Rory to roar in

Today’s Multi

3 £1 doubles £1 ew treble

Late Arrival 4.00 @ 15/2

Gearings Point 8.15 @ 11/4

Rory 4.45 @ 9/4

Selected Ayr – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

2.15 Very much a match between two Southern trained horses from big stables and both running in famous colours . Lil’ frank and Tajawal are rarely far away , and today offers a great opportunity to shed that maiden tag . At this trip and on the ground , the tip can upset the odds on fav .

1/4pt win Lil’ Frank @ 9/4

2.45 The ultra reliable Alethiometer is up 2 pounds for another big run when 2nd last time , but hard seeing what can stop her .

1/2pt win Alethiometer @ 6/5

3.15 ALL of these have chances on their best form and a bunched finish looks the likely outcome , but I can’t be sure of a winner .

3.45 Aighear is more potent on soft ground but ran well enough on better ground last time to be a consideration , but three in form unexposed types in  Baez. Imperative and Annandale go up in trip and may well improve upon their already solid form .

4.15 The consistent Stay Smart ticks the most boxes but with no wins for over 2 years , it’s a race I can swerve .

No Bet

4.45 Rory has run better since switching to longer trips and has found himself in a most winnable heat , He’s been a close 2nd in his last two races and it should well be third time lucky .

1/2pt win Rory @ 9/4

Selected Thirsk – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

2.30 The short priced fav is the Southern trained Je Ne Sais Quoi after her good debut run in the Ascot mud , and the two ahead of her have won since ,but today’s much quicker ground presents a question mark and preference is for Midnight Lir , a close 4th in higher grade last time on good ground and very much bred for the extra furlong .

1/2pt ew Midnight Lir @ 5/1

3.00 Tyndrum Gold is 2 from 2 , but both on the all weather and returns from a 6 months break with a double penalty and would do very well to give so much weight to the consistent filly Rajindra ,

1/4pt win Rajindra @ 9/4

3.30 The late playing Menelaus was foiled narrowly over C&D last time and despite a 2 pound nudge , this will take little winning .

1/4pt win Menelaus @ 5/2

4.00 Hail Sezer is a consistent sort and despite frequent nudges up the ratings , continues to run  big races . He recently resumed duties with an unlucky looking short head 2nd at Wetherby , but finds himself 2 pounds higher today and jockey Tony Hamilton hasn’t had a winner here for 2 years ! The free going Late Arrival wasn’t far away when 3rd of 16 at Haydock recently , doing well from a poor draw. He could well get his own way up front today and take some catching on this speed track .

1/2pt win Late Arrival @ 15/2

4.30 It’s a modest looking handicap and the short priced fav is recent Salisbury winner Lady Rascal , but it wasn’t much of a race and she’s up 5 pounds and attempts a longer trip, which should suit on pedigree , but an easy swerve .

Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta

5.30 We know where we stand with the vast majority of these and the back to form Sun Festival is hard to support with a career record of 1 from 27 . Worth chancing the lightly raced filly Lailah , who showed promise last time in her first handicap and is with a good stable . Longer trip should help.

1/4pt  win Lailah @ 7/2

6.30 Mother Margaret brings good form to the contest when 2nd at Newbury in the mud , but it was only a small field and I prefer taking a chance with newcomer Queen Of Sparta , a $200,000 yearling running in famous colours and trainer George Boughey can ready them first time  and Oisin Murphy rides .

1/4pt  ew Queen Of Sparta @ 8/1

7.30 This has a winnable look to it and as Cuban Breeze showed a lot more last time , and has been dropped in the ratings again , this well drawn front runner could be away and gone . This well drawn runner is a dual course winner and won well off a 4 pound higher mark last season .

1/4pt win Cuban Breeze @ 5/1

8.00 Peachey Carnehan has been running his race consistently for some time now and did well last time on turf when a close 5th over a trip short of his best . This 5 time course winner could have been better drawn , but as he’s a late player , won’t be too much of an issue and looks a very lively longshot in a winnable heat . Danzart has been completely transformed in his last two runs , landing a 20 runner handicap with ease and following up with another easy win in a big field handicap . The way he’s been winning , the 5 pound hit could well be within in range , but in 6 tries on tapeta , has yet to even reach the frame . May remain is sure to set a scorching pace , and well drawn to take them along , and could last out but the strong pace will suit the tip. The consistent Billian is now just a touch too high in the ratings but another late player in Jumeira Bridge is another running well on this surface and worth a saver .

1/2pt  ew Peachy Carnehan @ 14/1, 1/4pt ew Jumeira Bridge @ 12/1  1/4pt rev fc

9.00 Not a deep finale and a fine chance for the lightly raced Sarkha to double up on his polytrack win last time and is still 3 pound below when he was only beaten just 2 lengths over C&D in higher grade.

1/2pt win Sarkha @ 4/1

Selected Windsor – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

6.15 The fav is The Line who brings strong looking form when 3rd at Ascot , but it was only a small field and the first time hood is a big negative for the good stable . Interestingly , Battle Charge’s value soared from £82,000 as a foal to £180,000 as a yearling , often a very good sign . He showed plenty of pace before weakening late on and likely to do better tonight .

1/4pt  ew Battle Charge @ 9/1

6.45 Lady Dreamer ran two good races last season but returned from a lengthy break with a very disappointing effort , running 20 pounds below her best . There are some interesting newcomers in this and worth trying the well related Bugle Beads , who runs in famous colours for a top stable .

1/4pt win  Bugle Beads @ 9/2

7.15 This sharp C&D on quick ground won’t be much help to the consistent which should open the door to the consistent C&d winner Eminency , an unlucky 3rd last time . Not a deep race .

1/2pt win Eminency @ 10/3

7.45 Another winnable race and Silver Gunn brings solid C&D form into the race and should be good enough .

1/4pt win Silver Gunn @ 11/4

8.15 It wasn’t the deepest of races which Blazer Two win last time at Leicester , and he incurs no penalty , so is respected but clear preference is for Gearing’s Point , a shock but easy winner at this trip on the Lingfield polytrack and followed up with a close 3rd here on quick ground , over a trip short of her best .

1/2pt ew Gearing’s Point @ 11/4

8.45 There was a flood of money for the once useful Cliffs Of Capri at Ponty last time , but could only manage a decent 5th . That was just his 5th ever run in Class 5 in a long career , the other 4 times resulted in 2 wins and 2 places and this more conventional track should suit .

1/4pt ew Cliffs Of Capri @ 11/1
