3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Perfect Myth 5.10 @ 15/8
Hathlool 3.10 @ 7/2
Starshiba 7.40 @ 11/4
Selected Chepstow – good to firm on this undulating , galloping and quite stiff track
1.30 The odds on fav is the lightly raced Rainbow Colours who made all in gritty style at Ripon last time, so every chance this track will suit and may well be up to handling the hefty 6 pound hit as she remains unexposed and up against opposition hard to fancy .
1/2pt win Rainbow Colours @ 8/11
2.00 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 Flintstone is making a right meal of shedding his maiden tag and the longer trip looks unlikely to help , and the same can be said about Aurora Papillon . The fav is the lightly raced Due A Rum , who took to Brighton like a duck to water , beating two subsequent winners in style . Could be up to the 5 pound hit , but he had run at this trip on quick ground earlier , and was well seen off , so could be a Brighton specialist , we’ll have to wait and see. Midgetonamission had not been at her best until last time when a close 3rd at this trip on quick ground at Salisbury m and the 2nd horse won yesterday , and off the same mark and as this C&D likely to suit, this late player gets the vote .
1/4pt win Midgetonamission @ 10/3
4.00 Beryl Burton is certainly shaping like a winner about to happen at around this trip and mark but she’s a late player , as too is the in form but now a bit high in the weights City Escape . Regulator comes here on the back of a good 3rd and this course winner could pinch this from the front .
1/4pt win Regulator @ 7/2
Selected Leicester – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
2.10 It’s a weak handicap and a chance taken on clear form horse The Grey Wolf being as effective on a stiff track .
1/4pt win The Grey Wolf @ 3/1
3.10 Danville could be dangerous if getting a very soft lead , but has struggled with stiff tracks before . The lightly raced Master Of Combat came from some way back to prevail at Donny , but doubtful if he can repeat the dose up in the ratings sharply and switching to a stiff circuit .Hathlool has responded well to the drop in the ratings and the refitted hood and this late player was a close 3rd at Ascot last time, so this C&D won’t be an issue and preferred over Majestic Fighter and Shaladar, now both on stiff marks .
1/2pt win Hathlool @ 7/2
3.40 Understandable that Royal Ascot 6th of 28 Fresh Hope is a 4/7 shot .
4.10 PREMIUM RACE
4.40 Wiff Waff has been showing little of later , admittedly in better contests but has a terrific record here hence now the fav in a weak heat. Many of these are closely matched at the weights including veteran Burtonwood who was long odds when winning a similar event at Wolver , but has hit the frame twice in 3 tries here and could surprise . A very close and dear friend of mine is one of the owners of long standing maiden Babe Alicious , who hasn’t been far away of late . She has a little to find at the ratings and this stiff C&D may be too much late on , but nevertheless, wishing her the very best of luck .
1/4pt ew Burtonwood @ 20/1
5.10 A few seasons back ,Perfect Myth was a most progressive and prolific mare over hurdles , once rated as high as 140 , which is 98 on the flat , but some unknown reason the wheels fell off, she hardly saw the racetrack , and when she did , was a shadow of her former self . She is now with Stuart Kittow and has put in two big runs at this trip and mark and with this C&D very likely to suit, should well be third time lucky off a mark of just 53 !
3/4pt win Perfect Myth @ 15/8
Selected Hamilton – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track .
1.50 Jungle Time is the most consistent but Kevin Ryan , who runs Match Play has a terrific record here with juveniles ??
2.20 This will take little winning and despite now being a little high in the ratings , C&D winner Peachey Carnehan is preferred .
1/4pt win Peachey Carnehan
2.50 Jean Baptiste has a clear chance being only 2 pounds higher for an all the way win at Chester and could have the front to himself , but sometimes the consistent veteran Tommy G likes to dominate . Solar Joe came off the pace strongly to win at Ponty by 5 lengths and the 5 pound penalty could be within reach, but just 4 runs in 2 years do kick off warning bells. Dragons Will Rise just doesn’t know how to run a bad race , whatever is chucked at him and with a capable 7 pound claimer aboard , could surprise .
1/4pt ew Dragons Will Rise @ 10/1
3.20 Despite them both being penalised, this still looks between the prolific Graces Quest and track specialist Wickywickywheels , but at the trip, the former is preferred .
1/4pt win Graces Quest @ 7/4
4.20 Liv Lucky is just a pound higher than her C&D win two starts back and again likely to be front rank, lose her pitch and come again, hopefully for victory .
1/4pt win Liv Lucky @ 5/2
4.50 At the weights , the consistent if frustrating Koropick should have the measure of recent Beverley scorer Canaria Prince . Long standing maiden Stroxx is again likely to lead and drop away .
1/4pt win Koropick @ 6/1
Selected Worcester – good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
6.20 PREMIUM RACE
6.55 Not a race to go all in on as the fav is recent C&D winner Solo Saxophone who put a couple of shocking runs behind him by winning well ,but on softer ground than today . Other three are hard to support too.
7.25 Montaqen brings just about the best form to the table with a close 3rd over C&D on similar ground and is still very good odds, but there are a few dark horses in the field.
1/4pt ew Montaqem @ 15/2
7.55The fav is recent chase winner Mr woody , who is up 3 pounds and previously cut little ice over hurdles and with just 4 races in 2 races not the type to be fully confident in . Dynamic Kate is rarely far away but remains a maiden and the usual tongue tie is missing . The lightly raced Robbie Dazzler is with a capable stable and was noted running on well at Ffos las in the style that this longer trip would suit .
1/4pt ew Robbie Dazzler @ 8/1
8.25 Very much a match and as Presentandcounting and No No Maestro are very hard to split, the bet has to be the latter at the odds .
1/4pt win No No Maestro @ 2/1
8.55 Mac Suibhne has no penalty for a success at Market rasen in his first race for Micky Hammond , but this is a very different type of track , while the admirably consistent and prolific Midnight Jewel may need the run returning from a 9 months break . Kapitaliste is holding his form very well off his new mark since landing the double . and the longer trip looks a smart move as he’s been staying on well at the end of his races.
1/4pt win Kapitaliste @ 9/2
Selected Epsom – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
6.10 Intercessor sluiced in over C&d last time when given a very positive ride but the 5 pound hit could well test and there is also a lot of early pace but is partnered by a smart apprentice . The double wouldn’t surprise me as C&D form counts for plenty around here and really only New Heights comes here in good form . Undecided .
6.40 Courageous Knight is going to be hard to beat but in a 2yo races, I can pass at evens.
7.10 Wisper comes here on the back of a demolition job at Brighton , so this track should be fine, but it wasn’t much of a race and the 5 pound hit could be a stopper . Night Of Luxury has a bit to prove off this mark and around this sharp C&D while the penalised Toronado grey has never done well at this trip . I was with Gangway last time and he looked home and hosed but was picked up by a strong stayer last time . With a slightly less forceful ride , could be compensated .
1/4pt win Gangway @ 5/2
7.40 It was only a matter of time before Starshiba responded to the big drop in the ratings and comes here on the back of a narrow defeat at Ayr in a competitive race. He stays on the same mark and could well be away and gone around this sharp test .
1/2pt win Starshiba @ 11/4
8.10 Ideal Guest comes here on a hat-trick after facile wins at Brighton . He looks ahead of the 6 pound hit and this C&D should be fine , especially against weak opposition and another all the way win looks on .
3/4pt win Ideal Guest @ 11/10
8.45 Caius Chorister comes here on a 4 timer after a right old demolition job over C&D last time winning by 19 lengths , and had a reliable yardstick back 28 lengths . Another all the way win looks well on with just a 6 pound penalty and a very able 5 pound claimer cancelling out most of that . C&d winner Night Eagle will give it a good go but recent all weather winner Cabrakan looks out of this with a 6 pound hit .
3/4pt win Caius Chorister @ 4/6
