3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Soaring Eagle 3.50 @ 11/4
Minister For Magic 4.25 @ 7/2
Boothill 2.25 @ 2/1
Selected Chepstow – probably good ground on this undulating, galloping and quite stiff track
1.22 The short priced fav Ioupy Collanges has a bit to prove on drying ground and up in trip so worth trying the decent bumper horse Moonshine Spirit , who runs for a top stable , likes the ground , has run well here before and this trip should be to his advantage .
1/4pt win Moonshine Spirit @ 10/1

No Chepstow placepot
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
12.55 Despite having the worst of the draw , the front running Later Darling should again has the front to himself and with just a 2 pound penalty for a determined win last time , could take a lot of catching .
1/2pt win Later Darling @ 5/2
1.30 PREMIUM RACE
2.40 With 3 front runners in the field , a strong pace is assured which should play into the hooves of the back to form Diderot , at his best coming off a strong pace and preferred to the lightly raced Security Code , two runs in 2 seasons can’t instil confidence .
1/2pt win Diderot @ 10/3
3.50 It will be very disappointing If Soaring Eagle can’t land this winnable maiden after two good runs at this trip in handicaps . Surface no issue.
1/2pt win Soaring Eagle @ 11/4
4.25 This is there for the taking and worth chancing the ex-Irish Minister For Magic , who shaped up well here in a decent event , giving every indication a longer trip would be to her advantage .

5.00 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Newcastle – probably good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
3.25 The Eider Chase , often a trial for the Grand National , as this is just shy of the Aintree showpiece trip . The ridiculously short 2/1 fav is the strong staying Kitty’s Light , who was mightily consistent last season , but running so many big races in marathons probably took its toll , and this season has not been at his best , but did show more last time when running on well to be 3rd over a trip well short of his best . Sam’s Adventure did well to win comfortably at Catterick last time over a C&D sharp enough , that win coming on his preferred soft ground . Despite the penalty , this former winner of this event is still well handicapped on old form . Drying ground may well not look ideal , but has run respectably on a sound surface.
1/4pt ew Sam’s Adventure @ 12/1
4.03 The consistent Dubai Dreams has the ground in his favour and remains on a workable mark . This late player is effective over C&D and is up against rivals who would prefer either a different trip or softer ground .
1/4pt win Dubai Days @ 11/2
4.38 This looks very much there for the taking and despite the admirable front running Jungle Jack . 5 wins and 2 seconds in 7 starts ! now on a stiff enough mark and on ground quicker than ideal , hard to see him being beaten .
1/2pt win Jungle Jack @ 13/8
Selected Kempton – probably good ground on this flat and sharp track
2.25 Boothill is the one to beat at the ratings , despite carrying a penalty . Ground in his favour and is 2 from 2 around this stiff jumping test .
1/2pt win Boothill @ 2/1
3.00 The back to form Cap Du Nord won this last year off a slightly lower mark and despite being partnered by a 5 pound claimer , the jockey has ridden a winner in 64 rides ! Our Power was 3rd in this last year , when looking unlucky , and comes here on the back of a fine win at Ascot. A strong pace is assured which can only help this late player . Now on a stiff looking mark , but still preferred on ideal ground .
1/2pt win Our Power @ 5/1
4.10 A wide open handicap and worth trying the successful novice hurdler Don Hollow , on a fair mark in his first handicap and both C&D and ground should suit .
1/4pt win Don Hollow @ 9/2
Been through the Chelmsford City card and it’s most uncompetitive and found myself going for mostly favs, and short enough for their chance . Giving the card a miss .
