The Big Jetaway 12.00 @ 5/2

Minella Examiner 12.15 @ 7/1

Rollerruler 12.30 @ 6/4

Selected Carlisle – soft ground on this undulating , stiff  and galloping track

12.00 A very uncompetitive novice hurdle and only a few can be seriously considered . The Big Jetaway came from a long way back to be a closing 3rd over C&D on his hurdles debut and there’s nothing like the calibre of the two that finished ahead in this . Irish raider Roxanya could struggle down in trip returning from a 6 months absence .

½ pt  win The Big Jetaway @ 5/2

12.30 Rollerruler was well supported when winning on his first start for the Stuart Coltherd stable at Hexham and last season went close in this race on similar ground and a higher mark . His rivals all have it to prove either dropping in trip or on ground soft enough .

½ pt  win Rollerruler @ 6/4

1.05 Very much a match and as they are hard to split , Best Trition has to be the bet at the odds over Irish raider Gold Cup Bailly .

½ pt  win Best Trition @ 5/2

1.40 Papa Tango Charley simply took off in his chase debut recently over C&d in the style that the 10 pound hit wont stop him doubling up .

½ pt  win Papa Tango Charley @ evens

Selected Southwell – good to soft on this flat and sharp track

12.15 Recent course winner Mozzaro has it to prove up in trip as he’s 0 from 4 at today’s distance and it’s frankly hard to get excited about the prospects of many which gives a decent chance to Minella Examiner , who has a first ever run in Class 5 and landed a Donny handicap with ease last season off around this mark and this kind of ground and then followed that up with a fair effort on ground too soft . He ran well for a long way on his comeback spin and this prominent racer looks a nice bet in a modest race .

½ pt  win Minella Examiner @7/1

12.45 The admirably consistent Dreamsundermyfeet could well be found out by the stiff penalty and softer ground . The lightly raced Docpickedme has a C&D win over hurdles on his Cv and has shaped up well over fences . Just a bit worried about the first time cheekpieces , a negative for the stable .

¼ pt win Docpickedme @ 11/2

1.20 Anthony Honeyball has a terrific record in bumpers and runs Pour Me another , who has an impressive flat pedigree and could just be too speedy for these .

¼ p t  win Pour Me Another @ 7/2

1.55 Very uncompetitive and looks easy peasy for recent 2nd Horizon d’Ainay , but I can pass at 1/2.

No Bet

2.25 Just no stopping the wonder mare Peltwell , who’s won her last 6 , but had to work hard to prevail last time , so the further 5 pound hit could catch her out , but she’ll still be trying . Preference is for the ex- Irish Laura Bullion who has run well in both starts in the UK and this is her best trip .

¼ pt  win Laura Bullion @ 13/2

2.55 Quite a competitive novice hurdle and the nod goes to Rocky Lane , who admittedly had the run of the race when successful at Market Rasen , but beat a good one and the longer trip and softer ground in his favour .

¼ pt  win Rocky Lane @ 4/1
