3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

My Oberon 3.35 @ 4/1

Isola Rossa 4.45 @ 9/2

Naval Crown 4.25 @ 5/1

Selected Newmarket – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

2.05 Kidwah is impossible to fully assess as he is 2 from 2 , runs in famous silks and for a top stable and hasn’t been hard pressed at all in winning both maidens, which were pretty modest affairs , she goes up in trip and this is the quickest ground she’s ever faced . Both the front  running Golden Spice and Truly Acclaimed have progressed really well but both now on stiff marks . Silken Petals did little wrong last time out when a decent 2nd over C&D off this mark , and off the same mark , a nice ew play .

1/4pt  ew  Silken Petals @ 11/1

3.50 PREMIUM RACE

4.25 The Group 1 July Cup and a cracking international field with contenders from Australia and Japan for this massive prize . The Japanese contender King Hermes is a real speedball and the very likely pacesetter , but ha quite a bit to find and this uphill finish not in his favour, but his presence of course will help shape the contest . He’s going to bomb off but will have company from Royal Ascot 2nd Flaming Rib and Royal Ascot victor Naval Crown , and this pair are likely to be leading the pack entering the final furlong , but of course who’ll be ahead at the line . Flaming Rib was beaten quite easily  by the prolific Perfect Power , while Naval Crown caused an almighty shock winning at The Royal meeting , front rank all the way and staying on the best to foil another Godolphin horse in Creative Force . Both those Ascot races were Group 1 but the one won by Naval Crown was worth over £1/2 million , twice as much as Perfect Power and looking at the fields for those races , it looked higher class. Australian challenger Artorius was only ¾ of a length behind but I’m with the tip to see out this stiff C&D the best .

1/2pt  win Naval Crown @ 5/1

Selected York – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

Isla Kai is a very useful handicapper and this front runner ran an absolute belter at Royal Ascot finishing 6th of 29 in The Royal Hunt Cup , a race full of early pace, so did very well to hang on as well as he did. His reward is a very welcome 2 pound drop in the ratings and from a good draw and a more benign track, could take some catching . Challet runs this track very well but is now on a stiff mark and drying ground not ideal ,and similar reservations for the prolific Eilean Dubh .

1/2pt  win Isla Kai @7/2

2.55 Plenty of these have a point to prove either with the trip or their mark , and that includes the bang in form Danni California , who’s been finally realising her potential now up in trip . Black Kalanisi is just 2 pounds higher for his recent win and give the nod over the consistent Ghadbbaan.

1/4pt win Black Kalanisi @ 11/2

3.30 This looks a pretty good quality nursery but with practically all of them wanting to lead, you have to be with the effective late player Rock Opera .

1/4pt  win Rock Opera @ 9/2

4.05 PREMIUM RACE

4.40 Winter Power is 3 from 4 here but  this front runner comes here with plenty to prove , way out the back in his last 4 and despite on ratings being the one to beat , you’d like to see a glimpse of his old brilliant best before supporting . He wont have the front to himself and I prefer a play on the useful Caturra , a decent chance at the ratings and a strongly run race suits .

1/4pt win Caturra @ 11/2

Selected Ascot – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track

2.25 as the willing and determined prominent racing Dancing Harry is just 2 pounds higher for a good win last time , unlikely to be far away again .

1/4pt win Dancing Harry @ 13/2

3.00 PREMIUM RACE

3.35 The quick ground is not In the favour of Chindit or Mutasaabeq. The prolific My Oberon is 3 from 4 this year , the only setback was hardly a flop , finishing a cracking 6th of 14  at Meydan in a race worth £1 and  a half million  and comes here on the back of a good win at Windsor on quick ground and this stiffer circuit will suit .

3/4pt  win My Oberon @ 4/1

4.45 The ultra consistent Isola Rossa showed last time she’s not merely a useful all weather type with a brilliant 3rd of 20 at Royal Ascot , and should get revenge on the 2nd placed Random Harvest with a 4 pound pull and taken to go a few better today off the same mark .

1/2pt win Isola Rossa @ 9/2

5.20 A number of these have questions to answer with on quick ground , trip or mark . The prolific Sayifyouwill was another to show she’s not just an all weather horse , with an off the pace win at Salisbury on fast ground . So this C&D should suit and off just a 2 pound higher mark , is preferred .

1/4pt win Sayifyouwill @ 5/1

Selected Chester – good to firm on this flat and sharp track where low numbers have a distinct advantage .

Just a word to my buddies , with whom I’ll be spending the afternoon with on a “ Virtual Chester “ We’re not at the track today , but we’ll be in excellent company and no rips offs by : Bookies, Tote , grub or alcohol !

1.50 Devasboy was a shock winner over C&D last time , doing the unusual here , coming off the pace to win well . The 4 pound hit will test but drying ground not in Liamarty Dreams favour while the capable Meng Tian has a bit to prove after a tame one last time .

1/4pt wn Devasboy @ 6/4

2.33 The well drawn Stunt Game brings comfortably the best form to the table and after 2 good 2nds should be 3rd time lucky . The well drawn Grey Force One was  a shock 50/1 winner at Ripon last time , and there was no fluke to it , but a lot to do dropping in trip and shouldering a penalty .

1/2pt win Stunt Game @ 6/5

3.08 The drop in trip won’t help the double chasing Poet’s Magic, but still the likely leader , but could well be struggling for pace late on . Princess Shabnaam was awesome last time but it was on the all weather and on far too high a mark back on turf. Sophie’s Star is a cracking type, and was recently 4th in a hot Listed event at Ayr , but the longer trip the issue . With so much early pace about , this could be set up for recent winner Crazy Luck , a consistent C&D winner and only 2 pounds higher.

1/2pt win Crazy Luck @ 5/2

3.43 A quality Class 1 event and the fav is Laneqash , who has a 4 pound buffer at the ratings , but it’s been a while wince he last won and last time out was a severe step backwards . Ostula is holding her form very well and ran a cracker at Sandown last time out . Not well drawn and drops in trip, but certainly has the bit between her teeth of late .

1/4pt win Ostula @ 3/1

4.53 The front running Roman Dragon is a regular here and despite both the drop in trip and the wide draw, is still the likely pacesetter and has the speed for this distance .

1/2pt win Roman Dragon @ 3/1

5.30 Visibility was a shock winner in a competitive Ponty handicap 2 starts back in a rare run at this trip and backed that up with another big run at the same track down in trip when a close 3rd in another competitive heat . This is a very different track but the form is really good and could be running these down late on .

½ pt win Visibility @ 7/1
