Wisper 2.50 @ 5/2
Sophosc 5.36 @ 4/1
Far From Ruby 7.58 @ 5/2
No advice for Nottingham . The small field handicaps are interesting but all full of ifs, buts and maybes .
Selected Yarmouth – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.10 Bresson brings the best form to the table but the drop in trip could open the door for recent C&D 4th Hover On The Wind , who was a market springer and certainly ran well enough in a race in which the 2nd and 3rd have both won well since .
1/4pt win Hover On The Wind @ 5/1
4.40 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Brighton – good to firm on this undulating, sharp and tricky track
2.50 The Sir Mark Prescott usual high level of success with 3yos in handicaps going up in trip , is well and truly in motion and he runs recent 3rd Arclight , a decent effort at Sandown but I prefer the chance of course specialist Wisper , who is 3 from 4 here , and last time this late player lost little in defeat chasing home a good one in Night Of Luxury , with a couple of in form runners , including Gangway, trailing in her wake. She’s up a further 2 pounds but course form can never be underestimated around this unique track . All of Arclight , Gangway and another course specialist in Junoesque , who is now just too high in the weights , are all known for front running , which should play into the tip’s hooves very nicely .
1/2pt win Wisper @ 5/2
4.55 I jumped ship from the very hard to win with Fanghorn, just intime to spectate him for once knuckling down for a return to the Winners’ Circle , but that was at Newbury and also won’t have the lead to himself with the capable veteran Fieldsman in the field, who goes very well here , but not on a stiff enough mark . All of Tintoretto , who is on a long losing run , the prolific Macs Dilemma and King of War hold clear chances , but I liked the way the tip knuckled down to the task when 2nd behind C&D specialist Ideal World when beaten 2 lengths off this mark on quick ground .
1/4pt win King Of War @ 4/1
Selected Sandown – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
5.36 A decent Class 4 handicap for amateur jockeys , but riding shouldn’t be an issue as most of the jockeys are experienced and able. A true run race is assured with perennial front runner Bad Company sure to take them along at a good gallop , but he’s been struggling off his new mark and hard seeing him going all the way , and he’ll have company from a couple of winners in Bruno’s Gold, 2 wins in just 4 tries and just 3 pounds higher for a win at Ayr , but that was a close finish , so would need to improve to land this, which after just 4 runs is entirely possible . Study The stars will also be close up, but despite having the excellent Simon Walker aboard, the 8 pound hit looks too much for this exposed runner . Sophosc always runs his race and was kept on the all weather for some time but was a smart winner over hurdles on good ground and under this jockey , gave them all a head start and a wiling beating at Newbury and is just 2 pounds higher and holds Fast steps on the form , and this one has stamina issues anyway . Nice play to bound up the hill for another win .
1/2pt win Sophosc @ 4/1
7.15 The short priced fav is the Gosden trained Frantastic , who runs in famous colours and is only run this season came in a group 3 over C&D , but was well beaten , running to a level of his only other race on turf of 79, making his mark of 87 looking decidedly tough . The prominent racing Maytree Respite made a right fist of it over C&D last time , but had to give best late on , and was narrowly ahead of Cosmic Desert , who is still a maiden and may well get worried out of it again . Conservative has a bit to prove going up in trip . .
1/4pt win Maytree Respite @ 10/3

6.40 The short priced fav is recent Goodwood 2nd XJ Rascal, who ran an extraordinary race . Not for the first time he was slowly away , but never as slowly as this but ate up the ground to be denied by a head , at this trip and mark . He is likely to leave this mark behind him in time but not for me at short odds. Impulsive Reaction has run well in all 3 races , usually from the front . He stays this trip well , acts on quick ground and on a fair mark in his nursery debut , in what doesn’t look a deep race.
1/2pt ew Impulsive Reaction @ 8/1
7.10 Plenty of in form types but the bang in form Sound Of iona, 3 wins and 2 seconds on his last 5 , is now looking on too high a mark and grade. Juan Les pins has been coaxed back to his best landing all 3 races for Mike Appleby , but his new mark was beyond him when at his peak . The lightly raced Quest For Fun is on a hat-trick and with an able 5 pound claimer aboard , his penalty has been gobbled up. He has serious claims , but short enough in the market . Mojomaker has run his best two races over this C&D and remains on a competitive mark and likely to be front rank throughout .
1/2pt ew Mojomaker @ 15/2
7.40 No shortage of early pace in this which is good news for the in form youngster Kape Moss , who ran a blinder last time out , coming off the pace to be a close 3rd at Glorious Goodwood , when badly drawn . Nice ew play with so many rivals on testing marks .
1/2pt ew Kape Moss @ 9/1
8.10 Another race with plenty of in form runners , but of course handicapped accordingly . Emaraaty Hero is rarely far away , coping well enough off his new mark . He’s been 2nd in 3 of his last 4 and likely to be in the thick of things again .
1/4pt ew Emeraaty Hero @ 10/1
8.40 Good Birthday is 2 from 2 over C&D and has been given a chance by the handicapper now dropping in grade . He’s been going pretty well of late but just a dabble on ground which will be quick enough .
1/4pt win Good Birthday @ 7/2
Selected Ayr – good ground on this flat and galloping track .
6.53 All of Riot, Black Friday and probable pace setter Poet’s Magic all being fine credentials to the table but at the odds I’m with 7 times course winner Tommy G , who’s finally been given a chance by the handicapper .
1/4pt ew Tommy G @ 12/1
7.58 Bobby Shaftoe landed only a weak race last time and up in the ratings , grade and trip, looks an also ran. Very hard knocking Flylikeaneagle who has taken off since joining the Lucinda Russell stable , but the 7 pound hit looks a stopper . Far From A ruby has been knocking on the door of late , including over C&D . Has a 2 pound penalty but tonight is partnered by a very able 7 pound claimer .
1/2pt win Far From A Ruby @ 11/4
8.32 Quite a tight finale but the nod goes to recent close C&D 2nd Russian Virtue , who remains off this well workable mark .
1/4pt win Russian Virtue @ 7/2
