£1 trixie & £1 treble
Gold Des Bois 1.55 @ 5/1
The Mighty Potter 1.40 @ 5/4
State Man 3.10 @ 5/6
Selected Leopardstown – probably good to soft on this mostly flat and galloping track
1.10 PREMIUM RACE
1.40 The Mighty Potter has looked the real deal since going over fences , he brings the best form to the table and like all good horses , is versatile when it comes to trip, track or ground . Will be hard to beat .
3/4pt win The Mighty Potter @ 5/4
2.10 Blue Lord has won 6 of his 7 chases and it’ll be the shock of the day if this 1/4 shot fails to collect .
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.10 The exceptional mare Honeysuckle goes for the 4 timer in this Grade 1 Irish Champion Hurdle , and for once isn’t a warm order . She came into her latest race a perfect 16 of 16 but was only 3rd at Fairyhouse . The race was over a longer trip and on deep ground , and the winner has gone in again, impressively . Despite her mark being 165 , she hasn’t reached that level for 2 years and her level of performance last time was around 158 , in keeping with her other recent runs . She is likely to be playing second fiddle to the new kid on the block in 2 mile hurdles in the 6 timer seeking State Man, who is rated 167 , and that lofty mark could underestimate him . Likely to extend his sequence .
3/4pt win State Man @ 5/6
Selected Musselburgh – probably good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.22 The short priced fav is the Paul Nicholls trained ex – French Afadil , who cost connections a right old wedge , £255,000 but the level of his performance when winning on debut is way below some of the other contenders , and also drying ground could be an issue . Irish raider Bringbackmemories won easily over C&D last time in the mud , but a previous run at Sedgefield on good ground was disappointing . Fils De Roi was a clear winner on his hurdles debut and made a right fist of it in a Chepstow Grade 2 hurdle in the mud , until falling at the last and is preferred .
1/4pt win Fils Du Roi @ 5/2
1.55 A wide open Class 3 chase and the most interesting contender is the very well handicapped front running Fidelio Vallis , who returns from an absence of over a year , and now runs for a new stable that’s been among the winners . Preference is for the strong staying and in form Gold Des Bois after an excellent 3rd in a deep race at Donny . Runs well here and drying ground in his favour .
1/2pt win Gold Des Bois @ 5/1
2.55 A very competitive Class 2 handicap for stayers and hard to ignore the Irish raider , Gordon Elliott’s lightly raced Jaycean at long odds as he ran well in a big field handicap recently .
1/4pt ew Jaycean @ 20/1
