Selected Nottingham – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.10 Worth a flutter on the promising Miss Gallagher , the first produce of Mrs Gallager , who was a Listed Class sprinter . The tip was all at sea on her debut but still showed promise and she was supported in the market last time in a Yarmouth maiden , as usual for that track , deep looking , and she ran well for a long way . Jim Crowley has a terrific record around here and takes the reins for the first time .
1/4pt win Miss Gallagher @ 13/2
1.45 Porfin landed a first ever success on turf last time but the double looks tough with a stiff penalty and drop in trip. Grandfather Tom continues to run well and a decent chance of this front runner upgrading a number of recent good placed efforts off around this mark and trip .
1/4pt win Grandfather Tom @ 5/1

3.10 The stand out piece of form is Maylandsea’s excellent 2nd at Royal Ascot , coming off the pace to beat 19 others ! There is a stack of early pace in this which provides an ideal race make up and not hard seeing her smoothly going through the gears late on to land this Class 1 sprint .
3/4pt win Maylandsea @ 5/2
3.40 Not a deep nursery and the clear form horse is recent Sandown winner Miss Attitude , who is all about speed and on this easier track , will be hard to peg back off what looks a favourable handicap mark .
1/2pt win Miss Attitude @ 3/1

2.10 Eldeyaar has yet to strike , but is getting closer with the ease in grade and the ratings and comes here on the back of a close 3rd at Southwell off this mark and trip , and the form is good .
1/4pt win Eldeyaar @ 3/1
2.45 There’s a stack of early pace in this which will aid the cause of triple C&d winner Nacho , a late player , and still on a competitive mark .
1/4pt win Nacho @ 5/1
3.48 This is very weak and does look a penalty kick for Sir Mark Prescott’s youngster Dawahy , after a decent effort last time and the longer trip in her favour .
1/2pt win Dawahy @ 11/8

Selected Newmarket – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
5.10 Godolphin’s Bold act ran a cracker on debut over C&D on quick ground when a close 2nd , and looks very much poised to go one better, but is 1/3 .
No Bet
5.45 The consistent Aleatoric drops in trip massively , from 2 miles to 6 furlongs , so hardly a contender while Equiano springs is not really getting close enough to be of interest . Wajd is only lightly raced and pulled clear over C&D last time and could be up to the stiff 6 pound hit . Very hard to knock Prince Of Bel air , 3 wins in his last 5 , and mark looks manageable but does have a rare try on a stiff track . Counsel won well last time but on the all weather and over further . On a fair mark , but trip likely to be too short , despite being a front runner .
1/4pt win Wajd @ 9/4
6.15 Godolphin is 3 handed here but the once raced Lenormand , whose run was only OK , is a long odds on fav . Godolphin 2nd or 3rd strings have surprised before.
No bet
6.48 Fulfilled was a most unlucky 3rd last time when the Head Waiter , Jamie Spencer , not for the first time in his long career, overcooked things. With a strong pace assured and the wide open spaces of Newmarket making traffic problems unlikely , looks good for compensation .
1/2pt win Fulfilled @ 15/8
7.23 You can go through this field finding strong negatives against the vast majority , so worth trying the reliable Goddess of Fire, who returned from a similar length absence to win on her comeback spin this season . Her mark is high enough but does go well here and if electing to front run, this willing mare could take some catching .
1/4pt ew Goddess Of Fire @ 15/2
7.58 A competitive finale but good reasons being with the unbeaten Chasing Aphrodite . Winning first time out is always a good sign and he backed that up with a fine win over C&D when front rank throughout and kept on the best to get the better of a couple of useful maidens, running to a level which makes his lofty opening mark manageable .
1/2pt win Chasing Aphrodite @ 7/2

Selected Thirsk – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.37 I’m happy taking on the recent winners Diamondsonthehill and Grizedale with their penalties ,as before their wins , their marks looks tough enough , so likely to have landed winnable events . C&d winner Frog And Toad hasn’t had the best of luck since but off just a pound higher , has clear ew claims .
1/4pt ew Frog And toad @ 6/1
6.07 You could argue that off this very competitive mark that Alligator Alley is a winner about to happen , but I would argue that he is hardly shaping like snapping out of the 2 year losing streak . He’s a late player , which is to his advantage in a race full of pace , but even if getting his finger out , is not a good bet at 6/4. Birkenhead has put his reputation of being hard to win with behind him with 3 wins this season , and also lost another one in The Stewards Room . Not for the first time he ran a stinker at Musselburgh last time out and previously beat 19 others in a York handicap . Up in grade and the ratings , but still rates a lively longshot in a race with few contenders .
1/4pt ew Birkenhead @ 14/1

6.40 This looks very much a match between the rejuvenated Jamih and the consistent Glan Y Gors , separated by only a short head over C&D recently on quick ground , but Jamih wears first time cheekpieces , never used by the stable before, which sways me towards the tip. Valley Of Flowers needs much softer ground .
1/4pt win Glan Y Gors @ 7/2
7.15 Not nearly enough information to make a formative judgement regarding this maiden .

7.50 Connections saw something they liked about installation , as his price soared from a modest £14,000 as a yearling to a massive £230,000 as a 2yo, and started his career well with a good 3rd at York . I’m happy to watch at even money , but he could be one to keep an eye on .

8.25 4 of the 7 are known for front running , which won’t help those battling for early supremacy . The strong pace will bring La Felle’s stamina into play and despite being 3 pounds higher for a win at Redcar in lower grade , he fits the race requirements best .
