2.40 The longer trip is the issue for Koi Dodville , while not enough rain has fell for the back to form Ask Paddington while surprise last time winner Marajman would do very well to double up with a stiff penalty and in a much tougher race . Both Diligent , 8 wins, 4 seconds and a 3rd in his last 13 ! and Salley Gardens , 3 wins and 2 seconds in his last 5 ! are of course admirable types but the handicapper has a job to do and both are now on testing marks, but could still have this race between them .

3.10 Avoid De Master comes here on the back of a win at the stayers’ track of Hexham , and over a longer trip , so unlikely he’ll have the pace for this . Morgenstern is struggling off this mark while course specialist High Noon is still not shaping like a winner about to happen , and it’s hard fancying the struggling novice hurdler Any Given Sunday . The front running Rizzardo should certainly have the lead to himself and is back down to his last winning mark and could surprise .

1.10 You can understand the frustration of supporters of 12 race maiden English Spirit and makes no appeal at short odds today , and only other run on tapeta not good. The admirable Odd Socks Havana has held his form very well , but from a bad draw and a career high mark , I continue to search . Both Pope Gregory and Power On have recent course wins on their CV but are also on stiff marks . The late playing Last Mission has a rare run in a 0-60 and won off just a pound lower at Kempton , just a few races ago . He ran respectably last time over C&D and this late player will have a strong pace to chase but regular rider Dougie Costello has jumped ship for Odd Socks Manana , so despite his negatives , still ticks the most boxes.

1.45 The admirable Frame Rate runs this C&D very well , but now on a very testing mark , and clear preference is for the consistent all weather performer Smart Boyo, only a pound higher for his narrow defeat over C&D in a far better race and very able 7 pound claimer Ryan Sexton rides today .

Furthermore he’s a late player in a race with little early pace about . Plumette comes here on the back of a cracking series of runs , and whatever the handicapper does , she raises her game and comes here on the back of a cracking effort at Beverley on turf and only a pound higher today . He runs this track very well and is likely to be more forward than most when the sprint begins and a very nice ew play .

1.20 The fav is Largo Bay but I find it east to look elsewhere as he’s been finding this mark tough of late and far more of an all weather horse .Smokey Malone got into all kinds of bother here last time , but as usual still ran his race being a close 3rd , just behind Sherpa Trail , who can’t be ignored today as he shapes like this longer trip will suit but as the tip is proven at the distance and is tenacious in the finish gets the nod .
