GieWONT need a second invitation in the 8.20

Selected Salisbury – good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

1.00This a very weak apprentices handicap , and by some way , the clear form horse is recent Donny close 2nd Fanghorn , who generously stays on the same mark , and the winner has done very well since . He’s partnered by a very much in form rider in Rose Dawes and  as the tip is also proven on stiff tracks, should notch an overdue win , as presently has a poor win record of 1 from 18, but 6 2nds , and in this field, very disappointing if he can’t double his win tally .

¾ pt  win Fanghorn @ 13/8

2.05 Early season 3yo handicaps are often tricky as many have just started handicapping and also tackling a more appropriate trip . Viadelmore is 1 from 1 in handicaps, winning as he liked at Redcar and could be up to the 5 pound hit. Teumessias Fox was outclassed in LIsted company last time but still has plenty to prove on turf . The reliable Madame Ambassador will give it a right good go , but looks a few pounds too high in the handicap .

¼ pt  win Viadelmore @5/2

3.45 Another tricky 3yo handicap, but I’d rather just watch recent Lingfield winner After Eight, returning from a 2 months absence , up in trip and having a first try on turf . Loudspeaker was doing all of his best work late on at Beverley and this longer trip will suit , which is supported by the pedigree , and both the winner and 2nd in that Beverley race have won since . Both Borntobealeader and Greatness Awaits comes into this in decent form and bred for this longer trip .

¼ pt  win Loudspeaker @ 2/1

Selected York – good ground on this flat and galloping track – speed track

1.50 A very tricky yet good quality handicap sprint and start , as usual with  where the early pace will come . The ultra consistent Fine Wine is sure to bomb out and so will C&D winner Bedford Flyer , but he’s missed the kick a few times of late , and a  repetition of tardiness will leave him facing an uphill battle . 5 times C&D winner Copper Knight was back to his very best last season and is another likely to be front rank early , but does resume duties on a stiff mark and the Tim Easterby horses have been needing  their first run back, at least ! Good effort is far more potent on the all weather and over an extra furlong , and hasn’t been at his best of late while Mountain Peak led last time out for a long way until just giving best last time late on . If he opts to try and lead again , there’s going to be aa terrifically strong pace, as Metjahm is another front runner,  which can only help the late players . Most of the pace horses are drawn low which may catch the fav , the prolific Raasel out , who has won 7 of his 9 starts on turf and beat a good one at Goodwood cleverly , but if it was clever enough to defy a 7 pound penalty is the question . Jawwaal is a very effective late player who remains on a workable mark and nicely drawn close to the pace . His record running fresh is patchy but worth risking at nice odds . Digital was a good 3rd last time off this mark , which looks a bit high now for win purposes .

¼ pt   ew Jawwaal @ 11/1

2.25 The two Irish mares in Forbearing and Thunder kiss bring strong form to the race but this trip is too short for them . There is very little between Lilac Road , Ville de Grace and Noon Star on form lines which must make the former the bet at the odds with no issues with trip or ground .

¼ pt  ew  Lilac Road @ 9/1

3.00 PREMIUM RACE

3.35 The Group 2 Dante Stakes and this is often a rehearsal for The Epsom Derby and this is so tough , with the likes  of Desert Crown , currently the Derby 2nd fav , and White Wolf impossible to fully assess as they’re both 1 from 1 while the form horse . El Bodegon’s best form has come on deep ground . I’m with The Derby fancy .

¼ pt  win Desert Crown @ 7/2

4.10 PREMIUM RACE

5.20 The prolific Mister Milliner was 8 lengths behind Ahorsewithnoname on his return to duties , and just looks too high in the weights . In a race where few count , I’m with the reliable and tough Ravenscraig Castle to get the better of this racing on more workable mark than Ahorsewithnoname.

¼ pt win Ravenscraig Castle @ 3/1

Selected Perth – good to soft on this flat and sharp track

2.15 On the ratings, this should be a straight fight between the Irish raiders in Battle frontier and Cirque Royal, and the selection has to be the latter as his main rival drops significantly in trip .

¼ pt  win Cirque Royal @ 9/4

2.45 The double looks very much on for Champagnesuperover against modest opposition and the form of Brave Way needs to improve by at least a stone to trouble the election .

½ pt  win Champagnesuperover @ 13/8

3.20 PREMIUM RACE

3.55 Clear chances can be given to all of Notre Pari , Fire away , Aurora Thunder and Ovethetop , and the latter is a prolific sort but on a good mark resuming duties after an absence of over 2 years , but stays with the good stable , so not impossible , but the nod goes to the consistent Kajaki who looks a very nice ew play as he remains competitive off this mark and C&d looks fine .

¼ pt   ew  Kajaki @ 8/1

4.25 PREMIUM RACE

4.55 Highly competitive but if Fresh New Dawn can secure an early lead, which is very possible , could take a bit of catching as form at this trip around this mark , is the best on show.

¼ pt    win Fresh New Dawn @ 6/1

Richie Valentine 6.20 @ 5/1

Selected Fontwell – good ground on this sharp track

5.45 The consistent and willing Mickyh will give it another good go from the front , but mark is creeping higher and the shorter distance wont help. Sword Beach won tidily  at Plumpton before flopping in the Sandown mud in a race for military riders, well excusable , but the consistent Hit The rocks was only a length behind at Plumpton , has a good pull in the weights and slightly longer trip in his favour .

½ pt   ew  Hit The rocks @ 12/1

6.20 The frustrating Dogon has his first start for Richard Newland but as he’s  a pushover in the finish , I prefer recent winner Richie Valentine, who beat an in form rival very well and could be up to defying the 5 pound hit as he could still be classified as unexposed .

½ pt  win Richie Valentine @ 5/1

Selected Newmarket – good ground on this undulating , galloping and stiff track

7.45 Haunted Dream is progressing really well , 2 from 2 this year and looks capable of defying the 4 pound pull as he brings very  decent form to the table .

½ pt  win Haunted Dream @ 11/4

8.20 After two smart wins on the all weather, Giewont lost nothing at all in defeat when 3rd of 16 over C&D , when ridden a bit too far off the pace to do any damage and the form is good as the 2nd horse has won since . Another big run very likely .

½ pt  ew  Giemont @ 11/2
