Garrus 2.30 @ 9/4
Pons Aelius 3.35 @ 15/8
Royal Scotsman 3.40 @ 5/2
Selected Haydock – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.25 Plenty of potential improvers in this very valuable Classs 2 handicap but as Just Bring It was a close 3rd off around this mark last time and proven at the trip and ground , worth a dabble .
1/4pt win Just Bring It @ 6/1
3.00 Another valuable event , this time a Group 2 sprint and on official ratings , the Aiden O’Brien trained Little Big Bear will take some beating but he was tailed off in the 2000 Guineas , before stamina became an issue . I prefer just watching him for now and the mightily consistent and prolific Cold Case gets the nod as he stepped up on previous with a clear win in an Ascot Group 3 . The ground could be quick enough , but still preferred .
1/2pt win Cold Case @ 4/1

Selected The Curragh – good ground on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
2.30 a valuable Group 2 sprint which looks destined to go across The Irish Sea with Art Power defending a C&D record of 2 from 2 up against the useful Garrus . Air Power hasn’t fired for some time , and if still in the doldrums, the late playing tip should land the prize .
3/4pt win Garrus @ 2/1
3.40 The Irish 2000 Guineas , and a number of these ran very well in the British equivalent with Hi Royal defying odds of 125/1 to run a scorcher in 2nd with Royal Scotsman an unlucky looking 3rd . That race was run on soft ground ,. And with today’s ground likely to suit the tip more than anything else in the field, looks good for compensation .
1/2pt win Royal Scotsman @ 9/4
It is a very tricky card at Goodwood , and despite it looking good racing , I’m giving the card a swerve
Selected York – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.35 Intercessor won 3 times last season , all on quick ground and all over a mile , He’s now on a tricky mark but has run well in both starts this season , both over today’s trip of 7 furlongs , which could open a few new doors for him . There’s plenty of early pace around to suit this late player .
1/2pt ew Intercessor @ 7/1

4.25 After an impressive win on the all weather for Sir Michael Stoute , Theme Park was sold for a hefty £200,000 , and connections will be keen to get something back for their investment , and it could be today against rivals unproven on quick turf and the tip comes here on the back of a staying on close 6th here , and today’s longer trip should help .
1/4pt win Theme Park @ 10/3
5.00 The back to form Titan Rock was an unlucky close 2nd over C&D last time and despite a 2 pound nudge , should again be bang there . Late player .
1/4pt win Titan Rock @ 5/1

Selected Cartmel – good ground on this undulating and very sharp track with a long run in
2.15 As the useful and consistent Mary Poppins is dropping in trip, not ideal around here , the prolific Magical Minnie can go in again , remaining on a good mark and ground no issue .
1/2pt win Magical Maggie @ 13/8
4.30 Looks very much a match but as The Wolf has a 7 pound hit and switches to quicker ground , fine opportunity for the useful and in form Fidux .
1/2pt win Fidux @ 15/8

Selected Chester – good ground on this flat and sharp track where a low draw and a prominent ride are advantageous .
3.35 Pons Aelius doesn’t know how to run a bad race and the drop in grade will certainly aid him in his quest for a deserved win . Draw’s not great and other front runners in the field, but doesn’t have to lead to run his race.
3/4pt win Pons Aelius @ 15/8
4.05 Carnival Zain was most progressive last season as this prominent racer rung The Victory Bell 5 times , including over C&D . Draw is fine and despite now being on a stiff enough mark , will prefer the ground more than most .

I’ve been through the two night racing cards with my usual great care , and with so many ifs , buts and maybes in the vast majority of the races , just the one play at Ffos Las, good ground on this flat and galloping track
6.25 Looks very much a two horse war but as Hardy Boy continues to have a hard time getting his nose in front and more potent on a right hand track , the consistent Dindin remains on a workable mark with the ground and probably C&D to suit .
1/2pt win Dindin @ 10/3
