Selected Ayr – heavy ground on this flat and galloping track

1.15 The veteran Royal Regent is not the decent type he was a few years ago, winning here , in fact all 6 career wins have come here , off marks in the high 70’s , but is still enjoying his racing and took advantage of a plummeting mark to win over C&D earlier in the year on soft ground , but off a lower mark and grade, but there was nothing wrong with his recent effort , when a 3 lengths 3rd , again over C&D , off this mark , and in a much better race , and today’s softer ground has to be in his favour . Would have been more confident with a more positive jockey booking .

1/4pt  ew Royal Regent @ 11/1

2.25 A chance can be given to many but at the odds , like the look of Chinese Spirit , who has been holding his form generally well , runs the C&D well and handles soft ground .

1/4pt ew Chinese Spirit @ 16/1

3.35 The mud loving First Greyed took advantage of a plummeting mark last time out at Thirsk , with the ground at last in his favour , winning with ease . Up 5 pounds , but even softer ground in his favour , and went close off this mark last year and his peak form comes on heavy ground .

1/2pt win First Greyed @ 4/1

4.10 One Last Hug  is only modest , but highly consistent , and comes here in his usual good form , but has a rotten win record , but this won’t take much winning and has form on soft ground .

1/4pt  ew One Last Hug @ 8/1

4.45 This trip in the mud could be too far for recent winner Slainte Mhaith while both Bobby Shaftoe and  Emerald Lady have it to prove on the ground . Tar Heel continues to drop in the ratings , and did show a bit more last time . He has a rare run in Class 6 , ground fine , but is another with a rotten win record , but another winnable heat .

1/4pt win Tar Heel @ 13/2

Selected Worcester – good ground on this flat and galloping track

2.06 I’m happy taking on the short priced fav Rainyday Woman , who notched a hat-trick last season , but ended the season on a low , and peak performances have come on easier ground and right handed tracks , and makes her chase debut today . The only runner in the field with chase experience is the incredibly consistent Fortunes Melody , and these have come in handicap company off a mark of around 120, so brings a good level to the table . Voice Of Calm was a very progressive mare last season , and ended with another big run , a close 3rd in a Haydock handicap , at around this trip off a mark of 127 . If ready to go and if handling larger obstacles , is an obvious danger .

1/4pt win Fortunes Melody @ 2/1

Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack

6.30 Very few come here with any kind of encouragement , and despite taking another hike in the ratings, track regular Dors Toyboy is selected . In his last 5 runs he has 2 wins and 2 seconds , and comes here on the back of another big run  when a neck second to Proud Fairy , who went on to run a big race next time under a penalty . The tip has a 3 pound penalty for that race , putting him comfortably on a career high mark , but he’s running out of his skin , while his opponents aren’t .

1/2pt win Dors Toyboy @ 4/1

7.30 The capable The Game is On hasn’t been with the good stable of George Baker very long , and was again well supported , but this time the money didn’t go astray , and came home a cosy winner over C&D . The 3 pound penalty shouldn’t be an issue , based on old form , but the wide draw won’t help and the consistent  late playing Blairlogie was only 2 lengths behind and has a 3 pound pull with The Game Is On. He did very well to get so close as the pace was at best steady , and with the down in grade Victory Star likely to go a strong gallop, gives the tip a decent chance of nailing these late on.

1/2pt win Blairlogie @ 5/1

8.00 It’s very hard seeing what can stop course specialist Schwartz notching the 5 timer , as he’s been winning so easily , the 4 pound hit unlikely to stop him . He’s 4 from 4 for George Rooke , who takes the ride tonight aboard this tactically versatile type .

1/2pt win Schwartz @ 6/4

8.30 The short priced fav is recent Wolver winner Captain  Howse , a deserved win  after two consecutive 2nds, but was all out to prevail and the 3 pound hit likely to test , despite being proven on polytrack . Preference is for the very consistent mate Love Poems , who brings much stronger form to the table with a creditable close 3rd at this trip at Lingfield , behind a pair of progressive types . Tactically versatile as opposed to the fav who likes to dominate , and may well have unwanted company tonight .

1/2pt  win Love Poems @ 7/2
