Selected Newton Abbot – good ground on this flat and sharp track

2.00 Sizing Cusimano is arguably the form horse , but returns from a break with no good record running well fresh . St Erney’s best runs have come at Exeter, off lower marks , so hard seeing him feature around this sharp circuit , despite this looking winnable . As Get The Appeal has stamina doubts and Flying Verse poor in both outings since resuming duties, decent chance for the capable From The Heart , after a good effort when 2nd over C&D last time , off this mark , but not known for consistency .

¼ pt  win From The Heart @ 5/1

2.30 Looks a match but the form of Glengeever is stronger than the disappointing Ben Lilly .

½ pt  win Glengeever @ 11/10

3.00 The big penalty and the longer trip are no help to recent Worcester winner Arizona Glory , while Imperial Joe has struggled off this new mark and the drying ground is right against him. Nobody would deny Passing Secrets a deserved win , 4 seconds from 10 starts and mark , trip and ground all in his favour .

½ pt  win Passing Secrets @ 3/1

Selected Beverley – good ground on this stiff and galloping track

1.40 Blackcurrent is only modest but is a true trier . He’s run two respectable efforts on turf of late and has found wanting for pace . This uphill finish could well come to his rescue .

¼ pt  win Blackcurrent @ 3/1

4.15 The in form pair of Crown Princess and Bavardages are both C&D winners and respected despite both being nudged up the ratings . Shalaa Asker doesn’t win as many as he should , but down to a good mark and the way he finished when 5th of 15 at Thirsk at just short of trip , beaten about a length , is worth a try on this stiffer circuit .

¼ pt   ew Shalaa Asker @ 15/2

No Beverley placepot

Selected Hamilton – probably good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track

3.20 the drop in trip won’t help the luckless Arrange , last 5 races all second while the in form Clansman is likely to struggle on drying ground . Where’s Jeff put in a much more encouraging effort last time  , now down to a  more appropriate mark and he runs this C&D very well .

½ pt  win Where’s Jeff @ 10/3

No Hamilton placepot

Selected Warwick – good ground on this flat and sharp track

6.05 A weak novice hurdle and the bookies make it a 2 horse war, but the hard to win with Leylak underperformed on his comeback spin and the far more reliable Let’s Have another looks good for the double , despite the penalty

½ pt  win Let’s Have Another @ 11/10

7.35 You can pick big holes in the chances of all of these , including the selection, who is a 10 race maiden and goes chasing for the first time, but a stand out piece of form when 2nd in a competitive handicap off around this mark , trip and ground , makes Spiritus Mundi worth a dabble.

¼ pt  win Spiritus Mundi @ 7/1

No Warwick placepot

Selected Ripon , good ground on this undulating and sharp track

6.25 I was very much with Dapper Man over C&D last time , but he lost his race at the start and on a generous 3 pound lower mark, chance to make amends ,probably making all, and has done that over C&D twice before.

¼ pt win Dapper Man @ 13/2

6.55 Looks very much a match and while Scotch Mistress wasn’t disgraced in a hot York Listed Event , the front running Tamarama brings plenty of substance to the race , on a fair mark , and has run well here before .

1/2pt  win Tamarama @ evens

7.25 Captain Kane is very much on  a roll , 4 wins and a 2nd in his last 5 , and last time out I was right against him, as he dropped in trip , had a 6 pound penalty and gave every indication he was just a good all weather performer , so the switch to quick turf also looked against him, but turned in a career best run . 6 pounds higher but a smart apprentice takes off 5 , and from a nice draw, and proven on undulating tracks, looks set to extend his sequence .

½ pt  win Captain Kane @ 13/8
