Certainly enough Spirit to land the 5.45

Today’s Multi – a very successful feature this month

3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble

Royal Scholar 2.40 @ 9/4

Spirituoso 5.45 @ 11/4

Treacherous 6.50 @ 10/3

Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack

2.00 Maylah sluiced in last time at Wolver in a similar race , and despite running to a good level, on official ratings , this short priced fav is far from past the post , but has only been with the good stable of Mike Appleby for a short time ,and you would expect improvement . The ultra reliable Rainbow Sign , a C&d winner , is again likely to be not far away .

Selected Catterick – good to firm on this undulating and sharp track

1.50 The Dancing Poet runs this tricky track very well , 2 wins and a place in 4 tries, one of those wins coming in this race last year and again has top amateur Simon Walker in the saddle, but did come into that race in good form , but no so this time , but there was a sign of encouragement last time . Both Ivy and Just Hiss broke long losing runs recently but both now back up the ratings and both with stamina doubts. Point of Honour has had a light season and won well at Musselburgh last time , under this rider , making all ,and is also proven here . Up 3 pounds , but still likely to be In the thick of things .

1/4pt  ew  Point Of Honour @ 9/1

2.20 The short priced fav is recent Windsor runaway winner Talamanca , who beat a previous good winner by a long looking 6 lengths , his first try at this trip . The 6 pound hit could have been far , far worse , but raced front rank that day , and with more competition for the lead today , racing from a bad draw and around a very different circuit , and under an in form apprentice who’s never ridden here , would do very well to double up . Man Made Of Smoke was a close 2nd in a Leicester nursery off this mark last time , and the 3rd horse has run well since , but 7 furlongs around Leicester and 6 furlongs around Catterick are chalk and cheese . Harswell Rose showed plenty of dash in a Donny nursery and wasn’t disgraced finishing 5th . From a good draw, could go well .

4.55 The veteran King Crimson has responded very well to the big drop in the ratings, going close in his last two runs , both at his beloved Brighton , but no slouch here , a win and a place in 3 tries . The draw could have been kinder and there are others with leadability claims , but still taken to make all.

¼ pt win King Crimson @ 5/1

Selected Dundalk – all weather – polytrack

2.40 The dual C&d winner Royal Scholar is the clear form horse , coming here on the back of a win and an unlucky 2nd last time off this mark and both over C&D. He’s a late player and has run well from bad draws here before . Plenty of pace in the contest to suit his style of racing .

1/2pt  win Royal Scholar @ 9/4

4.10 The class act is recent course winner Harry’s Bar , whose move to the Adrian McGuinness stable from the good English stable of James Fanshawe raised a number of eyebrows, but has kept his good level of form . He is 5 from  8 here , including last time out , but was only 3rd in this last year , and that came off a 5 pound lower mark . Adams Barbour runs this track very well , 7 wins and 5 places from 18 tries , and last time was way behind Harry’s Bar, but the switch back to 6 furlongs certainly in his favour and a very lively longshot .

1/4pt  ew  Adam’s Barbour @ 16/1

4.40 PREMIUM RACE

5.45 A typical Dundalk big field low grade handicap, far more about quantity than quality and he stand out contender is the well drawn , in form C&d winner Spirituoso , only beaten a head when 2nd of 17 last time at Gowran Park . Likely to be ridden prominently by regular jockey Joe Doyle and looks a very strong fav , and not bad odds at all .

3/4pt win  Spirtituoso @ 11/4

Selected Windsor – good to firm on this flat and galloping track

5.20 Hard seeing a switch to a speed track being of use to the in form Blue Venture , runner up the last twice , and a win record of just 1 from 23 .Foreseeable Future comes here on the back of a fine win at Ripon given a prominent ride . Up 4 pounds but star 5 pound claimer Harry Davies takes 5 pounds off and well drawn under the stands rails .

1/4pt  win Foreseeable Future @ 9/4

6.50 Treacherous hasn’t won for 2 years but this late player does run this C&d very well and was a close 4th last time in a valuable event , much higher grade . With the likeable La Roca Del Fuego sure to bomb off and Lipsink could well join in , he’ll have an ideal strong pace to chase and this should be an overdue return to The Winner’s Circle .

1/2pt  win Treacherous @ 10/3

Selected Bangor – good ground on this flat and sharp track

5.40 4 of these are going to bomb off which won’t help their cause but will certainly enhance the chances of the late players . Punxatawny Phil is not shaping like a winner about to happen so worth risking chase newcomer Annual Review , who was a close 2nd at Uttoxeter when going with a strong pace , but less effective when ridden patiently last time . He’s with a top stable .

1/4pt  ew Annual Review @ 11/1

6.10 I was very much with Wasdell Dundalk last time but for some reason was very easy to back in the market and ran poorly . That is something I’ve never got my head around in horse racing , if the horse is not right , why run it and cost punters dearly . If we ignore his last run, comes here with a winning chance.

1/4pt win Wasdell Dundalk @ 8/1

6.40 The longer trip, rise in grade and ratings are all negatives against the reliable Latino Fling . The switch to long trips and good ground has seen an incredible transformation in the prolific Wbee, who won his first handicap , last year , off a mark of just 103, and has won 5 times since , in just 7 starts ! He now operates off a very lofty mark of 137,and he could have done with an extra few furlongs , but does run tight tracks well . He is preferred over the very useful chaser Francky Du Berlais , whose last run over hurdles resulted in a disappointing 5th of 6 beaten 15 lengths .

1/4pt  win Wbee @ 7/2
