Leopardstown – soft ground on this mostly flat and galloping track with an uphill finish .

1.30 You really are guessing in this juvenile Listed race with all of the field lightly raced , quite a few are 1 from 1 and soft ground an unknown for most . Nice race to watch .
2.05 The lightly raced Andreas Vesalius ended his 2yo career with 3 runs in Group races , not disgraced in any , but never looked like winning , but the fact the top stable thought he was worth a try at that level remains interesting . He’s only had 3 runs in handicaps , a close 2nd at Naas and a very unlucky 4th at Galway , and in the other race was simply drawn out of it . He has very generously been dropped a healthy 3 pounds from the Galway run and as he has a nice draw, and is 1 from 1 on soft ground, very nice ew play .
1/2pt ew Andreas Vesalius @ 8/1
2.40 These 5 youngsters have only raced 9 times in total, but already have won a race each , and again impossible to know which of these have a little bit extra up their sleeve . I made this an equal race so worth a dabble on the longshot Caroline Street , an all the way winner over C&D on her debut and not disgraced in Group company next time.
1/4pt win Caroline Street @ 16/1
3.10 I am rather taken by the chance of relatively unexposed Duke de Sessa , who landed a Group 3 here in his last race as a juvenile and has kept warm company all season , and every time has been staying on to effect over shorter distances , giving the impression this distance will see an even bigger run , a theory backed up by his pedigree as the very tough dame won over even longer trips than this , and on soft ground. The tip is 1 from 1 on soft ground and in a tough race to call with both Earl Of Tyrone and Point King both on rolls and hard to fully assess , the tip looks a very nice ew play.
1/2pt ew Duke de Sessa @ 7/1
3.45 The Irish Champion Stakes , a Group 1 worth around £500,000 and understandable that the short priced fav is the prolific French raider Vadeni , who comes here on the back of a win in The Group 1 Eclipse , a smart win considering the ground was quick enough and his previous win in Group 1 Prix Du Jockey Club, was a career best run , and this was on soft ground .He only beat the useful Mishrif by a neck in The Eclipse , bt Vadani’s record of 5 wins in 7 starts is hard to get away from especially as the once prolific Mishrif has only 1 win in his last 8 !
1/2pt win Vadeni @ 5/4
4.20 Just Beautiful excelled last season , and ended with a gutsy win in a Donny Group 3 , and that was when her trainer was Ivan Furtado , a no disrespect to that team , but is only a relatively small stable , and the majority of his runners moderate , so you do wonder what she could achieve for a stronger stable . She cost only £20,000 and was recently sold for £650,000 ! and now runs for the very able stable of Paddy Twomey . Her record is terrific , 5 wins , a close 2nd and a very respectable 6th of 13 ,in a Group 1 , beaten just 2 lengths by the likes of Saffron Beach and Alcohol Free . So she runs her race whatever is chucked at her and today’s trip and ground should both be fine . This is her first race for a year , but to come here , connections must be happy for her to take her chance in this Group 2 . Boundless Queen is certainly progressive and comes here on a hat-trick , her last two wins coming here , but softer ground a slight concern. The nod goes to the highly consistent Jadoomi . 4 wins and 4 thirds in 8 runs and recently resumed duties after a lengthy break with two wins , both times given a prominent ride , and both times battling tenaciously for the win , both victories being on soft ground .
1/2pt win Jadoomi @ 2/1
4.55 There’s no football today , but this is certainly The Match Of The Day , between a couple of classy and prolific fillies in English raider Saffron Beach and for the home team Homeless Songs, who recorded a career best run last time out upped to this trip for the first time , landing a Curragh Group 1 , winning by 5 lengths . She’s very much a hold up type , and may have been flattered by that wide margin win as they went a terrific gallop , with plenty racing front rank. There won’t be a strong gallop today with most of the field liking to be played late which is very good news for the tip, who races prominently , is a 5 time Group winner , twice at Group 1 and proven on soft ground , and stays this trip strongly and her form compares closely with that of the short priced fav .
3/4pt win Saffron Beach @ 2/1
5.30 Been through this big field handicap a few times and few come into this with strong credentials, considering the tact ahead . Jesse Evans is a very useful hurdler , rated 138, which puts him spot on with a mark of 88 on the flat , and only failed by a head at Killarney over 2 miles, but was only 4th next time when a short priced fav , but that came in a race for amateur riders , ridden by an inexperienced jockey . He drops in trip today , but as a 2 mile hurdler , that won’t be an issue and over this shorter trip , we can expect a prominent ride , as he was given in the very valuable Galway Hurdle , when narrowly beaten , and never stopped trying . He has form on soft ground and interesting that the now UK based Oisin Orr takes the ride and has ridden plenty of winners here .
1/2pt ew Jesse Evans @ 11/1
