Nietzsche 3.30 @ 9/2
Straw Fan Jack 3.05 @ 8/1
Selected Leicester – good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
1.35 It’s very hard to knock the front running Ventura Rascal , 5 wins and 4 places in his last 10 starts , and resumes duties off a 3 pound higher mark , than his last win which was a most resolute effort at Ayr, beating a prolific sort in Empirestateofmind. There isn’t much early pace in this race and he does act on stiff tracks and this kind of ground and goes well fresh. Wont fail for the want of trying .
½ pt win Ventura Rascal @ 10/3
2.10 The odds on fav is Naranco , who brings the best form to the table, but his only run came over 2 months ago on the Kempton all weather , but still very much respected . I’m having a dabble on the Richard Hannon newcomer in Marsoul , a £75,000 foal and connections had to go to £100,000 to secure him as a yearling , but that’s just small change for the Qatar racing syndicate and this well connected colt worth a play at the odds .
¼ pt win Marsoul @ 11/1
4.25 The sprightly veteran Fieldsman comes into this in fine form , responding well to the ease in the ratings and was given his usual prominent ride when just touched off at this trip at Wolver . He is 1 from 1over C&D and this kind of ground is fine . There are other front runners in the field, but he does see it out well and looks a nice longshot .
½ pt ew Fieldsman @ 10/1
No Leicester placepot
Selected Newbury – probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track.
3.05 The fav Irish Hill would do well to oblige up in grade , the ratings and on quicker ground . Black Poppy got the better of Straw Fan Jack over C&D last time by a short head and both are penalised, but the form is good and this pair , who wont mind the better ground , could again fight out the finish and as the tip is a pound better off, looks a nice play in a winnable heat .
½ pt ew Straw Fan Jack @ 8/1
4.15 Kauto The King has dropped to a good mark and hopefully the ground has dried out sufficiently to allow him to run his race , and has run well here before .
¼ pt win Kauto The king @ 11/1
4.50 PREMIUM RACE
No Newbury placepot
Selected Ayr- probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track.
1.45 None of these are fully exposed and quite a few could even improve going up in trip but with so many confirmed front runners in the field, including the short priced fav City Chief, worth a try with course winner Half Track, who ran well off this mark last time and just found the soft ground against him late on .Better ground In this late player’s favour .
½ pt win Half Track @ 7/2
2.20 Another tricky contest with all of these unexposed and 3 of them capable Irish raiders, but Grey Skies has done nothing wrong winning both hurdles races very well, and the quality of the form is good enough to go close in this .
¼ pt win Grey Skies @ 7/2
2.55 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 Nietzsche won this last year , off a massive 10 pound higher mark , so has to be of interest, especially as recent runs over hurdles have been encouraging .
½ pt win Nietzsche @ 9/2
4.05 Aurora Thunder runs this track very well and was 2nd in this race last year . She looks an excellent ew play , but is now too short in the market for that kind of play , so just a dabble .
¼ pt win Aurora Thunder @ 4/1

Selected Southwell – all weather – tapeta
4.35 Rolfe Rembrandt responded to a drop in the ratings and switching to tapeta to register a clear all the way win at Newcastle , and despite a 6 pound hit , can’t be ruled out , but could struggle to dominate with a couple of reliable C&D regulars in the field in Airshow and Fast Wine , who are closely matched and both holding their form well despite now being in stiff enough marks . They are drawn together and likely to go hammer and tongs up the stands rails , but the tip does stay that bit better .
½ pt win Airshow @ 6/1
5.05 Plenty with a chance here and the fav is recent Wolver winner Drish hero , responding very well to the drop back to this trip , making all for an easy win. He’s 5 pounds higher and it’ll be tougher trying to lead this field with a lot of early pace about . Louis Treize is very unlikely to reach the heights of his 3yo days when rated in the 80’s , but has come to life since joining Rebecca Menzies with 2 wins in the last 3 starts . He’s still not one to set your watch to but won well at Wolver at this trip last time , beating a couple of reliable yardsticks , doing well racing on the unfavourable part of the track . Up 3 pounds but this late player will have an ideal strong pace to come off .
¼ pt ew Louis Treize @ 8/1
6.10 It looked quite a deep maiden when Ermin Street was a close 4th over C&D and beings proven fitness and track effectiveness to a lesser contest than last time .
¼ pt ew Ermin Street @ 6/1
6.40 Kiritimati Island has gone close here the last twice and goes up an extra furlong , which could help and this consistent late player could deservedly break his duck .
½ pt win Kiritimati Island @ 4/1
7.10 PREMIUM RACE
7.40 Plenty of dark horses here going up considerably in trip and handicapping for the first time , but I’m sticking with recent C&D winner Down To The Kid , just 2 pounds higher for a tenacious win last time .
¼ pt ew Down To The Kid @ 8/1
8.10 There is a stack of early pace in this and hard seeing any of the pacesetters : High Security , Tomshalfbrother, Brandy Station , Harrogate, Blackcurrent and Billy Dylan lasting home. Iesha goes well over C&D coming off the pace , but is drawn high, not the place to be on the straight track ridden patiently . C&d winner Raabeh is a late player and nicely drawn to run through beaten horses at long odds. The back to form Ustath could well be taken off his hooves down in trip .

Selected Dundalk – all weather – polytrack
5.50 On official ratings , recent track winner Rocky Dreams has a bit to find with Godhead and Inflection point , but had this pair behind when 2nd over C&D in a handicap and should be confirming the form as he’s one of the most reliable in this claimer .
¼ pt win Rocky Dreams @ 9/4
6.50 The very short priced fav is the maiden Rosscarberry , 0 from 9 , but rated 81 , which makes him the best horse in the race but he does drop in trip significantly and looks one to try and get beat . Cristal Clere comes here on the back of two good runs over C&D and has longshot appeal in an ordinary maiden .
¼ pt ew Cristal Clere @ 12/1
