“Challet” call him the winner in the 2.00

Selected Ascot – probably good ground on this stiff and galloping track

2.10 PREMIUM RACE

2.45 A valuable juvenile handicap and unsurprisingly the fairly short priced fav is the Irish raider Vera Verto , who beat 18 others at Navan on good to soft last time out and previously had run very well in deep novice hurdles finishing within hailing distance of the proven quality juveniles such as The tide Turns, icare Allen and HMS Seahorse who when last seen was 4th of 21 at the recent Cheltenham Festival in the Boodles Handicap , beaten just over 3 lengths off a mark of 128 , which makes the tip’s mark of just 119 most workable and she was no slouch on the flat .

¾ pt win Vera Verto @ 2/1

3.20 The drying ground isn’t really to the benefit of the ultra reliable Champagne Court , never out of the first 3 In his last 7 and rarely beaten very far but his rivals have all been unconvincing of late ,making him worth a dabble .

¼ pt win Champagne Court @ 4/1

Selected Donny – probably good ground on this flat and galloping track

1.25 Most of these would be happier over a longer trip or on the all weather and I’m with the fav in the in form El Picador , a good 3rd recently at Southwell and won on this kind of ground last season at this trip and around this mark .

¼ pt  win El Picador @ 3/1

2.00 The ultra consistent Challet goes well fresh and is only a pound higher for his last win and this front runner could well enjoy a soft lead despite the big field .

½ pt  win Challet @ 10/3

2.35 The fav is Barley, 2nd In his 2nd and final start last season , but does drop in trip, which doesn’t look ideal and there are some dark horses in the shape of newcomers from big stables and in famous colours and I’m having a dabble on the William Haggas newcomer Maljoom whose value significantly rocketed from £72,000 to £160,000 , often a telling sign .

¼ pt  win Maljoom @8/1

3.10 Dawn of Liberation ran very well In all 3 runs last season and proven at the trip, the ground and this kind of track and he’ll take some beating , but is 4/6 .

4.20 Most of these are more potent on the all weather or on softer ground . Begerac made good progress last season , winning his first handicap off a mark of 77 and ending with a win off 88 and is just a pound higher today . He ran well in his comeback spin and is likely to be front rank throughout and sees the trip out well .

¼ pt  win Bergerac @ 6/1

4.50 With question marks against the higher rated runners , Throne Hall looked a nice ew play , ticking boxes for running well fresh , ground and C&D  and also has his first start for Archie Watson , statistically a positive , but he’s been very well supported in the market and is now the 9/4 fav , so just a dabble for me .

¼ pt  win Throne Hall @ 9/4

5.25 A very tricky finale with a cluster of prolific and progressive 3yos and of course no knowing how much they’ve improved from 2-3 , but no getting away from War Horse on a good mark based on his good ground win at this trip .

¼ p  win War Horse @ 7/2

Selected Naas – probably good to soft on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

1,30 As the clear form horse in Past Time is making a right meal of shedding his maiden tag , preference is for Rosslare Strand after her promising debut when 3rd at Fairyhouse in a big field in her only start .

¼ pt  w in Rosslare Strand @ 7/2

3.15 as many of these are more potent on softer ground , the all weather , or after having a run or two into their lungs after a break , worth a dabble on the well handicapped Bonnnyrigg ,  placed in big fields a few times last season at this trip and ground and goes well fresh .

¼ pt  ew  Bonnyrigg @ 16/1

Selected Carlisle – probably good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

3.01 This is very  winnable and worth a dabble on Kitty Hall on her closing 3rd over C&D last time and she also won her bumper here . Ground could be quick enough , but could affect the others more .

¼ pt  win Kitty Hall @ 7/1

3.36 PREMIUM RACE

4.43 An absolute stack of prolific . reliable and likeable sorts and also a stack of early pace. Practically the whole field comes into this in top form , but plenty are now on stiff marks and I’m actually with one of those in the consistent No Cruise Yet , an easy winner here last time in the mud and over further , but is fine on good ground and with this likely to develop into a stamins test , he’s the one I want to be with .

¼ pt  ew  No Cruise Yet @ 15/2
