3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Barton Knoll 1.50 @ 5/2
Kansas City Chief 2.25 @ 9/2
Volcano 3.45 @ 3/1
Selected Donny – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.50 This has a very winnable look to it and the well handicapped C&D specialist Barton Knoll has the ground in his favour and will be hard to beat .
1/2pt win Barton Knoll @ 5/2
2.25 Another veteran with a solid chance is the front running and most tough in the finish Kansas City Chief , who ran a blinder over C&D two starts back when only beaten 2 lengths , but was entitled to do better than a remote 4th next time out . This again is not a deep race and another with the ground in their favour .
1/2pt win Kansas City Chief @ 9/2
3.00 Dare I say it, another uncompetitive heat and the clear form horse is the very much back to form The Kings Writ . Both of his recent good runs have come on soft ground , but does have useful good ground form in the book .
1/4pt win The Kings Writ @ 5/2
Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping
2.45 The nod goes to the in form Mujid , who has responded well to the big drop in the ratings and his recent 3rd over C&D off a higher mark , reads well in the context of this task .
1/4pt win Mujid @ 4/1
3.20 Quite a good quality Class 3 handicap and quite easy to read with confirmed front runner The Bell Conductor , who hasn’t cut much ice in his two starts since returning from a long absence off this very stiff mark , sure to try and make all, but on current evidence , likely to be a sitting duck late on . Emperor’s Spirit is another early pacer , but struggling to get his head in front which may change now running for a different stable but does drop in trip . Lord Ruddiford has been holding his form well of late and has good form over C&D off a slightly higher mark . Races prominently and sees it out well .
1/4pt ew Lord Ruddiford @ 8/1
5.05 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Ludlow – probably good ground on this flat and sharp track
3.10 An uncompetitive heat and looks a match between recent Market Rasen all the way winner Patient Dream and the consistent if luckless John Betjeman , who gets the nod at the weights .
1/4pt win John Betjeman @ 7/2
3.45 A chance can be given to most of these but preference is for the reliable C&D winner Volcano , likely to be front rank, keeps it going well and still on a workable mark.
1/2pt win Volcano @ 3/1
4.52 Another uncompetitive event and it’ll be disappointing if the well handicapped Grizzly James can’t get the better of these .
1/4pt win Grizzly James @ 9/4
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
5.30 The consistent Mister X holds his form well . Nicely drawn for a prominent racer , proven at the track and has less to prove than most .
1/4pt ew Mister X @ 8/1
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.00 Plenty of in form types in this , but many now on stiff enough marks . Lady Loulou is with a top stable and handicapping could be the making of her .
1/4pt win Lady Loulou @ 6/1
No Kempton placepot
