3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Windtothelightning 12.50 @ 13/8
Firestream 1.05 @ 5/4
Bridge Road 4.20 @ 4/1
Selected Sedgefield – good to soft on this sharp and undulating track
12.50 In an uncompetitive novice hurdle , the lightly raced Windtothelightning comfortably brings the best form to the table and relatively good odds .
1/2pt win Windtothelightning @ 13/8
1.25 I was strong on Twoshotsoftequila last time and ran really well to be a close 3rd, that race coming here . There’s definitely a race in him off this mark and despite a few concerns : down in trip , on quicker ground and usual hood missing , I’d be sick to miss him .
1/4pt win Twoshotsoftequila @ 9/2
2.00 The lightly raced Matchless handled the soft ground very well when sluicing in last time and as he’s still in the infancy of his hurdling career , worth chancing he can overcome a 5 pound hit .The prolific Al Zaraqaan struggled off this new mark last time .
1/4pt win Matchless @ 5/2
2.35 A similar type in the hat-trick seeking Arthur’s quay , two good recent wins at around this trip on soft ground. 6 pound hit to overcome and drying ground a concern but is up against more exposed types.
1/4pt win Arthur’s Quay @ 9/4
3.10 Socks Off and the well backed Basford fought out the finish over C&D recently on soft ground and both have fairly stiff penalties . Maggie Barrett is holding her form pretty well , is a course winner and remains on a workable mark.
1/4pt win Maggie Barrett @ 5/1
3.45 PREMIUM RACE
4.20 The hat-trick seeking pair of Russian Virtue and C&D specialist Silkstone are bound to go well despite their penalties but preference is for the ultra reliable Bridge Road , a good run off this mark last time .
1/4pt win Bridge Road @ 4/1
No advice for Naas
Selected Fontwell – probably good ground on this sharp track
1.05 The prominent racing Firestream brings comfortably the best form to the table and drying ground shouldn’t be an issue .
1/2pt win Firestream @ 5/4
2.15 PREMIUM RACE
2.50 The prolific Coolvalla likes it here but has a massive 11 pound penalty and drying ground not in his favour while another prolific sort in Juniper is another course winner and this progressive mare made a mockery of what looked like a competitive handicap last time . She’s up 7 pounds , which could be manageable but I’m having a dabble on the well handicapped out and out stayer Echo Watt , who has run some solid races of late .
1/4pt win Echo Watt @ 9/2
