He’s a stiff 8 pounds higher , and is another up against unconvincing rivals , and another negative is that he is 0 from 3 going left handed , noticeably ill at ease in all of these races. Another fence sitter .

1.50 A fiercely competitive opener and of the 11 strong field , I can honestly give decent chances to 10 of them , and this has the look of guesswork . Not for me .

2.25 A weak low grade handicap and understandable that both Naughty Nadine and Mythical Star are the market leaders against such modest opposition , but this pair are hardly convincing either .

3.00 Another uncompetitive event and a clear chance can be given to recent Wolver 2nd at this trip Safety First , who had Homemade Andrea well behind , but I was with this filly quite strongly in that race and was never given a chance , held up right at the back , and she is usually ridden prominently , just when she was a good 3rd over C&D in a much better race and off a higher mark . No qualms with the draw today and is preferred over the lightly raced The Mad Monk ,who was well supported in his first handicap , which came here , but over a longer trip , and didn’t appear to be crying out for a shorter distance.

3.35 Tartarius was strong in the market on debut over C&D and gave the short priced fav a fright , running to a very decent level. Swatch brings the best form to the table , but does have stamina to prove while Jad Mahal returns from a 5 months break and unproven on this surface . Draw could have been kinder for the tip.

4.10 The market leaders in Clase Azul Ultra , Sir Henry Cotton and Top Exhibit all have a bit to prove switching surface and in some cases dropping in trip so worth trying the well handicapped Dora Penny , 3 times a winner last season , one of those coming off this mark in a good quality Class 2 handicap and has shaped up pretty well in both runs since her break on the all weather at a trip too short .

Cool spirit has made all winning his last two , the latest over C&d but off a 4 pound lower mark and is unlikely to be able to match strides with the flying C&D winner Pablo Del Pueblo . a dual C&d winner and this lightly raced sort remains unexposed .

Weebil is useful and consistent in this grade and should collect for odds on players .

3.30 Boasty ran well on his first outing for Ivan Furtado when 2nd at Wolver and shouldn’t have any issues up in trip and switching to polytrack , but up 3 pounds , which will test this short priced fav. The consistent but very hard to win with Blazer Two is unlikely to break his duck dropping significantly in trip . Lake Sand landed a double here last season , both wins off around this mark , but then struggled off a slightly higher mark . There was plenty to like about his last race , a rare try at this trip , running on well . He’s now back down to a good mark and from a good draw , unlikely to be far away. Fen tiger has put together a consistent series of runs , including a close 2nd over C&D and if overcoming a wide draw, wont be far away again .

Has to be worth a little ew on the down in grade Theoretical on a fair mark after a good 4th at Southwell and ,long enough odds to chance switching surfaces .

7.15 The handicapper has gone vey serious with the back to form Cuban Breeze , up 6 pounds for his latest win while the consistent Atiyah tries polytrack for the first time so can only be watched and also she’s one of many front runners in the field which gives a decent chance to the ultra consistent Dark Side Prince , at his best chasing a strong pace , and also well drawn . He’s a bit high in the ratings now but the race make up compensates .
