is on a fair mark for that win but could be a bouncer and is up in trip and has a poor draw . The other fav is Aeonian , a good 3rd in a good looking maiden at Haydock . On a fair mark but another with it to prove at the trip and this time surface. The lightly raced Dembe simply took off going handicapping on polytrack and notched a 4 timer , culminating in a win in a valuable Class 3 over C&D when finishing strongly . Since then he has predictably flopped on soft ground and if that hasn’t taken too much out of him , he remains unexposed . Both Menai Bridge and Pistoletto weren’t far away in that race but from a good draw and race make up for a late player in  a field of plenty of early , is preferred .

1/4pt  ew  Dembe @ 7/1

Selected Carlisle – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track .

1.45 Miss Brazen was a cosy winner on debut at Redcar , but that wasn’t a deep maiden and could struggle to overcome the penalty on this stiff track. Claretina did well on debut when 3rd at Redcar and is bred to appreciate the longer trip .

1/4pt  win Claretina @ 9/2

2.15 Calm Skies ran a number of big races last year without getting her nose in front . She has left Godolphin but hasn’t joined present connections cheaply. This should be her day .

1/2pt  win Calm Skies @ 6/5

2.45 The fav is Stone Circle , but the drop in trip , wide draw and quick ground no help and good Southern trainer Michael Bell has made the 450 mile round trip 4 times before with no joy .The drying ground is a major issue for both Peachy Carnehan and Mr trevor which makes the in form Muatadel a lively longshot . He did well last time  coming off the pace to be 2nd at Beverley , and this longer trip will help , but the nasty 2 pound hit was a bit uncalled for . Nicely drawn and runs this type of C&D well on quick turf .

1/2pt  ew Muatadel @ 14/1

3.15 The late playing Atollblair Boy is being given plenty of help from the handicapper and can now race in Class 6 grade . He’ll have a good pace to chase and stiff tracks fine.

1/4pt  win Athollblair Boy @ 9/2

3.45 A trio of in form young stayers but Belle Of anandale could well get the run of the race from the front and hasn’t been as badly dealt by the handicapper as eight Of Diamonds or At Liberty

1/4pt  win Belle Of Anandale @ 11/4

4.15 Iolani seriously comes to life here and this late player could well overcome a tricky handicap mark .

1/4pt  win Iolani @ 13/2

4.50 The well drawn Bungley goes a strong gallop from the front and is at his best on stiff tracks and fast turf , and remains on a fair mark .

1/4pt win  Bungley @ 5/1

5.20 There’s no doubting that Shalaa Askaa is on a good mark, but connections have been tinkering with trips and last time at Beverley was going very well until hitting the wall late on . The drop in trip will certainly help .

1/4pt win Shalaa Asker @ 5/1

Selected Nottingham – good to firm on this flat and galloping track – speed track

5.50 Gidwa is hard to knock as he’s rarely far away ,but keeps on attracting the handicapper’s attention , but should still be good enough .

1/4pt  double Gidwa @ 7/4 Pride Of Hawbridge 7.50 @ 11/8 – double pays 11/2

6.20 PREMIUM RACE

6.50 Nothing here has been even threatening to run a good race .

NO BET

7.20 Another race to leave well alone with few coming here with concrete form and plenty of dark horses in the field.

7.50 An uncompetitive heat and with Elixsoft now on a stiff mark , the coast should be clear for the front running and in form Pride Of Hawbridge , but he will find the ground quick enough .

Selected Windsor – – good to firm on this flat and galloping track – speed track

5.40 the form horse is Grace Angel, runner up in her last two runs , both times racing front rank and keeping on well  and in what looks a winnable maiden could be third time lucky .

1/2pt  win Grace Angel @ 9/2

6.10 It’s not a deep handicap and the lightly raced and already pretty useful Twelfth Night looks good to make all.

1/2pt  win Twelfth Night @ 5/4

6.40 PREMIUM RACE

7.10 A very open small field handicap but as Darvel and Invincibly are likely to take each other on early doors and likely to run their races prematurely , it’s still hard to split Lafan , Fox Power and grey Fox .

No Bet

7.40 Plenty is expected this term from Tathbeet , a £210,000 2yo , and ran well on debut at Leicester , giving every sign this longer trip will suit , which is backed up by his pedigree .Hexameter has arguably stronger form , but that did come on soft ground.

1/2pt win Tathbeet @ evens
